In all honesty, chief and Johnson could have at least included him in the plan, because he may have known the protocol for the the worst case scenario, a flood invasion of the lesser ark and an unfinished ring. If you've watched all the terminals throughout the game, you might remember the one where Guilty Spark was speculating to himself that he may have detected a planet with life on it, far from the ring. Even after stating aloud that the journey would take some 100,000 years, he still argues to himself whether or not he should abandon the ring and go explore the planet.

HiddenXperia, Do you ever wonder if it perhaps was 343 Guilty Spark who released the flood in Halo 1? He tells chief, "someone" has released the flood, but as we know, Covenant don't have an easy time accessing Forerunner technology because they aren't Reclaimers. Perhaps in a moment of rampancy 343 GS released them in order to set events into motion, truly making him a "guilty" spark". Idk, maybe the canon states somewhere that the Covenant actually did it, but I find the Halo writers always put deeper meanings into their characters and names. Like maybe something was embedded into GS just like the Librarian stated with their thousands of years of planning, and the only way a species can be a "reclaimer" is by destroying or curing the flood. Librarian wanted humans to do it, Didact wanted Forerunners to do it, perhaps Cortana thinks the Created can do it and therefore will be Reclaimers themselves.

Yes. Halo: Fractures covers where they went and heavily implies that she died of old age with the Iso in another galaxy. They both left their armor and chose to live normal lives and even had a child. But without their armor, their lifespan was cut short, and intentionally so.

Well, imagine if you had spent 100,000 years alone in complete isolation. At some point you would just snap, especially since they’re AI subject to rampancy. Plus, Spark did actually consider abandoning his Ring to travel for another 100,000 years to the nearest planet with life on it togo exploring
