Ms power if she wasnt evil or something idk don't remember her story like that she is a good super hero destroying bad guys left to right she is powerful she did DO HER JOB
@@theflaminglitten-fo6jd the villans can kill and destroy the town well not really kill kid show sometimes people need the harsh truth but yeah I guess bullying
I love how when Ms Power said wordgirl was a lousy superhero, all the villains immediately defended wordgirl. I always like it when villains have respect for the heroes
That's one of the best parts of this special. It showed how thanks to Ms. Power Becky stopped seeing the villains as equal parts of the show she knows she's in, but as caricatures. Once the insults came out it stopped being about the show and started being about how much pain she could inflict on people who trusted her.
she tried to start talking smack about wordgirl and they were all like "oh _hell_ no, you just showed up yesterday lady you don't know squat about the pecking order here" XD
While she is a legitimate threat, had this been a more mature story, she would’ve done a lot worse. Verbal abuse is bad, but she could’ve easily dialled it up more than a simple notch.
I agree. I think it was dialed back a bit too much. I get that it's for kids, but I kind of wish there would have been a more intense and real battle between WordGirl and Miss Power.
@@sharkyenaqueenm5908 The second time she encountered him, she threatened to prevent him from ever eating cheese again. I actually found that dark compared to when she was about to laser him. Especially when you remember that Dr. Two-Brains has one mouse brain aside from his human brain.
Generally it’s considered rude to pick at something one can’t easily change. Dr. Two Brains’ two brains aren’t going anywhere. And the butcher guy’s whole schtick seems to be meat. He can’t really help it getting gross on a hot day.
She overstepped a LOT of boundaries -Dr Two Brain's mouse brain -Chuck's head -Tobey VS his mother -The Butcher running around covered in meat Dang, she even went for the exposition guy.
Two brains has an ADDICTION to cheese too It sounds like I’m trying to make this kids show edgy but without cheese he loses sanity, his brain glows and pulses and it looks like it give him a headache until he can convince it that they’re next heist will work. Miss power is crazy
@@7th.Camerawoman she was gonna call chuck "who is the fat dumb teen in a sandwich making costume are you big because of the sandwiches you eat" like ms Power was gonna have no filter fat shameing the butcher and chuck calling two brains slow but then KID SHOOOOW
It’s a bit like “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.” This kind of statement isn’t exactly true, as words can be more complicated than that. They can definitely hurt, sometimes even more so than a bruise. It depends on if one is willing to let these words get to them.
@@hashtagcritical8688 " It depends on if one is *willing* to let these words get to them." This is really the entire problem with the debate. "Willing." It'd be great if you could just choose what bothers you but that's not how human psychology works. The only solution to the problem is not letting people get away with being assholes.
@Rokenrol Bro 2019 I love the line from one episode that's two cops talking about this one villain (Chuck I think??) and they just "I guess not all villains are bad" "Does that mean not all cops are good?" Please I laughed so hard
@@Engifarting456 criminals do have rights tho... Like just because someone stole 3 pieces of bread from a bakery to feed their family doesn't mean they deserve to die. Some people are forced into criminal labor without them wanting to do it because they got caught in the wrong place wrong time. No one should lump them in with everyone else. Edit: grammar, wordgirl wouldn't be proud of my spelling.
Y’know, it makes sense. For a show called "Word"Girl, verbal abuse would be the most dangerous and effective form of violence, and they really did a good job making it feel like that’s the case
I like how the Super hero toxicity begins to spread to citizens. I mean, by all means, Word Girl is a sort of idol who upholds a symbol of goodness, so it makes sense for random civilians to act similarly because it's like: hey, Word Girl is great and she does it, so why can't we? It's not wrong if she does it because it's Word Girl.
I like how everyone in this universe is generally nice to each other or shown to have decent manners (even the villains) that the worst thing you can do is say someone’s shoes are ugly
Notice how wordgirl never once pokes fun at two brains even when he’s criticizing her new technique. In fact she tries to defend it like a rebellious daughter defending her new toxic friend and their ideals. Even after his transformation, he never stops being a father figure to her lmao
"I don't think I like you hanging around that older woman, Becky." "But dad, she's so cool! I'm learning to be strong!" "No, kiddo. That's just being mean. Is that really the hero you wanna be?"
Two Brains often saved her from annihilation. It gives me solace that Steven Boxleitner never went away. Hope more fanfictions happens where Two Brains remove the mouse brain and Boxleitner returns. Tobey always has redemption stories but Two Brains is by far the most tragic.
Ms. Power's thirst for power probably made her the most villainous villain in the show(along with Mr. Big). Her bullying didn't make her evil though since these villains weekly shenanigans could possibly kill thousands of people.
@@tidepodpadthai2633 Chuck, Two-Brains and Tobey are literally the only villains who's threats can kill people Every other villain mostly does petty theft which is not worth verbal abuse Except Seymour he can get all of it
I think a lot of hero need to say that line when villain keep telling the hero that they are too scare to face them. Heck, Mystery Man movie have a whole speech over it....
2:17 - 2:23 I love how Tobey falls so slowly in such fleeting, picturesque fashion. It's like something out of a play about a royal kingdom, he was like a knight or prince fighting for his kingdom and ending up losing the battle. I wanted to throw a rose to the screenings of my laptop at that part, it was just perfection ✨ Pure beauty!
When Two Brains said "Please no" I think he wasn't just talking about not having cheese but knowing that Squeaky would hurt him. Steven Boxleitner doesn't have a choice. He's still in there.
Tom Kenny I'm not really surprised to hear on this but freaking Jane Lynch and Patton Oswalt on a pbs kids show is really perplexing me although when watching this character roast every single person she came into contact with I can't see better fit for the role
@@nathanwithrow35you'd think bit no. There are like two other people with legitimate sandwich heads. And we saw ONCE when Chuck didn't have his goggles on... yeah that head is legitimately his actual head
Especially painful considering he saved both their lives coming to Earth, and is basically her guardian. Huggy's far more than a sidekick; He's a hero, and didn't deserve any of that. The way he just so sadly accepted that insult was actually heartbreaking.
@{𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒮𝒾𝓁𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝑀𝑜𝑜𝓃} I think because Tobey is in love with Wordgirl so her bullying him literally broke his heart because that’s so out of character for her. Like yeah she’s the hero and he’s the villain and they have their witty banter, but they never go as far as to bully each other. Also he’s the same age as her so yknow, words hurt more when you’re younger and being bullied, especially by the ones you admire. Wow…sorry I read too much into that 😂😅
@@northcoast2469 don't worry, whem i was young, i was loved the shows word girl, power puff girls, spongebob, and adventure time and i didn't find out that Tom Kenny voiced spongebob, Patchy, Narrator, The Mayor, Dr. Two Brains, and Ice King (and maybe a few others), so we in the same boat
It's because that's considered inhumane torture. He needs the cheese to survive. It literally causes him physical pain if he doesn't. The longer without cheese the worse the pain is.
Reminds of that Powerpuff Girls episode in which they met that female villain who loved Susan B. Anthony coins and she turned them into "feminist" jerks.
@@myang12003 another term folks have used was "feminazis" which was worse. Basically the episode did a great job at showing the positive and negative sides of feminism
I like these episodes! They're well done, the writing and portrail of every character was so good. This is how you do effective writing for a kids/family friendly show! No talking down to kids about the serious nature of power and those who wield it. A great lesson in empathy/responsibility. A similar message to, Invincible, just you know for kids.
I love how by this point Chuck is just done with people being confused by his name, she’s like ‘Chuck the Evil Sandwich-Making Guy?’ and he just sighs and continues on And it also shows Miss Power’s ability to find something sensitive to attack, she goes for the obvious thing and then keeps testing stuff out until she finds the thread that’ll unravel you Oh, Two Brains doesn’t care about me laughing at his brains? I’ll go after his villain status. Oh, he’s riled up but relatively fine? I’ll take away his cheese. There, fuckin broken. Oh, The Butcher is still pretty fine after I pointed out how weird the meat thing is? Call him stinky. Boom. Everyone else was pretty easy, because Becky is pretty easy to figure out, and so is Tobey, plus she had WordGirl go after him herself, which my god I just realized she was probably intentionally using the crush thing against him, where I thought it was just accident before All of this means years of bullying had led to certain techniques that she’s sure about and can execute with ease She’s only defeated because of the respect WordGirl and the villains hold for each other But I’m surprised she didn’t do more with her power, yeah the whole bullying thing fell apart but girl just freeze someone or break WordGirl’s arm or something it’d be so easy, and then everyone else would be intimidated again
@Fionacle I mean she's obviously not above torture and murder. The dr2b thing with no cheese is basically a form of torture if you think About it. It's reaction to it isn't that he's just moved on from the fight but he's given up, entirely. He looks not even sad but depressed. Toby and the butcher looked sad. Dr2b looks depressed
Straight up he would fit so well into here Tobey: You took WordGirl from me. She loved me. Miss Power: No....she despised you. You were an embarrassment....oh, look at little McCallister Jr. Gonna cry?
His robots in the scene actually draw him a photo and give it to him, with a smiling robot and the words family with a hand on his shoulder. Then Mrs Power kills them alll
I mean... It was written by the same people who wrote several classic SNL skits and Family Guy....so this checks out. It's like all the intelligent jokes I love from those adult shows without all the sexual and gross out humor I don't like.
She is right and, honestly, it’s what hurts the most. She bends the truth into her own ideology, which is that “Everyone who is against me is an antagonist”.
I mean yeah but with people like Chuck and Two Brains that’s something they can’t control And with The Butcher it’s his entire theming so like Kinda cruel to bring that up when apprehending them, no?
Also he bullied Tobey who is just a kid. I never see his father being mentioned and him being abuse lately terrified of his mother gives me weird vibes as someone who got a TA Liscence. He doesn't seem to have a healthy relationship with anything and it's devolved into an obsession with word girl. The only way to get word girl attention si to be a bad guy so that'd what he became. A bad kid. Bad kids usual do bad shit for attention
She's the Shego of heroes lol. Her banter is amazing cause it's all the truth.......She's that worlds batman and I love it. Word girl episode I really want to see lol
Chuck and Tobey definitely make me the saddest, I know they’re villains and all but they’re too sweet and sensitive for that Tobey’s dramatic fall definitely takes me out of the moment though lmao
I love how Tobey seems like he got the insults the worst and took them the hardest, and he's just some 9 year old lmao To be fair, I've bullied children for less, but still, Miss Power is ruthless
She knows how to play the game, she’s hitting them where it hurts the most, she knows emotions can be a powerful thing and when used against another person via insults those emotions come out of that person in full force. Turning the once mighty and proud into the snot nosed scaredy cat crybaby who’s afraid of everything even their own shadows
oh i remember was seeing the mom shock as her kids backtalk her, i mean dang even i wont do that but beside the point i know Becky learn her lesson but seeing her idol miss power just because miss power was controlling her young self, one thing i always hate about young superhero who have a double life is how they containing about missing stuff, i was scare for becky thinking she turn bad
Not me this episode was hilarious, writers intentionally made the villains have the delinquency of a child. Notice how many of them where acting childish by fighting back tears when miss power insulted them, a real adult wouldn’t cry nor act that way they would knock your lights out with a punch to the face or elsewhere if you pulled that crap on them
Exhibit B includes the roasting of wordgirl and Tobey and Tobey had it worse than wordgirl. Tobey is probably in a depression and wordgirl got momnapped by miss power.miss power was toying with her.
Are you kidding me, these words are far too lenient they wouldn't even classify as playground talk, that's how lenient they are. Be lucky this isn't a TV Y7 FV superhero cartoon, trash-talking is normal.
@@Nameless82284 What got you in a Twist bru? I meant in General; Sometimes, telling a Depressed Person that they are never going to be cured or will always be alone for being depressed may lead to them to Suicide if they really didn't have anyone to help them. Watch your mouth and be careful what to say, because This Person you're telling will never be happy may truly not live long enough to be happy.
@@themphantom9138 Nothing, I have been called much worse before, and I've been physically hurt too. As I said, this type of trash talk is far too lenient to be classified as playground talk. Most of what Miss Power says isn't even harsh. Pointing out your flaws and not liking something that other people like. That's like basic stuff any kindergartner should be taught by their parents.
It would be brutal, Miss Power can easily tell the Joker that Batman doesn't take him seriously, if he did Joker would be in a real prison not Weenie hut Jrs.
"So you're a penguin themed crime boss? That's excessively dumb even for this city!" "Well sometimes I go by my real name and penguins can be seen a motif of sorts." "A lame motif I guess. Even then you've spent millions on outfitting a nuclear submarine with flippers! That nullifies any sort of respect you could ever hope to get. Oh and penguins are flightless, unlike you." "But...Well.. I could- wait what?" [Miss Power yeets Penguin into space]
I love when people take this episode and make Ms. Power way more of a threat, her manipulating WordGirl even further and even killing the villains, like this character could have gone so far, though obviously I’m glad they never did stuff that extreme in the show But it would be cool so see some lasting impacts, like this one fan comic had her and WordGirl inflicting horrible scars onto the villains, like Chuck had a hole in his face, Tobey had a hole in his arm, Butcher lost part of his hand and had to get some mechanical fingers, there was some creepy intense stuff in there but some more minor things would be cool to see explored, like how HTTYD tackled disabilities It’s so hilarious though seeing such intense stuff come from a glorified anti-bullying PSA
Actually they did though out the entire episode especially word girl And captain giggle cheeks they both laughed more so throughout the entire episode before the final showdown with miss power vs the villains,so yeah laughter in this episode clearly triumphed over annoyance big time
The thing is, she physically and mentally hurt Dr. Two-Brains. I don't know what happened to Tobey since in the scene changed to whatever Becky was doing, but what if Miss Power actually physically attacked him when Becky left?
It's suggested she destroyed every robot, the only thing that comforted him in the scene (they drew him a picture of them as a fanily) and since his dad is out the photo and his mom is always gone then he watched his sorta makeshift family did
Ms. Power has a point about Two Brains not being one of the top villains of the city. All of his plans are related to stealing cheese, almost every single other villain does much worse stuff every single day
He also sometimes turns things into cheese and has nearky destroyed the entire city on multiple occasions the only other villains who have gotten close to doing that are Whammer and Tobey and thise two specialize in Property Damage
