Daniel Bateman: I'm going to get you the ball. Jimmy McGinty: [starts shouting repeatedly to rev Danny up] Are you gonna get me the ball! Daniel Bateman: [shouting back repeatedly] I wanna get you the ball! [then runs on the field] Jimmy McGinty: I hope he doesn't kill someone. I love this movie. Always such a pleasure to watch.

Michael Jace, who plays the inmate player Earl Wilkinson, is actually an inmate currently. He was convicted of the murder of his wife several years back. He's currently serving 40 to life. It's a shame because he was a great actor, especially on The Shield.

This is my 2nd favorite sports movie. Nothing beats Rocky (I’m a Philly girl & Rocky’s worshipped). But this is so fabulous - my sister & I still quote it at least once a week, I swear🤭. Great reaction, as usual, m’friend

This is actually based on the 87 Redskins. The year they had the strike. Where they went on to win the Super Bowl with Doug Williams at quarterback. Jon Favreau’s best role ever!😂

Yes, quarterbacks should usually slide. Not on the last play of the game when you have a chance to get in the endzone, though. That's why Martel sucks lol

As others said on the Major League reaction, Unnecessary Roughness is the earlier football version of the same kind of story. And don’t forget the Major League sequels are decent. Bad News Bears from the 70’s (not the remake) is a kids baseball version of same story. Bench Warmers about baseball losers is funny. Hardball (starring Keanu as the coach) is the same baseball story (not really going to recommend it though as it is kind of kiddy/not a great movie but OK for kids). To be fair to the actor playing the jerk quarterback on strike - he’s in a 90’s Western TV show called The Young Riders and plays the Sherriff and he’s a really good character with big time code and morals. Good actor. Never seemed to get well known. The opposing coaches are the real life football coordinators/playmakers/stunts for the movie.

Good and very enjoyable movie reaction. This is one of my favorite sports related movies.

So vet radio syndicate I believe is the artist. But they posted a painting of the movie falling down and it looks like you in the background. If you haven't seen that movie look for that painting. I questioned weather or not jokingly on the post of it was alcyone reacts? Or bob odenkirk it looks way more like you and I referenced you so if you haven't seen it now might be a perfect time. Check the picture if I it doesn't resemble you than you should still do the movie asap. If I was more tech savvy I'd link it for you or something. And good replacements video 👍

I've always loved this film but as I've gotten older and learned about all of the physical aliments facing football players, I do dislike the negative portrayal of the striking players and the positive portrayal of the scab players. I still enjoy the fuck out of this film though. I rewatched it all the time with my dad before he passed.
