We finally have the pulleys from GripTec figured out and correct. We strip the valve cover for paint The new Denso Compressor shows up. $224 Amazon We install the supercharger kit and share some tips. Getting closer
John and George u guys are great man.. I own a shop in Jacksonville NC we mainly do Honda/Acura but we have branched into doing corvettes and other v8s as well..You guys are such a inspiration.. I've said it on previous videos a year or 2 ago but it gives me hope through the tougher times of being a business owner .. I appreciate the builds u do it has made me do a better job and take more pride in my work . So just wanted to say thank you
Thanks for the kind words. The best advice I can give is to work in the stuff you enjoy and feel like you can put pride into. Stay small enough to care and easily cover the over head so you don’t have over sell. Being honest and talking customers out of wasting more will come back ten fold. Your in NC, you come out to the Dragon meet Oct 17th.
John, I am one of those guys who has finally gotten back to my long-term project, a '92 Civic EG which I am currently k-swapping in Scotland. I have watched your videos for a few years now and taken inspiration from all of your builds. Top work as always. 👍
John, never minded the 30 min videos. Always love to see the build take shape. Keep up the great work. I hope you know the videos are you enjoying life. That’s what I feel and that’s why I keep coming back every new video drop.
Been watching almost all of their uploads. Their Content is very helpful specially with the supercharger contents since it’s already discontinued. I hope I can meet you guys one day. I live in the 🇵🇭 (Philippines) and these blowers are very expensive here. I have a stock one on an ek3 with a jdm itr swap. Looking foward to buy the s-tube and the throttle body soon. Very thankful for these guys 🙏🏼👌🏼.
Lol. I was about the throw the glasses away they were scratched up ( cheap safety glasses )when I remembered Casey painting the frames on his. The music I selected sounded Casey like too.
Thank you so much for the video. I removed the Supercharger from my CRX due to very high inlet temperatures. Looking forward to the store back open so I can cool it down a bit. Thanks again!
John, these videos keep me motivated to get my S2000 finished, all we have left to fix is an issue where at high rpm there feels almost like a fuel cut at 7k and a flashing check engine light comes on that immediately goes away, only code shows as a misfire. And after 3 days sitting in the garage the battery was drained. I am pretty sure it is an electrical issue at this point but thought I would ask if it is something anyone watched has heard of, I have brand new OEM injectors, wiring harness looks pretty schetchy from 7 previous owners. But hey 8 thousand dollar s2000 3 years ago sounded nice :D
Saw a video with similar issue, think it was a PFI video, coil pack, vtec solenoid, or map sensor issue on that vehicle, can't remember. Correct, flashing check engine light is indicating a misfire. If stock ECU (no Hondata etc...) get an OBDII bluetooth dongle and "Torque PRO" APP for Android and datalog a pull. There are add-on APP's "Realtime charts" and "Graphing" that will allow you to see what is going on with the data right from your device. Actually I remember I had a similar sounding issue where the engine would break up (sounded like fuel cut) as soon as it went into boost but only when driving above sea-level elevation (road trips), never got a code or flashing check engine but just swapped all coil packs for new and fixed my issue. Other than that, and with the wiring being sketchy as you say make sure your grounds are in the proper OEM locations and that they are clean of corrosion strip the paint behind ground points on body. It never hurts to add extra grounds, I run three 2 gauge wire grounds from engine/trans to the body and you can feel/see the benefit at idle or watching the headlight brightness fluctuation. Good luck and post up if the issue gets resolved!
I hope you were able to save your glasses. I also love the Jackson Nemesis safety glasses and even though I have a draw full of them I get upset when I lose or damage a pair like they were 100 dollars. Great video; thanks for the entertainment.
Cleaned my engine bay, changed the oil (used Honda oil filter), and wash will come Saturday before heading to Tail. Excited. I'm driving from Nashville and staying at Fontana Village Resort just south of the dam. They have a disc golf course and I'll be bringing my discs if anyone like to meetup and play Saturday afternoon and/or Sunday morning.
The grind is real, John. Glad your pc is up and running. A podcast would be awesome. Definitely would like to hear you guys discuss how your passion has led to LHT Performance and why you chose imports vs domestics? Or maybe discuss what your absolute dream build has been/would be as well as what is the hardest learning experience you’ve faced or had throughout your years of working on these awesome machines. I have been looking forward to each Friday to see your updates and I am never disappointed. Not sure if my 2 cents matter but definitely take a day of rest. You may even want to go as far as to reconsider what a possible plan B would be in case everything doesn’t come through by the Dragon meet. I say that with your previous 2001 GSR restore/rebuild in mind, seeing how freakin amazing that thing was as you were able take your time on that. Would definitely love to see something similar with this build. Either way, I’m very excited and happy to see the progress. Wishing and hoping for nothing but the best with this project.
Thanks for the comment buddy. A podcast will be after the Dragon trip. Plan B will be take the S2000, it does need an exhaust as it’s kinda boring. Plan C would be the GT4 . I like to Porsche but it’s primarily a Honda meet and Hondas are my first love.
@@LHTPerformance yeah a lot of people will use sealing tape on every thread they se....I've seen people use it on the oil pan drain bolt. when a crush washer is enough lol
@@LHTPerformance yes it is lol i see it alot when helping my friends with their cars haha I have a huge question. Ive always been a big fan of your work and I wished I was in Florida to get some custom work done by you on my car, sadly I'm in California. If I ever wanted some custom work done for my car, would you be able to work with me on getting some work and shipping it? I would pay anything to get your work onto my car. Just love what you do, and you are a great person.
Let us know what you’re looking to do. I don’t do custom fab work without the car or a good fixture. I hate to build part when I have a doubt they may not fit.
That LHT intake manifold is sick great design. Is there any way you can make a liquid cooled intake manifold for a 8th gen Civic. Like a water to air set up but built inside the intake I know the throttle bodies liquid cooled but I think it'd be sick to have water to air built into the intake manifold. (N/a motor going turbo)
You guys have great content and keep it up. With the new pulleys you guys have made, are you going to make a corresponding crank pulley with the grip tech and maybe even better syncing with the other pulleys as far as size and better design? Thanks for what you do
Thanks. The crank pulley has never been the issue. The larger diameter pulleys have more contact surface and very little chance of slip. The smaller pulleys are the issue. We’ll talk about boost level on different motors with the different crank pulleys later on.
Dropping gems for the jrsc install. So good to see it first hand instead of reading all the old forums. Any idea when the pulley kit will be available in the store? And expected price range? Definitely do the podcast 👍
Once we have the belt and can be sure everything is good we’ll get a price from the pair with the correct belt. I’m kinda afraid as GripTec hasn’t sent me a bill for what we’ve don’t yet. We have about 6 over night shipping fees alone. Lol.
Fingers crossed on the bill 😆. I’ll be back soon and it’s going to take everything in me not to open and install the S tube or throttle body. Enjoy the trip and safe travels.
Just curious if you guys have any turbo's that are ac/ps freindly laying around you would sell? I bought the inline pro manifold. I tried to Mimic the bl5858 you guys put on the red integra, but the 5 bolt is no longer available and boost lab cannot source them. Im not sure what would be a good alternative.
I have a question. Did you have any fitment issues with the alternator pulley from JR hitting the frame rail? I am in the process of installing mine and it was rubbing on the frame rail. I can move it slightly away, but the problem is the clearance is too narrow between the pulley and frame rail so it could potentially hit it again if there is a lot of load moving towards the driver side
@@LHTPerformance I am currently installing it in my eg hatch at the moment. The connector for the alternator also sits right behind the support bracket for the supercharger
Hey if it's not too much can you guys start making supercharger manifolds for D & B series maybe also f&h series perhaps use the TV s900 supercharger or something I don't know just a thought I have cash
I have question John. Was hoping you could help me answer it I always had this in mind: Build EK Hatch, K swap it, power steering delete, water pump delete and ac compressor delete. But I still want all of that, so put eps(motor assist) of 9th gen civic along with the computer, electric water pump(probably from KTune), and electric(full electric, not with aftermarket pump and tubes to the rack kind of thing) ac compressor as well Is that possible? So get all those things without stealing any from precious K
