U are always a old man yelling at that the sky pheano lol but this time u are right. I agree with u that it should be banned cuz it really makes LL unfun.
back when I frist saw Kraken's Aethervein I thinked it was such an interesting card since we didn't had any way to modify its damage as all the cards only increased the damage of other action cards. So when we got kindle I said to myself "ok... this is the keyword that will make kraken's shine"
i mean we gotta cut LSS some slack on this one. like on release of a new set, checking 2 handfuls of cards that are only legal outside of CC to see whether theyre gonna break your format that has *sanctioned events* is such a big ask, these things happen to the best of us.... ...right? 😂
I'm in the camp of restricting rampant growth/life and maybe channel mt broccoli - I think it's honestly cool that this kind of thing can exist and be done, but it shouldn't be nearly as consistent. If it required more time to pull off, and had a harder time being done, I think it'd be significantly better.
The crazy thing to me is that since 1 or 2 heroes have fringe chances to beat this deck people have been acting like this deck is totally fine or not a problem for the game. There definitely needs to be a ban before the next event.
@@quickestturtlez5362 if you are down to watch some more content rn i would suggest listening to the runaways podcast from last week, they had a tangent about how too many silver bullets are actually a negative to the format
Millenium tree has a lot of answers in earth, light, runeblade, and illusionist, and ice can use bleak expanse while shadow can use chains of mefetis. Rampant growth to 1 means she has a much harder time putting together high Amp values. She still gets a once per game double rampant growth draw a ton, but against someone with ab4-5, she's not doing unreasonable damage for LL. She's definitely a top tier deck and forcing ab4-5 on everybody is annoying, but she's not unbeatable. Imo that's where LL should be: the format is dominated by a few decks with very particular high power game plans. As a side note, feign death actually kinda sucks against verdance. You aren't gonna prevent the big aethervein hit, since that's usually how she starts the turn, and she can just hold onto a big hand and pop off again on her next turn. She can win pretty consistently just hitting you a single time each turn.
@@pheano I don't know, this is an everfest card we are talking about. They clearly had significant changes in their design methodology since then. An errata that maybe just limits the amount of card draw would be an easy fix.
I definitely get the concern here, but I think this ban discussion is entirely premature. This pq+ player faced a ton of decks with ab1 and no sideboard consideration for the deck. The one match that he faced hate into, the deck folded. It might have just been bad luck, but I'd say give the format a chance to fight this 1st before calling for bans. We don't know the level of consistancy/resilience this combo deck has against prepared players yet.
i think the result of that match was almost enitrely thanks to verd not drawing into rampant. my experience has been that even if you are playing one of the two classes (wiz and illu) that can try and fight, KA still digs verdance thru their deck and allows them to go over the top of any hate. not to mention the on-stream deck was not very optimized at all
Prism, Kano, and Iys are natural predators to this deck and aetherize / snag are good counters. The stream game referenced was also someone only on AB1. Verdance draws 30, but kano also would have overkilled but in his own degen way. LSS wants people do be able to do powerful things in LL. As sets release, power will continue to wildly fluctuate in this format and that's just the nature of it. I hope LSS knocks it down a bit, but doesn't entirely eliminate a cool deck
