She is one of gaming's oldest female characters, perhaps the first damsel in distress and a true legend of the Mario series, but Pauline's role in the Mario series has always been oddly defined. She has went from the it-girl to completely forgotten to niche character to now main cast member, judging from high-profile appearances in Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Party Jamboree. Pauline has had a wild journey and today, I wanna look at what I would consider the Mario series' greatest comeback story.

When you really think about it, it’s understandable as to why Pauline didn’t start appearing more often until Super Mario Odyssey. Since she really didn’t have any identity or character other than being kidnapped by Donkey Kong. (Or at least it seems that way about her character) Super Mario Odyssey is where she was given more character development and that is why she has made many appearances since then.

Im so glad she is being added to most things now (Mario Party is like sure proof way to know, shes in) Loved her re-design in Odyssey and was so excited when she showed up in both mario kart and party. Excited to see if they add a new character/obscure character for Mario in Switch 2 and becomes the switch 2 character.

Pauline's comeback has definitely been really cool to watch but ngl i'm a real Nabbithead. Nabbit's my boy, let me play as him in mario party nintendo...

I disagree with the worry that Pauline might be next Piantas, since Pauline is both a single character and is playeble in almost every spin off, compare to the Piantas who were only playeble in two Mario Baseball games

It's really cool that they kept her and expanded on her since Odyssey, but I'm not a fan of her always being boiled down to the one song and nothing else

I doubt it considering Waluigi wasn't even created by Nintendo. He was created by Camelot and Nintendo likely views him as a black sheep because of it.
