Another fine showing from The Review Crew. Always interesting to hear Ryan's "non-metal" recommendations and having Rick LaBonte and Scott Berry this week in the Jamie made for a great episode. Thanks for mentioning the Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars single. Will be giving that a listen along with many of the albums discussed. Thanks to The Crew!

Yall are really delivering, great work! I struggled with even Fontaines D.C.'s second album, as it felt way too subdued. And yet as the new album approached I found myself returning to the 2nd and 3rd albums and liking them more. Enjoying the new one, though Uncut calling it "apocalyptic sci-fi stadium rock" is way off the mark. And this hyperbole: "In its own way, Romance is as grand as the Bunnymen's Ocean Rain, The Cure's Disintegration, Radiohead's OK Computer or Arcade Fire's Funeral." Oof. Well I'd at least rate it better than Funeral, which is overrated. They still sound subdued to me, but that's okay, if I can dig later Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (Wild God is great on first couple spins), then I can get onboard with that. Great find with The Other Sun! RYM is calling it goth, but really it's full on psych noir, totally my thing. Emu sounds promising too, asses are better kicked than pampered ;) Demon & Eleven Children, very cool. Wow man, The Flying Luttenbachers, that's a surprise! I saw them live many times three decades ago, and used to chat with Weasel Walter when he worked at a record store in my neighborhood.

Scott, that band photo looks like a typical American screamo band marketed as black metal by Candlelight records in 2010.

Grand Funk should be in the RNRHOF cuz from 69-74 they had 5 gold albums, 4 platinum and 2 double-platinum albums. and they sold out shea stadium faster than the beatles!

Anyone see the Documentary on Hipgnosis. It's called "Squaring the Circle" Thought it was very well done.

I forgot to comment on here two days, but there are three albums I will discuss a bit. Jack White - No Name Probably his second best solo album after 2014's Lazaretto. The loud garage rock sound is back! Scene Queen - Hot Singles in Your Area The full length debut album from this crazy singer/rapper. Her music mixes metalcore, nu-metal, hip-hop and bubblegum pop. She's kind of like a cross between Kesha, Poppy, and a female version of Eminem. Her lyrics are dirty as fuck, too. This album, along with her previously released EPs Bimbocore and Bimbocore Vol. 2, is my latest guilty pleasure. And "18+" might be aimed at that douchebag Ian Watkins from the Lostprophets! Wraith - Fueled by Fear The latest from this absolute kickass blackened thrash metal band from Indiana.

Is it just me that thinks Magnum when they hear the Killers song Bright lights. Not the first time either remember hearing a Brandon Flowers song I thought sounded like Magnum .

I finally bought the latest Spidergawd VII album from last year and also finally bought Close to the Edge. First one sounds like a solid effort and still neesd more time with Yes. It's on such a prog pedestal. Will check out Emu, Demon and The Other Sun.

Two of the best albums released this year are Dödsrit - Nocturnal Will (black metal) and Hamferð - Men Guðs Hond er Sterk(Doom)

It would be interesting to publish a list of the proposed albums.
