Black women have historically been the most loyal when it comes to interracial relationships, with only 3 percent married to white men in 1980. But times are changing - today that number has quadrupled to 12 percent. “REVOLT Black News” explores the reasons behind this trend, from the education gap between Black women and men, to shifting views on interracial relationships. We examine the social stigma these couples still face and the dark history behind Black women and white men. Plus, some advice for Black women thinking of exploring love outside of their race. Join us as we dive deep into this complex issue.
Inspired by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ successful “State Of Emergency: The State of Black America & Coronavirus” town hall, “REVOLT BLACK NEWS” is a platform that is designed to report news from the perspective of Black people for Black people.

Im from the UK, my mum is black from Barbados and my dad is white English. They have been married for 46 years, I'm 43 and my brother is 42 at the end of this year. They both met in barbados as my dad was an electrician on boats that sailed all over the world and happened to meet our mum and brought her back to the UK. My parents faced racismn from his family so they weren't in our lives. We grew up with our mothers side of the family and dad. They go back to where they met years ago every few years. Dad's 70 soon and mum is already 65. I love my parents very much and now we have kids of our own, I have a son and daughter with my hubby(who happens to be white-French) and my brother has a daughter with his wife who happens to be white- italian. My aunt also married a white englishman they've been together for 60 years! London is a melting pot so we never felt left out, and having mixed cousins also helped. Im very proud of both my heritage, gotta love mums cooking!💃🏽🇬🇧 🇧🇧 😋 🥘

As a white guy my opinion is that the group which should be blamed for "pushing" black women back from the interracial dating market are black men. When black men date white women it is a huge achievment for them and they show their relationship proudly. Look at all of the football and basketball players, many of them want to date white women, but when a black woman is together with a white man, they start throwing "sh*t" at those women and u can see in their eyes how jealous they are. I have heard personally when a black girl said she preferred white men and a black guy told her "Oh come on and BLM?!"

I have realize that when black men are with white women its seen as normal, and no one says anything, but when is a white man and a black woman we seen as race traitors. Yeah, most supposedly “Black Men” although technically brown skinned are extremely racist. They have become masters of projection over the years accusing white men of being racist when in reality it is them. Dating a white woman for them is a notch on their belt just to feed their sick obsession of the achievement and payback that they feel as they climax in a white woman. They call white men “white boys” because they want to be perceived as the dominant alpha “Black Man” race. But if you call them a Black Boy they become violent and extremely insecure. They tirelessly push the narrative of white slave owners beating their women and slaves….yet NEVER EVER tell the part about Africans rounding up their own people back in that day and selling them in slave trade out of greed. They were the ones who built those ports on the coasts of Africa to hold and sell their own people, whites were running into their country rounding them up and bringing them back. As long as there is separation, hatred, and racism the government holds more control which is exactly what they want. Wake up lol

I’m surrounded by White and majority Asian men, who constantly try to talk to men casually. I am a white (Italian) American and have been happily married to a mixed-race Puerto Rican woman who is part black for 47 years. We are both sick and tired of all the interracial couples in TV commercials today. They are usually black men with white women (the most common examples) or white men with East Asian women. Hispanics are almost completely left out. There was intermarriage between whites and blacks and Native Americans in Latin America long before it began in North America or Europe. At least Spanish men married the women instead of making them mistresses like the British, French, and North Americans did.

They couldn’t be happier and theyre some of the happiest couples I’ve ever seen. They're not better, but on average I have not been in a struggle love situation with a white man. I've actually put up with more from my black ex husband and my black male longterm relationship. I got rid of the white guys faster. I'm not doing that anymore, I plan to take white men more seriously as viable mates. I love my wife. She is my everything. My life and my joy. I would burn a village to the ground if she asked me to. She is the mother of our children and the matriarch of our family. She also happens to be a beautiful Black woman from Louisiana. We met while both deployed to Iraq and have been together ever since. That being said I am proud of myself as a man. We have mutual respect and love for each other and her differences are what I love and what makes us stronger as a team. Beyond the color of our skin, we are like any couple. I encourage everyone to find someone they love and hold on tight. Black women, find someone who loves you regardless of their color. Same with White men or any combination thereof. Be happy. Don't let those without love or happiness define yours.

I’ve only had success with white men. Black guys never want to commit. White men are wining and dining and have a fear of losing out on me 100xs the black men I’ve dated. I dated multiple black men and when it came down to it they always hit me with the “I’m not ready to settle down” “you’re cute but your not sexy” white men never have this dilemma. They’re way more intentional, they’re straight forward- there are no mind games to their courting. They are quick to want to be in a relationship and they move faster. I left a 35 year old black man who still wasn’t ready to settle down with a wife or children for a white guy that within 2 months told me he wanted to marry me and he couldn’t imagine his life without me. He was 29. More black women need to date out if they want to get married. I also think black men hold us to an impossible standard that they can’t even meet. Someone said it best- black men are so much more judgmental towards me as their partner than white men are. I always feel like I can be myself more with white men because they aren’t constantly negging me or trying to disprove my experience. White men who are open to being with a black women typically find us beautiful with no real comparison to how “we’re supposed to be”. Which is freeing. Anyways. My 2c.

My mom has been married to my stepdad for over 20 years. In our state it was illegal at the time for interracial marriages. They leveled each other up like nothing I ever seen. She’s the youngest child of 14 but is like the matriarch of the family due to what they have built together.

I’ve been dating out the past 3-4 months on dating apps and other race men LOVE us. It’s still people with bad intentions out there, but there’s an overall noticeable difference with the approach in life and goals far as family and marriage structure. I've been with my husband 15yrs, married for 8 and in the beginning we had our share of comments, stares and encounters with people that didnt approve. My husband always spoke up and stood up for us. It almost in a sense made us stronger for being a united front against the hate. But just like the Lovings, we ultimately just wanted to be left alone to live our lives as we see fit. Fast forward to the present and we're both physicians and in my line of work I dont see many black males in my position. At the hospital I work at they are mostly EVS workers or nurse aides.

If you come to inner city UK, it is very normal to see WM/BW couples and anyone who lives here will agree. We grow up in the same areas and it happens naturally. Race isn’t such an issue in the UK. Everyone of my white and black male friends has dated a girl of the opposite colour and we don’t care at all. We are all humans, just relax and enjoy your life.
