+ponchomkr Same here actually. I suppose it has something to do with the development of the brain, maybe you just can't multitask like this when you're too young.
This part of the game was so amazing to me as a child. I know these are just simple PS2 graphics but with a child's imagination and the music in the background, it all felt and looked so real haha
Nah. Pelennor fields is WAAAAY Harder. Try using a hobbit in that level I dare ya. Lol. The only way every level is easy if you maximize Legolas or especially Gandalf . They're like the most OP Charectors in the game .
Still holds up today I'd say in terms of gameplay. Yes the graphics are bit dated but it is still an awesome play, not too easy, very challenging, great music, great visuals for the time, action packed.
Gotta be honest, this is one of the best levels i have ever played in my life, you can feel the overwhelming force of Mordor, you feel the pressure of being overrun any second and the final scenes omg, running down the stairs with the rest of the soldiers while Gandalf yells "Lend me your swords" gives you the chills. 11/10 i need a remaster or a re release on steam
I used to play this on my PC way back when I was a kid. I was just watching TV now when the thought of this game randomly just struck my mind and I searched it up and now I'm seeing this video. Thanks for refreshing my memories.
Yep I once decided to pretend i was an npc ranger with faramir and suddenly got a 10k xp kill while I was mindlessly shooting arrows. Thats how I found out about it.
Thanks for the video! I've been playing the PC version of this game for about a week now and absolutely love it. I beat the Hobbit PC game not too long ago, and now I'm doing my best to beat this one. This level really confused me, and I had no clue what to do until I watched this. Now to get back to playing and trying to beat it.
So embarrassing looking back on this now, but when I was a kid I couldn't work out why I kept failing the mission. After what must have been weeks of frustration I finally realised there was a whole extra part of the wall to the left of the starting point that I could go on. For some reason I never noticed it was there and only by accident did I end up running in that direction and being like WTF.....
It was kinda shock to me when I realized (on my tenth run of this game, lol) that you can go up on the towers and command the catapults to destroy siege towers, so blue signs on a "minimap" were there for a reason.
An interesting and rarely heard dialouge happened once during one my playthroughs. Before clearing the final tower, for some reason, the sound effects that play during the Grond played earlier, then after the Grond scene, Gandalf says: "Grond, born out of Dark Lord's malice!" Then the 'gates cannot withstand it' played.
Thank you very much, I tried this mission for 5 hours, and every time bloody orks overcome me, each time no effect of killing hundreds of orks, I though that Dark Lord whant exactly my wall =) due to the bad translating I didn't know how to puch ladders and after 7 ladder they overcome each time. It's so simple to get XP at this mission just left 4-5 ladders and smach you'r enemies with great power of Light (or pro-skill of you'r hands)
Thanks man =) And yes, this level is quite hard, especially when you have Gandalf on level 1 or something. Btw, you might want to see my other video, with all the combos from ROTK, you can find the link in the video.
At 5:53 you can climb to the top of the tower, shot from a catapult, and then kill the flying creature under the Nazgul. Then on top of the tower you can find several bonuses. In addition, you can kill the winged creature under the Nazgul on the site of the last battle. You can get another 2000 or even 4000 points, which is in the process of starting the game is very good!
i remember playing this game with my brother...took us ages before we found out that the ladders could be pushed back...back in the days you had to figure things out yourself...i kind of liked that :)
I used to play this game as Legolas and I destroyed this level and had mostly a perfect kill rating with a few excellent! My Nephew played as Gandalf and we were unstoppable! We loved killing the Trolls, we called it "Troll time." The Black Gate level is awesome!
Ah this game brings back memories. Loved this mission. Sure it was a pain but it the most fun mission i've played in Return of the king other then the black gate. Now that! that was a unforgiving mission on easy even for me.
When I'm getting my ass handed to me at my job, working two stations, multitasking and remembering a huge list of things I need to do and in which order I need to do them... I think back to playing this level as a kid and it's still not as stressful.
I used to stress about the Gondorians all dying in the end so I wanted to be ready to run down the stairs as quickly as could. Once I was the first one down and not a single soldier lay dead around Gandalf after the gate burst.
Hello there, my Gandalf was fully upgraded, so his staff blasts wery very strong and way faster to destroy the siege towers instead of using the catapults. If I'm not mistaken there is anoter catapult, more to the right. Or maybe you can hit both targets with the same catapult? Has been a while since I played this level.
Yes I have it for Ps2, but I have just one question, when you destroyed the siege towers, why didn't you use the catapault and how did you blow it up with one staff blast? I can't destroy the second siege tower because there's no catapault there can I do that with my wizards staff? Thank you in advance because this really irks me that there's only I catapault that I can find.
