With a heavily delayed departure from Scarborough due to a broken down unit blocking the platform the Charter was able to pull back time with some keen running up to Hellifield where after a water stop the charter departed on time, we see 44871 with eleven on and 47848 on the rear from the top of Giggleswick Bank as the light was fading, hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.

Thanks David, It had been a clear sky as the sun went down so that gave us some extra time before it was dark, and if she was late it would have been a blackout, cheers 👍

The bank is a fine place to capture a loco working well and the dim light adds atmosphere to the shot. Take care - Chris

Well you kept your promise... 'She' sounded in perfect control - clear exhaust showing a 'feather' crew on top of the job. Rather bizarre 3-headlamp code Nige, as 4 headlamps would signify the Royal Train. Now there's a talking point 😊 Thanks again Nige - keep 'em coming.👌

Lovely camera work Nige. Shame the light didn't hide those awful Mk3 coaches and those traveling on the train will have missed the great sound of the loco working hard.🤔

Thanks Mark, it’s unfortunate that West Coast are still using the Mk3 air con stock and as you say suppressing that great sound the Black 5 was making on the climb so how long this situation is going to go on for is anyone’s guess, cheers nige 👍
