I was there, and this was the loudest I've ever seen Sanford Stadium, and I was there for the Auburn Blackout as a student in 2007. I've heard tell the LSU game in 2013 was loud, but that was the earlier, 3:30 CBS kick-off. This is the one time a year CBS does the double-header and has the main team call a night game. I know the season didn't go the way we wanted (no one was beating LSU in in 2019), but the memory of this game, as thrilling and as frustrating and loud and insane as it was, will be something I remember forever.
Same one of the top 3 most lit days of my life and I have seen Tiger win @ Augusta & the Braves play a WS game in ATL in 99 but nothing compares to Athens especially on a Top 10 matchup weekend, OOC vs ND to boot. It was the perfect Saturday.
For as much talent as Georgia has, I think it speaks to how much better Notre Dame has gotten since going 4-8 in 2016 that both games between these two teams were both one possession games that came down to the last play of the game.
Can't wait to be back in Dooley field For a packed hype game like that! Folks if you have never witnessed that atmosphere in person your missing out!! GO DAWGS
Even as an Ohio State fan, watching this game was INSANE. CFB Gameday atmospheres like this S*** on anything the NFL’s. I can’t WAIT for my Buckeyes to come to Sanford stadium. We’ll have to wait until 2030 but it’s gonna be crazy. Then y’all get to come to Columbus and experience “The Shoe” in 2031!
