Ash Ketchum will always be number one to me, especially from Sun & Moon.

Our boy has had a very long & storied career indeed.

my favorite thing is how just a few short years ago people couldn't stand ash and the anime I always rooted for the kid and checked in on him once in a while to see his journey progress and damn did those last 3 series (kalos alola and journeys) feel good to see our boy come into his stride using everything he learned both as a kid and a trainer and I never doubted that he'd go out on top with people missing him and honoring his legacy

Ash was him, taught kids that not every MC will get dubs and if you take a loss keep going, to think outside the box, be creative and defy logic complaints ppl has about him "he releases his best mons" that show he more compassion about his friend's personal feelings than his own goals, or he dont evolve his mon, ash dont force much on his mons, plus they do got their own conscious and some dont feel like evolving reason ppl like Paul, because Paul was us in the anime, ex. iv's check, releasing weaker mons, and etc

I remember back in the days when people would say Ash will never become the very best because his story would end if that happened. People said it would never happen, until it did. Just goes to show, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. As great as it felt seeing him become world champ, saying goodbye to him was so hard to do. It was like saying goodbye to an old friend that I’ve known literally my entire life.

The irony is xy is actually a perfect follow up and continuation to diamond and Pearl Ash but you can't ignore bw as it does have plot threads that continue in latter series so I guess you can say its the black & white sheep of the family 😅

It would be more feasible if he was at least 11 or 12. The fact that his birthday wasn't canon and by gen 5/8 he was still officially classed as a 10 year old really annoyed me. Especially since near the end of every region when he trained for the respective tournament, an npc said such tournament was "months away". Also how are you going to clear 4 regions in 3 months each??? Anyway, i know I'm taking this too seriously so *breathes in* I'm chill.
