I’ve talked about the Regency before, on You Tube. If its lunch, always the steak pie, but lunch time is just manic , and on a Friday, well. I used to work at NSY in Victoria Street , so very local. But now if I am in the area, and the time is right I make a beeline. Tourists, they can go back home and say, the Regency is not a London Tourist trap, all round good food reasonably priced, service and staff, are first rate, you could not ask for more. Just a heads up, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey , Palace of Westminster, Horse Guards are close by. Avoid that fast food rubbish and treat yourself, cant be beat.
I was in london in Twenty nineteen for a week and I ate there the Regency cafe about six times that week. I really enjoyed it. Especially the breakfest
I was vacationing in London in January of 2019 The first night I was there I found this restaurant and went back for breakfast I think four or five of the seven days I was there in London really enjoyed it
Westminsters Jewel 🎉 Known amongst our group as “gods cafe” AKA the voice of God 😊 Your order can be heard all over London…….. the gaffa and Lady gaffa share a special voice which I’m sure they keep in a box…….. it only adds to the experience ⭐️ The food is great and fairly priced, the queue and no sitting till you’ve ordered is novel, but works……… the Cafe is jammed, the queue snakes out and round……… but it moves quickly, then, miraculously, having ordered, a table is clear……… it works 🇬🇧⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Was here just last week bc I stayed around the corner & owner recommended it - as an American, I usually dislike British food , but this place is by far the best food I’ve eaten ANYWHERE in Oxford or London ! I got the eggs Benedict, once a rice pudding , etc . I didnt realize the man serving me was the owner - really nice guy ) I’ve read there was a rash of bad online reviews so ignore those- no one is “ rude “ they simply have a HUGE SIGN that says “ order BEFORE sitting down” ( the line is out the door so it made perfect since they don’t want people taking up space thinking of ordering etc !no one waits on you here you go thru the line, order ,pay and then pick it up yourself AS it’s called ) There a girl mopping and clearing tables constantly to keep up w the crowds - I’m not sure how anyone can honestly say the staff were RUDE ?!! when there’s zero waitresses?! Serve yourself ( I loved every minute of it )
@@Oxford322,I live across the street from the Regency,there are 5 cafes within a 5 minute walk,the Regency is slightly more expensive than the others,not sure where else you ate to think it's half the price 😮😊
Before I retired 15 years ago I worked in London two or three days a fortnight in a government office. I came here most days. At that time RU-vid was not such a thing so whilst it was always busy there weren’t great queues.
@@Ermahh8686 I’m going to guess that not being able to grab a table with the family while one of you queues is an alien concept…… caught me out. First visit I was tense, not having a seat, but they’ve been doing this a while and it works……. The trouble is, you queue, long enough to know without doubt what you want……. you order quickly and go sit down. The service is fast, the turnaround is fast. Doesn’t suit everyone. 🙂
