Listen. When my husband was going through cancer treatments my 3 year old when through behavior problems. One involves getting into his pull up if he had an accident. Was it awful to clean up? Yes. Was it an indication that he was going through the same trauma we all were? Yes. We helped him and loved him. He’s doing great now, but most importantly knows we love him (and he’s not terrified of us.) Even a kid without a processing disorder would struggle with this treatment. This poor boy… hurts my mama heart to watch him scream in fear that he didn’t do it. These parents are insane, and they are raising soon-to-be traumatized adults.

Literally going to therapy right now, because of behavior like that from my own father. No matter how hard it is for you, just know if you don’t show them love, they will develop more “problems” . You feel abandoned, dead inside, conflicted about your feelings and your own parents feelings, you feel alone. It really is important to learn how to discipline children, without screaming in their face, letting your anger or feelings go further than just disciplining and leaving the child alone. You don’t need to bully them. Im scared of my father and I always will be. I am living proof of what happens when you treat your kids like that, especially with the self harm thing. My dad did the same to me when I just told him he makes me suicidal when I was younger. I never self harmed, just expressed my feelings to him snd it set him off, he told me to do it, so that really hit home. I’m in a better place now but it really messed me up when I was a kid just FYI

I was here for this entire daddyo5 situation, two of the kids (cody and the little girl) were “legally” kidnapped because the two parents forged custody documents. Today both the kids have been taken away and given back to their birth mother who was looking for them for years. These two kids will have to live with this trauma for their entire life.

When I lived with my mom (alchoholic) she married an abusive man and they pulled this tag team shit all the time and would make stuff up that my little brother did and make him want to kill himself because he had to lay on the floor all day because he “stole a jar of pickles” from the fridge. It’s very hard living in this type of environment because nothing is stable because you never know what is going to happen next or when your going to get screamed at or severely punished for nothing. This hit a very personal note and I feel so bad for those kids, hope they’re doing well now.

My understanding on the whole “level” thing is that if they are on level one they don’t get to play outside, have their tv and Xbox, etc. Level two- they get to do/have those things. Only thing is that only the two kids the dad has, with another woman, are on this levels thing. I feel so bad for Cody..his dad also let’s the oldest continue to beat up and harass him. The dad tells him to stop, but smirks and laughs about it when saying it

Super late, but I HATE the sensoring of words in the way we do. We are creating fear of the word that makes it harder for victims to speak out. It was hard enough to report child abuse to a CPS agent who didn't care, I couldn't imagine the precieved need to sensor the word. We are teaching children and young adults to be afraid of words and giving those words more power than they already have.

I wouldn’t recommend punishment for all of your children based off of the actions of one. Have a brother with ADHD but we didn’t know at the time. He would constantly start really stupid fights for no reason, some physical, where he got mad and started beating me ( he’s 4 years younger but at the time we were both young and that shit hurt) but instead of punishing him for hurting me, I also got punished for defending myself. It causes a lot of resentment and that’s not how to prepare them for the real world. If my brother were doing that now that we’re both adults, he would go to jail, and i would not. He would catch on to this pattern that I would get in trouble too if he caused problems, so when he was mad, he’d get us both in trouble. Just wouldn’t do that to my old children because it destroyed my relationship with my brother and my parents.

@@milk8914 anger issues are actually common with ADHD. Emotional regulation in children with ADHD is difficult for them. He didn’t understand when he was younger so that confusion became anger. Feel free to look into it!

Idk why you dont think he understands that there are goin to be exceptions. But over all yes it is better to discipline all children if one acts out. It literally helps make sure the kid doesnt jus think you dont like them an as papa said, most children dont wanna get others in trouble due to their own actions.

“Levels” refer to the kids’ privileges depending on their behavior, so like level 1 they are able to play outside, level 2 they can watch TV, and level 3 they can play video games. Mysteriously though the videos only show Cody and Emma (the two “newer” kids) being under this level system, and Mike only threatening Cody with reducing his level. The other kids were just as bad, if not worse, but they were never under the level system

The way this video doesn’t really show how abusive the dad is.. he’s grabbed the daughter by the neck and dragged her upstairs, he’s slammed Alex into a wall, hes also slammed Cody into a bookshelf and has punched him on the arm. That’s not even a quarter of what hes done..

ODD is a thing. I mean, I suppose it COULD stem from poor parenting. Im a good mom, though, and my 6 yo has ODD. Her dad has ADHD and apparently was CHAOS when he was around her age and his mom is fucking awesome. Sometimes it happens, parents just need to be on top of it and find what works for them (in a healthy way). I can say firsthand that ODD is mega frustrating but that’s no excuse for being so mean and cruel. Edit: Wanted to clarify that I’m not comparing ODD and ADHD. I’m just saying that the way they acted (mean and wild af being the primary focus) would’ve probably been portrayed as a result of “poor parenting” when viewed from the outside. Also: Love the videos, Papa Gut! One of these days I’ll catch you live haha

I looked into this. You don't want to know what they did to the little girl. There's a video where she says she can't take it and wants to kill herself. They tried to bleep it out, but what she is saying is pretty obvious. two pre teens that are either self mutilating, or openly saying they want to die. And some dumb person said that they had ODD, which is not a thing, because for some reason it only shows up in beaten children. Reported by parents that use "physical disapline" It's an excuse to hurt them.

If you think that is bad, hoo boy. In another video, “Microwaved Pokémon Cards”, Emma’s stepbrothers harass her by pulling her hair and lunging at her, and when she gets upset and eventually begins crying, her dad punishes her. She later begs him to get her brothers to turn off the camera, but his response is, almost verbatim “no, if you’re gonna act stupid, we’re gonna get it on camera. You know how we roll!” After they harassed her some more, her father grabbed her by the back of her neck and took her up to her room, at which point he finally told his son to shut off the camera. I do have to disagree with the ODD thing you said though. There’s scientific literature about it - saying it doesn’t exist or that it’s just a kid’s behavior is like saying autism doesn’t exist and that a kid is just less intelligent

I just wanna give Cody a hug. As a mom with a boy about that age who also has some issues this is so heart breaking to watch. I teared up hearing that poor baby plead that it wasn't him like his life depended on it. My son acts out too due to some issues he has and I could never imagine screaming at my kid like that ever let alone editing it and posting it to the world. Holy fuck dude

ODD isn’t caused by bad parenting, strictly speaking, the disordered behaviors can be learned from shitty parents. Like if the kid isn’t being taught how to be emotionally independent or if they’re being abused/neglected, the child will naturally lash out at the people around them (in the case of ODD, at authority figures like parents and teachers). It’s also frequently seen in children who also have ADHD or autism. I’m so fucking glad that Cody and his sister are away from those psychos and back with their mom. I hope these abusers never live this down.

I actually had my mom smash my first phone when I was younger because I did something I didn’t know was bad and she found out by snooping through my phone instead of teaching me why it was wrong. When I asked for the phone back she handed me the pieces. I believe I was 15 or so. Now at 22 I still keep a lot of things to myself. I also have an inferiority complex due to being constantly compared to my siblings. I get the ink situation because I had the same thing happen but with a McDonald’s fish sandwich (I know pathetic) but my younger brother sat there and watched my 6 foot tall father who was also mostly muscle get in my face and scream at me until I had a mental breakdown which was when he finally confessed that he ate it. My father then started screaming and asking my brother why he sat there and watched it happen. I was born the middle child and the stigma of the middle child being mistreated is absolutely something I went through.

Hey Papa, I fell down the rabbit hole on this channel a while back. I can't remember specifically what a "level" was but I believe it had to do with the points they accrued which would allow them to make their own video. It was extremely weird. Bascially the dad and mom would allow the kids to make a video they wanted (like them showing off their toys) if they got enough points. Essentially bribing the kids to let the parents do what they want and just incentiviting bad behavior and bullying. Absolutely horrible people and parents. Anyway, love to you and MG

Im pretty sure imallex is the one that brought attention to the situation and philip defranco just picked it up and basically took credit. If i remember correctly imallex was even working with the real mom to try to get the kids removed from the abusive home. Dont get me wrong it's good that defranco made the video cause he had a bigger reach. Im just saying the lack of research and left out info is annoying (in regards to the guy that made the video, not papa)
