I've been there myself. My judge sentenced me to a 12 step program 28 years ago. Fortunately I got sober and stayed off the sauce.

I’m wondering if that young lady is in an abusive relationship...She just seems really timid and nervous when talking about him & you can tell that she continues to cover for him in multiple ways. I hope that, if that’s the case, she gets out of there ASAP. I wish her the best.

As I am personally quite well aware, domestic violence does not have to be physical to be destructive. Mental cruelty, psychological battery, and the like, are more insidious in physical battery. Not that one is any better or worse than the other, but psychological abuse leaves terrible scars that nobody can see. Anybody suffering through domestic violence of any kind would do well to go to City Hall and ask to speak to a domestic violence advocate. Most likely, these days, the victim will find the connections and support to make the transition from domestic violence victim to domestic violence survivor.

I've seen it before in young women ,my daughter was the same as that girl nervous twitchy emotional and always covering for him until I sat her down and finally she told me how he belittled her and shamed her in front of his friends,the big brave bully is not so brave anymore and she is nearly back to normal .The young lady in the story needs to get help and get out of the relationship.

Its so strange, that its often young and pretty girls with plenty of options that seem to choose losers and deadbeats. maybe its some self esteem issue, where she thinks she cant get anything better and is afraid to be alone. Guys like that are like the old fashioned ball and chain.... a real pain when you are trying to move ahead.

You shouldn't insult toddlers, they have a valid excuse. This moocher is an insult to any man who's trying to be a man. He insults me, and I suffer from chronic headaches /migraines and I still try to work, grow food and take care of the house with my wife.

That poor lady with the alcohol addiction, it’s hard. My best friend used to be an addict and he really suffered. He’s been sober for two years now and I’m proud of him. My heart goes out to this lady!

Judge Judy is great to watch as a show. But she is egotistical, overbearing, harsh, grating, sarcastic and entertaining when you watch her as an audience.. She does not have the exquisite pateince, compassion nor the kindness and gentleness Judge Caprio has.. Judge Judy judges and dismisses people matter of factly - sometimes very rudely too.. Judge Caprio assesses people, their situations with empathy and then gives the verdict always minimizing the penalty.

I got a speeding ticket (90 in a 65) and went to court to explain why i was speeding and I told the judge that I work from 6pm to 2:30am and when I got off work I wanted to get home and sleep, so the judge understood and said, "I can see that you're good driver and didn't intentionally speed and I understand that working past midnight is tiring, so I'm going to reduce your fine by half so instead of paying $489, you'll need to pay $244".

I've never seen so many people cry in one session. Wonderful man. What allows so much vulnerability is the warm demeanor of the Judge. Tickets are a $$ maker for the city/state, I'm surprised that they're allowing him to be as lenient and merciful as he is, I'm glad he's able to weigh that line of justice between accountability and mercy. God Bless him ..... ; )

Make sure you pick your partner wisely. We sit there and say I love you and put our partners through bad situations like this. Make sure your partner is a true follower. Sad story girls in providence end up having babies by these guys and then are stuck.

I wish to God we had more Judges like you sir! In the years of making court appearances to prosecute felony defendants, some folks need a good talking to. If I were in your place, if allowed, I would have ordered Inspector Quinn (presuming he is an armed police officer) to serve a Body Attachment and bring this boyfriend before me. On many occasions, defendants panic when they go before a Judge such as yourself and that is all they need to move on and behave in society. I know since I have personally followed-up on many defendants who changed their lives around because of a Judge who took the time and cared.

I really hope that woman gets sober. I know how bad addiction is and how hard it is to get sober. My heart breaks for her. So many people don’t understand addiction and don’t understand that NO ONE wants to live life like that, TRUST ME. We need more people who understand addiction and CARE about the addicted.

For the 2nd video, I literally paused the video and thought what would I do if I were the judge. I can’t fine her, I can’t be too tough to her, it’ll only make her conditions worse. But I can’t also dismiss and let her go, because it’s not just traffic violation, it’s a crime. I always feel better when Judge Caprio says, "take all the time you need to pay". Or, "you can work out a payment plan with Gertrude. Take as long as you need." But, I can't help wonder if the people with the tickets think he is being sarcastic when he says to take their time paying.

I would like to just say what a intelligent carrying judge that Frank Caprio does for people this day in age. I have been in the courtroom many times on different occasions that the judges just does not give a s*** about the average person they think that they have more power then everybody else. It's funny how the world goes round anymore. I would say this that most of our judges attorneys deputies Troopers Exedra in Michigan have attitude problems as well as they cannot sleep at night. I'll tell you this that I've owned my own business for 36 years as well as a correction officer in the prison system it just seems like you cannot trust anyone for a handshake agreement or find a person with a good positive attitude towards the law as judge Frank Caprio. Thank you

Mr Caprio, it's really a basic need.. As an elderly person you need to give advise to kids in their 20s or 30s or even at 40s. Every individual needs help..and the experience you have with individuals is remarkable. Please do share..

If I knew the first girl personally, my advice to her would be - as you get back to home from the court, eliminate him out of your way and your life without any second thoughts immediately. If he really loved her, he would be there in the court with her. She deserve better.

I could never do that to my girl. My wife offered me money to get a Bluetooth for my trucks that I drive, I told her no I can handle it. My wife offered me money for a down payment on a car and I said no, I make more money. Women are so precious and if they love you, a man can get whatever he wants, but if you love them, you would never do something like this to them. My wife is awesome.
