Agreed, sounds like he’s underwater. 🤦🏻 Especially disappointing when you consider how much better Apple’s new webcams on the M1 Macs (especially 24” iMac) have become.
Far and away the most fan noise I've heard them inadvertently pick up. They've held mics directly beside other fans and it's been quieter than that thing.
I appreciate that you pretty much always mention the TDP of gpus. I hate that manufacturers are leaving that out when it is soooo important in the mobile pc gaming space.
Yeah, it's especially annoying since Nvidia mandated having to specify TGP on laptops and yet still plenty of manufacturers aren't listing it on their specs.
Simple rule. Since 1 lbs = 0.45 kg = 9/20 kg = (10/20-1/20) kg = (1-0.1) * 1/2 kg, you take half the number of pounds and subtract an additional 10% of that. In our example: 4.8 lbs. Half of that is 2.4 . 10% of 2.4 is 0.24. So we get 4.8 lbs = 2.4 kg - 0.24 kg = 2.16 kg, which is approximately 2.2 kg. Of course, you could divide by 2.2 (2.2222222... to be precise), but that will require a calculator for most. This method can be done in your head.
@@hmmob3956 it’s not difficult to divide by 2.2, and I’ve failed maths 3 times in a row, if someone can’t do that they’re more of a failure than I am, and that’s depressing to think about
As someone from Europe, THANK YOU for saying it in kg as well :D Not that it's hard to pause the video and google it, at least after one learns that "lbs" is the short for "pounds" :S
@@bgezal Canada uses imperial. They included kg for the convenience of anyone too insulted to have to divide the weight in half (roughly). Source: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s95cxZkC_es.html Also, do y’all “civilized people” (as he put it) measure screen sizes in mm? The idea just sounds so bizarre to me.
@@levygaming3133 Your source is a bit imperial minded as indicated by the video comments both Canadian and international. In Europe screen sizes are usually given both in inches and cm. As well as a car's engine effect is given in kW but most often also Hp. It's those kind of measurements you never really use except for comparisons, so the old style stay strong. As for Canada I went on amazon.ca and looked up the first laptop I could find. It was a 15.6" screen but the dimensions were 51.6 x 31.6 x 9.4 cm; 2.94 Kilograms. Alex is correct to use kg when talking about laptops. I also went to Samsung's Korean homepage, where all TV's were only given in cm, like "Neo QLED 8K 214 cm", but had a button for opening a conversion table to inches. When I opened the French Samsung page all TV's were given in inches only. It's not that hard to switch to a new system of measuring. The metric countries are a proof of this, but think about EU countries switching to Euros. For a few years the prices in a converting country were told in old currency and EUR, then halfway prices were told in EUR and old currency. Then the switch was done and only EUR was used, and it worked fine.
My guess is the Intel ran at least about 100W to get 4626, but could be more since cinebench wasn't using the GPU. Shows how much of a performance gap there still is.
@@ferdievanschalkwyk1669 have you heard the noise of AMD during CPU stress test? It's there the same. Once CPU cool off throttle back the fan will stop. The key thing is how soon they want to throttle back Ryzen and you'll get lesser performance.
Plastic, those hinges give me the jitters, they are so easy to break if you drop it, they are expensive to fix. Least make the hinges metal or carbon to protect the monitor cables and wifi antenna.

Given my own experience, it sure looks like Intel is back in the laptop CPU game again. Their new integrated graphics are pretty decent too. Not good enough for hardcore gamers, but still impressive for an APU.
Own it (Australia). Its bloody awesome. Very powerful. PROS.. lighter, quieter and smaller than I thought. I really like the look (simple and clean). RGB? No but its now got stickers. Lots of awesome stickers. Keyboard lights are really nice. Typing is nice. Monitor looks good to me. Bright. Power cable is not an issue at all. The right angle connection allows a good fit and won't pop out moving laptop around. Really I like everything except... USB's on the right side. They're in a bad place as cables stick right out. Its fine if you get right angle connections or nothing is plugged in when you game. Left side is lacking in ports. This is a left handed people I guess but its fine. Whatever. Fusion software, its ok but LED keyboard is bad. Lights reset to unicorn spew every boot but opening software turns things back to your settings. No fix for this. For the price ill put up with it. If you love LED light customization you might need to go elsewhere. Not for unplugging, battery is rubbish. Its a desk and couch laptop. Also, be sure your seller looks after your warranty. Don't get direct Gigabyte warranty support. They're bloody terrible.
@@jaanjaved4680 It still runs well. The CPU isnt anything abnormal. It does get hot but I haven't noticed performance decreases from thermal throttling. Full disclosure I have fallen back to playing some older games that aren't taxing it too hard. For the money it I am happy with the purchase but in 2022 I wouldn't step up to the next gen
I got a Zephyrus G14 a few weeks ago with a Ryzen 9 processor and 3060. Fan noise is extremely quiet. I thought I'd maybe regret my decision after seeing this video, but after seeing the build quality, hearing those FANS, and seeing the relatively small performance difference...not to mention the way, way higher price, I think I'm happy lol
"Quietness" - it's so loud that you can easily hear it despite the mic being quite a ways off - online articles also confirm this to be a 50+ dB(A) machine - that is loud by every definition. Don't sugarcoat just because Aorus paid for the promo, please, it's a disservice to viewers who trust what you say.
(8:54) Alex : Intel would hate me using cinebench Intel on stage during their tiger lake presentation "And our imitators using benchmarks like cinebench which has a very niche usefulness"
With the gpu shortage a gaming laptop is starting to be the best budget option. Considering thet a 1660 is selling for the price of a decent laptop WITH THE SAME CARD.

Yeah, this is quite a mediocre product yet their selling it hard. I mean, at least be honest with the blatantly obvious things (very loud fans, hot internals (actually log them, don't alt tab and wait a minute for it to cool down before checking), the absolutely disgusting camera and microphone, the missing battery life and mushy keyboard.

i just purchased this laptop with an upgrade to 32GB RAM. so, yes, the fans ramp up like crazy when you throw a processing load at it. It whines really loud. Power saving is really aggressive on battery if you aren't doing heavy processing loads though. I got 4715 on Cinebench (plugged into the mains) and 1246 on battery saving mode so LTT's test is legit. overall, enjoying the 11th gen and RTX3080, and the weight is definitely a throwback to the laptops in the early 2000's which broke my back

They have the thick bezel at the bottom, use that The logo there is stupid, or maybe stealthily integrate it into the logo, wouldn't that be amazing? If you don't do a 16:10 screen
Yup, somehow gaming laptops have barely had price mark ups.

Also, I get better performance out of the GPU with it plugged directly into an external monitor rather than the signal needing to be processed through the CPU and then sent to the laptops screen.
I have last year's edition with the i7-10875H + RTX 2080 Super Max-Q and I absolutely love it. Before that I have never owned a Gigabyte laptop and I must say I am very impressed with its overall build quality. It came with Omron keys which are a sensation to typed with. The 300 Hz screen doesn't make any different since I can easily max out my GPU settings.
This short felt like I was watching an ad about an ad. I generally like these videos but something about this felt devoid of any soul. Or as that laptops fans would say SHhhHHHHHHHhhhh
"GPU is at 65°, that's really good." It better be. Sounds like you're sitting beside a Port-a-Cool fan. I'm surprised he didn't even comment on it. That's probably the most fan noise I've heard them pick up on a mic without even trying.
Yeah and its sadly not at 65, he alt tab bed and by the time he opened TM, it had dropped. Actual load temps range from 75 to 85 for the GPU and from 85 to 95 for the CPU. It's a horrible cooling assembly for this kind of hardware.
I could confirm what he said is actually true. I'm using the Aorus 15 right now. And... actually, it's kinda amazing. The stock Windows and software comes it sucks. But after reinstalling Windows. This thing rocks man. The build is super solid. I'd say it's just behind Razer Blade (I'm using the Blade 15 too). The keyboard, well... very good. It feels much better than Blade 15's. And better than the legion 5's too. (Just my personal perspective) Speakers, well... again Blade 15 and Legion 5 are far off. The trackpad is better than the legion 5 but seems small compared to the Blade 15. Although I'd prefer the Aorus click mechanic (very tactile and pronounced). The hinge is not so good (that's the down point). The performance is excellent tho. Super well cooled, I mean my hands are freaking cool while gaming. overall very worth it. It maybe will dethrone my Blade 15 lmao.

@@ademiravdicIt's impossible to know what's happening in people's heads so it's possible that it's benign, but in my line of work, it's huge red flags for people to show this kind of bias. He opens the video by saying the product is good even though he hasn't seen it possibly because that's the default editorial direction of sponsored videos, then thankfully he mentions that it's sponsored. Then he basically admits that there an awkward conversation in sight if the review is negative. It's the usual conundrum - LTT wants to be unbiased, but they benefit from these sponsorships and they have incentives, regardless of whether they act on them or not, to give positive opinions on products, especially when they don't label the videos as "reviews". This is in stark contrast to publications like Gamers Nexus, which admittedly stunts their growth, but they get to maintain a sustainable size and definitely more credibility than LTT and its satellites imo in terms of integrity. That being said I trust LTT a whole lot more than I do some others. Look at Unbox Therapy for instance. Identical behavior for sponsored products, but Unbox Therapy will put any product in a positive light for enough money. LTT tries to be impartial but it's a huge company now with serious operational costs. All I'm saying about this video in particular though is that I found the behavior at least somewhat suspicious.
The thing is, even if you don't care about power efficiency on desktop. (power is expensive in the UK so I do), on a laptop it does matter. It's heat, it's noise, it's battery.
Damn that thing is loud... The fans that is. And where you really pressing on the chassis? It seems as if you weren't pressing as hard as I've seen you press on other chassis like the ones from Dell.

It's higher actually, even higher than R9 4900H. Also there are a lot of factors affecting performance, take the average score instead of using one result.
Yeah sure that """wasn't "" a bias review. those fans were super loud during game play. bet it flex's a lot more. wifi6 is a technology not a device. you can still get a bad wifi6 version card. speakers were slightly tingy and webcam was dreadful. i love the channel and the team. but it seemed like they were trying to full fill all the talking points without being too negative. they have been plenty non bias in other videos. but i feel not so in this one.
