This is the closest the U.S. came to experiencing it. And it'll be a full carbon copy of the aftermath in due time though we're seeing it right now. The Dems will play the part of the Nazis and will use this incident as an excuse to persecute and silence any/all voices of dissent. And the conservatives will play the part of the culprits. It's one thing to go after those guilty of storming the Capitol. They deserve to be punished for their crimes, period end of sentence. It's a completely different thing to silence conservatives online and be completely authoritarian.

The enabling act gave the government the power to pass laws without consent of parliament. These laws didn't even need to be constitutional. Parliament was completely sidelined by this and only met for a couple of times again to listen to Hitler's speeches. If you're actually trying to say that the Patriot Act was in any way similar to this, you're just delusional.

@@srccde I wasn’t referring to the mechanism by which legislation was made in either case. I was pointing out that enabling act and patriot act where used as “trojan horses” to justify an expansion of power. Obviously it’s you who is “delusional” for not realizing the parallels here.
