This group made up of Wyclef Jean, Lauryn Hill, and Pras Michel was with us for only a few short years in the ‘90s, and only released two studio albums. Whatever they lacked in quantity though, they more than delivered in quality. In fact, their second, and to date last, album they released has been touted by many critics to be one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever. So, what happened? Why didn’t this trio go on to produce many more masterpieces and, no doubt, reach even further heights in hip hop history?

You better come through with the facts!!! Thanks for this comment! I was about to forget about Nicole Wray's debut being in 1998 also. I didn't know it was on the exact same day though. Wow. August 25th is also the same day Aaliyah died in 2001.

The fugees were sooo good in the 90s!!! So glad I grew up in NYC in the 80s and 90s. I got exposed to the best music. Man, I miss dancehall reggae too! Can we bring the 90s back?

Lauryn’s the type of person that she can’t walk into the room because the vibe, chakra and gravitational pull are not alighted! During Lauryn’s video, what needs to be discussed, how she would tell people her and Rohan were (spiritually) married but he was still married to another woman. How Rohan had a children with her lauryn’s cousin that was her assistant (and I think was pregnant around the same time as Lauryn), her vibe magazine interview, how odd it was and all that mess!

I’m glad things got patched up, but for you to be married and sleeping around only to blame the second woman. It takes two to tango, but you sir were supposed to be off the market from the jump street. From my understanding, Lauryn stayed out of the spot light. She loves music but she also loves that humble family dynamic. I look forward to seeing her own dedicated video. ❤

I now remember what happened to all of them on why they broke up and never reunited the first time around. But I'm now finding out that they've reunited recently performing their 5 hit songs! It's better than them not connecting ever again! When Pras is eligible for parole hopefully they can reunite again, but all of them have to be healthy enough to do it. Thanks for this update and hope all will be well for them now and into the future.

Wyclef Jean is a legend as a rapper, singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. But Wyclef Jean definitely deserves more credit as a producer. He has produced for everyone such as Shakira, MC Jin, City High, Kevin Michael, just to name few.

Fugees is one of my favorite groups of all-time. We all were bumping their music in our headsets. Most groups don’t last a long time, but they manage to release two albums before call it quits. They have reunions every once and a while .

Just from the recent pictures in this video alone, Lauryn looks like she's in a much happier and healthier place mentally than she was in the recent past. She looks good too! I'm glad to see her do something with her hair besides the basic afro/low cut she's been doing for the past few years. It had just screamed that she was in some sort of turbulent and minimalistic place mentally. Side Note: I've always found Pras to be one sexy brotha!!!

I only brought up Lauren because many people use her to put other women down, " Lauryn didn't dress like that, " Lauryn had respect for herself". I actually try not to judge but i wish people would be fair and not hold younger people to such high standards.

Tout le contenu n'est pas un bon contenu, c'est dommage que l'approche des tabloïds soit ce qu'on nous dit être grand public et tendance alors que j'apprécie cette chaîne et des chaînes similaires qui tentent de promouvoir ou de revigorer l'intérêt pour les artistes des années 90, c'est-à-dire les ventes de bandes originales de CD et la radio urbaine promouvant leur négligence de se concentrer uniquement sur la compétition de danse et de karaoké, style Las Vegas, échec familial, morceaux ou chansons tendance nous laisse dans le bside tard dans la nuit, oserais-je dire "communauté underground" totalement désintéressée et même un peu en colère contre le manque d'entreprises américaines, d'entreprises canadiennes et les entreprises britanniques n'adoptent pas une approche plus leader en matière de maintien du soutien et d'évolution avec le temps, réinventant et refaisant également de nombreux classiques qui, selon les interviews de Laryn Hill en 1993 et 1999, lui ont permis tant de succès et de reconnaissance grand public dans un monde reconnu et apprécié dans le monde entier.
