NEW FORGOTTEN GAME VIDEO: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ulIM56YYy5c.html Thanks to the 50k people that tuned into my passion project! New similar stuff coming soon, though perhaps not on a full franchise. And for my 500 subs, stay tuned! If RPCS3 ever gets multiplayer working, I'll make a video and we can organise a full lobby. Around 9:14 I mention Apocalypse was revealed at E3 2005. This is wrong, it was 2009. Yes, I am a fool. UPDATE: Pacific Rift Multiplayer is being worked on! See www.reddit.com/r/motorstorm/comments/wem026/pacific_rift_servers_important_notice/ for more info! Edit: Asking me to cover Motorstorm RC is like asking me to review Angry Birds Star Wars in a review of the Star Wars movies. Its not bad, but it's Motorstorm in name only.
so wait, would the ps2 emulator work for toca 3? if so then i may be able to play the greatest racing sim with my wheel, then once im done fuming about bad lap times i can play the greatest arcade racing games out there....then fume about bad lap times even more, SWEET!!
Motorstorm Pacific Rift was the game that made me get a PS3. I had tremendous fun and absolutely loved the music. The series was definitely under rated.
Arctic Edge avalanches are in no way "useless", even bots can make a great use of them. Aside, you are playing PS2 version in 16:9 without widescreen enabled.
I don’t care what anyone says, Sony will never be the same without Evolution Studios, not only did I play the hell out of every single motorstorm games as a kid (even the boring RC spinoff) but I also got introduced into sim racing by their last and criminally underrated title DriveClub. It’s too unfortunate the studio doesn’t exist anymore so any future releases of either MS or DC would be very unlikely to happen, I can still say however that I’m very glad to have had these games in my childhood and that I still own a PS3 to be able to play them all again one day when I want to take a nostalgic trip, it’s a shame that some of the unlockables require online play though… either way this series will always be remembered as the best imo despite shifting my interest into more realistic sim racing.
They got bought by CM who kept them as their own separate team in the same studio, gave them some amount of free rein and they made Onrush which nobody bought. Then I think they made Dirt 5, which was also a disappointment. But then CM got bought out by EA and since then they've done EA WRC and maybe an F1 game. Doubt EA will let them do anything else.
Also on Motorstorm Pacific Rift and Apocalypse, you can even select any soundtrack you want to listen while racing as long as there is saved songs on PS3 hardware.
I played the demo in a Sams Club while my family spent HOURS shopping. I had a couch or a camping chair setup in front on the massive TV and not one interruption for hours. It was phenomenal
This was my favorite series of games on the ps3, and it really sucks there's no remaster or revamp of the series for ps5 in the works. I can get the discs for my ps3 and have a blast but I'd really love to see them at 4k 60 someday, without sobering like 3k on hardware
I always loved the first, I remember trying it for the first time and finding it nearly impossible to control, worked my way up to "god" rank online and held that title for soooo long, won so many races from memorizing every bit of every track in the best vehicles to win, was a wild time.
These games were my childhood and a way for my dad, brothe rand I to bond over videogames of a topic we love IRL.. motorstorm will always be cherished in my heart
The elimination event on Paradise Beach that's ATV's only actually made me rage for the first time while playing a Motorstorm game. It took a few tries and I finally won when figured out a specific route to go the whole time, to be careful on turns, and concentrate as much as possible.
Remember playing Artic Edge when i was a little kid, i didn't knew how to progress in the game (as a Brazilian kid it was very hard to learn back then, not as common as nowadays) but it was guaranteed fun for me, because of this game, i started to like hard rock and racing. Awesome video lad, Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
I miss motorstorm so badly, I've yet to find another game series that scratches that itch of racing without any self preservation, going crazy. It's so fun, and I hope their project pulls through.
It’s a series that deserves better and gave me a great love and appreciation for presentation. Playing the first two at my uncles place who had a big tv and sound system really made the game feel huge.
Great video ! Motorstorm was one of my favourite games early on the PS3 and Pacific Rift was a great follow up. Apocalypse was cool but not my favourite of the series. I wish they were playable on the PS5 !
Hey amAzing video! I'm so very glAd that someone made a video about this secret "only a few people know this about" game, it's surely a unique and special game because it's not like just any other racing games like just fancy cringey cars but rusted powerful ones that are easily undersitimAted, I'm happy that maybe in the futre more people are gonna play this game becauss of this video
Dude you made an amazing video, it's a total tragedy what happend to this saga it had a lot of potential and it totally deserves to be with the recent generation also i didn't knew about the fan project i'm gonna be following it
I always felt like the Motorstorm series was a spiritual successor of some sort to Sony’s Jet Moto franchise in PS1 but Apocalypse had some real Aftershock vibes to it. Every time I see it I think of that track from Jet Moto 2.
@@kevincollins8620 Apocalypse was the weakest of the PS3 Motorstorm trilogy. The graphics, physics and difficulty were below that of Motorstorm and Motorstorm Pacific Rift. It doesn’t even feel like it was made by the same developer really. I think they had a rushed job and a smaller budget than they had with the first two games.
@@Underthegun897 they had a smaller budget, but the game changed the art direction to a more grounded racing style, that, in my opinion, makes it unique rather than inferior, hard to compare.
But tonight, on this small planet We're going to rock civilization DADADAA DADADAA DADADAAAA Damn I get goosebumbs every time I think about playing the OG Motorstorm on christmas eve on the brand new PS3 that my parents bought me. Or playing Pacific Rift with my dad after we were done working in the forest. Those were better times man..
Ah, this was a wonderfully fun series. When I got a PS3, for three years the only games I had were Pacific Rift and the first two Resistance games. I played the everloving hell out of all three, but PR was the one on which I wasted a majority of my youth. It really shaped what I considered to be a good racing game; I find things like Forza incredibly dull by comparison. It was always skin-of-your-teeth, adapt-on-the-fly, adrenaline-inducing madness and I loved every second of it. The variety of tracks, sheer colour and effusive energy ensured I was playing it right up until my PS3 eventually got the yellow light of death. I did also have Apocalypse, but I picked it up pretty late; 'twas already dead by that time. Still great fun though. A criminally underserved and forgotten series. Side note: The same is true of Resistance, another franchise left buried in the ashes of the empire it once held. Fall of Man might as well be my favourite console shooter ever made. And local split-screen! Christ, do you remember when games had that? Those were good times... If you were to make a similar video on Resistance, I for one would appreciate it. I caught a glimpse of it there in your emulator list, and I long for the old days. The game box still gathers dust on my shelf, and it makes me sad.
Thank you so much for putting effort into making this video. You gave me so much nostalgia and you brought back so many memories! There was such a small amount of videos about motorstorm that I was even thinking of making one myself but I would never do any better then you. I loved this video so much that I could watch it again and again. The Motorstorm games were my favourite games on the ps3 and I am really sad to see the games slowly dying off but this video has taught people and even me about the greatness of the games, this video even taught me about things that I had no idea about. Basically I loved this video because now I know someone out there other then me really enjoyed Motorstorm. Keep Motorstorm alive!
I played mostly the first on PS3. for some reason this game was unusually gripping for a "generic" racing game. It was the combination of the over-the-top environments, the varied but well-balanced set of vehicles to choose from and the incredibly strong soundtrack. Also there's something about the presentation of the menu's that made you feel like you were "there" at a huge scale illegal racing festival.
I played Motorstorm ONCE and spent YEARS trying to remember the name! Then I saw this video!!!!! I really wish Wreckfest and Motor Storm would make a mashup game.
The first Motorstorm was all about the online mode. There was nothing else at the time where you could race a buggy, a bike, and a truck at the same time with friends. It was revolutionary
I enjoyed motorstorm, I also have fond memories of being a child playing a motocross game that was over the top like ssx but can’t seem to remember it’s name.
Man disabling the motion blur alone makes emulating worth it and this is from someone who put hundreds of hours into PR and Apocalypses back in the day
huggggeee props to you for making this video. i myself have played all the motor storms except arctic edge. the best memories came from pacific rift. good to see small content creators making videos on racing games 👊🏽
Thank you for bringing the spotlight to these amazing racing games. The motorstorm series really needs a remaster, it’s such a fantastic game that no other can replicate it’s ambience. I love apocalypse the most (probably because i also really like street racing) and the setting is just phenomenal. I wish Sony remasters, at least, Monument Valley, Pacific Rift and Apocalypse.
Why was story so important to these reviewers? It’s a racing game. Get in your car a go. You don’t need some cheesy soap opera going on in the background. And then they did add a story in Apocalypse and it reviewed worse than the other 3 games! What did these people want?
You people are so simple minded 🤦 it had nothing to do with the story, it was the content after you beat the story, the game was pointless and useless after you beat apocalypse and was pretty boring compared to the other games that had plenty of content and the secret unlockables to unlock even after you beat the game.... That was the problem not enough to do in the game and the story was very short
Motorstorm was such a huge part of my childhood. My parents got an original ps3 with a new cellphone contract and I played the motorstorm demo for months until they bought it for me lol
i loved motorstorm as a kid, a family friend had a ps3 and it was his only racing game so it was all i played. i doubt i'll bother going through all the effort to emulate it but i really appreciate the detail you went into to help people get the best experience when they do - it's so helpful having all the info you need in one place
Great video! I've always known Motorstorm games, but never got to try them, except for that one RC game on the Playstation Store. Also, nice Ace Combat mention in the end, you better make that video soon now that the next game in the series is confirmed to be in development! ;)
Motorstorm apocalypse did get released in nz at some point since i got it in like 2013ish, from a New Zealand store. top tier memories from playing it with my sister tho
There used to be a ps3 at ikea where i live that had the motorstorm demo on it. I remember standing around the ps3 with a bunch of other kids cheering on the kid playing. So much fun
One of my fondest memories is playing the motorstorm 1 demo at Best Buy when the PS3 was barely out and stupid expensive. I was with a friend and we were literally crying of laughter from the ragdoll physics with the bikers/ATV drivers. I started playing Pacific Rift for the first time a few days ago and its awesome. About to order Apocalypse looks good too
This is a great top tier quality video. I was shocked when I saw that you have under 1k subs. I know these kinds of videos take lots of time and energy. I hope to see more from you in the future.
MS-A was my go to game during my early teen years. Played with a group of guys called the MOB. Remember spending so much time practicing and getting better in that game so I could have a chance of beating the group leader. Felt so good to finally do it. Dont think Ill ever find another racing game like that again, and its a pity.
Motorstorm Apocalypse was such a standout for me and my little brother. We loved the car customization and the pure mayhem. Pacific Rift had the best splitscreen experience for us and we loved the monster trucks. The first game was just absolutely gritty and the atmosphere in that one is hard to beat.
So this is the racing game that i thought was super unique when i used to play it endlessly on my psp, i just saw your thumbnail and was god damn it this is that game i never got to know it's name but i loved, also i remember deleting it by mistake on my psp and feeling like shit.
ah, yes. An advanced warning system for "incoming earthquakes" that everyone trusts and everyone would definitely evacuate the city for. Very accurate scenario for a game! (But totally awesome!)
motors storm and burnout best driving games of the 2000s, my adolescence was divided between cod mw2, motor storm and burnout paradise ... i miss them so much as simple and fun games, spectacular soundtracks and unbeatable gameplay
Wow didn't realize that little detail about the ms: apocalypse release. I live in new Zealand and found a copy in the bargain bin of the local gamestore pre-owned for $10. (Perhaps it was imported prior idk). Bought it on a whim but it sits humbly on the shelf next to the o.g. underated rare gem imo and its a hella good time split screen with the bois
this is best arcade racing game series, and one of the greatest games ever because I play it not for achievements, not for car perf of visual upgrades, I play it for fun, for the game process which is fantastic!
A year ago or so i got my old ps3 out of the closet and replayed Motorstorm and Motorstorm Pacific Rift. They're fun games for some time but both feature the same very bad grievance of rubber band enemies. I'm kinda astonished it wasn't in the video at all, because that's the biggest factor to why the games became unfun after a while (because rubber band became stronger the further you got into the game). It's simply unfun to go around a tight corner on a motorcycle, boosting away only to be crushed by a truck, which should be literally impossible after the vehicle classes specs. But it does happen because of rubber band KI.
This was one of my absolute favorite racing games but apocalypse was so Underrated its such a shame because the game so intense and so much fun to play
