I know there are people who credit this as the comic that sunk the industry, there completely wrong as i feel there are multiple factors that contributed to it, but i always found the death and return of Superman to be a well written and well told story. While very much a 90s comic is part of the 90s DC era which despite some fashion, slang, and extreeeeeeme elements still tried to maintain a more timeless quality unlike much of Marvel and most of Image at the time. You can pick this book up and still enjoy it very much today and from death to this story is very much on the list of trade paperbacks i recommend to people who want to get into comics.
Absolutely. Unfortunately, every big event story tends to get a lot of hate thrown at it, probably because they tend to upset the status quo, but I typically love them. Death and Return are some of my favorite Superman comics, certainly the stories I've reread the most over the years.
