Absolutely agree. Leia's deqth was utterly pointless as it stood. This would've made her sacrifice mean something. I raged for so long about the bloody ending. Lol!
Apparently, word in the rumour mill has it there's an "adult" version coming-no pun-out soon titledThe Real Rise Of Skywalker-no prizes for guessing what they mean by "real".
It was bc ray "was" a Skywalker bc she chose that family and not her blood family, hense calling herself a Skywalker in the movie according to the authors
@R3dVeda He would have also still been a war criminal and answerable for his many crimes. He and Rey would have had to go on the run for the rest of their lives. In all honesty, though, I could have lived with that ending. Him and Rey leave and go to some remote system, never to be seen again. She lets Poe and Finn know that they're OK and they live the rest of their lives in peace. There is some excellent fanfiction that shows Kylo coming to terms with his past and learning how to live happily with Rey.
@@misspriss2482 agreed. It's actually makes a cooler ending. No one knows what happens to Rey or Ben. But there is a tale of two strange figures in the dessert who are discovered by an old woman. She asks them who they are, and they only answer, "Hope".
legit walking out of the theater i said in my head " do l like that ending, no. what am i going to do about it? read fanfiction till i confuse myself on reality "
I mean, because keeping Ben alive just makes sense doesn't it? my man had something good going on as a character, until TROS ending just turned his arc into Vader all over again.
Gilgamesh: FOOLS, and Mongrel's like your king i will always be better than newer heroes, and The original movie will always better than anything these fools come up with. Disney: you aren't what we need. Me: Yeah the reason why is Nasuverse Gilgamesh can kill 100% of the MCU, and 100% of the Star Wars Universe with just a fling of his Weaponry. He is the most strongest Heroic Spirit besides Oda Nobunaga, and EMIYA (Archer) yet he's stronger than any Star Wars, or MCU character. Cause his endless arsenal of weapons, and the Sword of Rupture.
"Who are you?" "I'm Rey." "Rey who?" "Just, Rey." Then Ben comes and stands next to her as they stare off into the binary sunset together, seeing Anakin's, Luke's and Leia's ghosts through the Force. This is called closure.
Ben and Rey have such an interesting storyline, and this alternative ending would've been so much better. Killing him off like that wasted so much potential. :(
I never wanted to see a movie that much but this was the biggest disappointment in my life, I could not look at any rise of skywalker related videos for months
"He has to let her know that they're together, but I don't know that he entirely is sure of what's gonna happen from there. Nor do I think he cares. I think it's so long as he's with her, he's on the right path." - Adam Driver (Ben Solo)
I would have loved for it to be Pride and Prejudice instead of Romeo and Juliet. (sobs in the corner) Ben could have been pride and Rey prejudice. But no, they had to go and kill him.
After the old Lady asked Rey for her name she should have just replied with: I'm nobody and then smile. Whould have showed that you don't need to be someone special to be a hero and whould have ended the Skywalkers properly.
Let’s be honest the reason why the last one is called “the rise of skywalkers is because she ended up calling herself one and also they were like family to her and she didn’t use that name to act like some hero
Old Lady: "who are you?" Rey responds with slight unease in her voice "I'm Rey.." Kylo finishes her response "Skywalker". Rey caught off guard and surprised by Kylo's response and sudden arrival as he then walks over next to Rey. The old lady then asks Kylo. "and you are??" Kylo: "I'm Ben...." Rey grabs Bens hand Rey: "Skywalker!" The old lady smiles. Kylo smiles. Kylo looks back at Rey as they both let out a pinch of laughter. R2D2 and BB8 roll over next to Ben and Rey. (Scene ) Camera zooms out with R2D2 standing next to Ben and BB8 standing next to Rey as they remain holding hands, watching the binary sunset on the harsh desert world known as Tatooine. (Final Scene) I walk out of the movie theater not regretting watching the original trilogy as a kid.
I KNOWWWW!!!!!! All I wanted is for Ben to at least come back as a force ghost, at least with Leia and Luke, he is a Skywalker too! I would have been able to deal with my grief better...
@@agony3739 I believe the "his" pronoun refers to Anakin...Anakin sees Rey put [Anakin's] lightsaber in sand. The line "Obi-wan's gonna kill me" is from Anakin always losing his lightsaber
They did him dirty. Death doesn’t always have yo equal redemption. Besides, he deserved to live way more than she did. He was the best character throughout this series, in my opinion.
He was definitely the best character of this trilogy. He was the only three dimensional character, with true internal conflict. He’s also the only character that directly influences the plot. The others are just reactive to the conflict while Ben/Kylo directly manipulate how the story evolves. Rey is a good character, and she has proven to be essential to the story for different reasons than Ben/Kylo, but I don’t know how she’ll carry the plot by herself in the upcoming films. One of the main plot points of the trilogy is the connection between them and how they balance each other out. Whether they were on the dark or light side of the force, they understood each other and they were both key elements to each other’s journey. I can’t conceive how Rey will move forward to whatever’s next in the upcoming films. They were not only connected, but they were a dyad, a concept that is still unexplained and unexplored. We get the tip of the iceberg but we don’t really know how their connection truly works. I’m just disappointed in how his story arch turned out.
@Janae Thompson Oh, hell, yeah!!!! I wish this would be a real ending. Your comment inspired me. I want to write a fanfiction or an artwork with Rey and Ben Solo.😍
But why couldn’t he have given her half his life and then both of them be nursed back to health??? Alright, here’s my solution. In my perspective, there is no such thing as “he didn’t have enough life to give for both to be alive” because if he didn’t, he would be dead. And he already had enough life in him that he could climb up to heal her anyways, so I think the should’ve survived. Sort of like the cup is only empty when there is no water in it, not even a drop. And if there was, it could still be cut in half and put in another cup.
My guess is that (besides whatever the filmmakers wanted) he was injured already pretty badly - he didn't have enough life force in him to be able to bring her back without using his completely up, but he did it anyways. So he basically needed half his life force to bring her back, but only had half left already
she was already dead so giving her enough energy to come back to life would just be.....exchanging his life. he isn’t just fixing a wound, he’s giving a whole life
Kylo carried this whole trilogy. There really isn't a need for a destroy-the-whole-universe type of threat. The previous trilogy already did that. Wish the story just revolved around Ray and Ben. And how Ray managed to turn Ben back to the light.
I like a threat to the galaxy but the simple super laser that destroys planets is getting old. Theirs all kinds of super weapon stuff in expanded universe. The star forge, the world devastators, the galaxy gun, a force reaper, just to name a few. Each one totally unique and awesome.
@@book-obsessed4380 he was the main antagonist actually. As i like emperor most of all characters i can't agree. But there is the problem about Anakin's sacrifice... Did he weaken Emperor or whut?
That actually gave me chills and almost made me cry. Leia giving the rest of her life force to resurrect Ben would have had so much more meaning., thank you!!
So, after months. This is how I would have loved RoS to end. Rey and Ben Defet Palatine together. Working as One. Ben gets wounded, Leia uses the last of her strength to heal Her son. Rey and Ben kiss. Rey goes to But Ben stops. "I..can't go with you." "Why?" " your firends wouldn't welcome me. Your path is with them. I have to find my own." Rey looks at him..then hands him Leia's lightsaber. " I will see you again." " I know" They both escape. Rey goes and reunites with Finn and Poe. We have the vist to the farm, but this time. Its ben. And we watch as now he walks into the sunset, looking for redemption. It closes the trilogy, gives a fresh start to Ben Solo as a character, leves it open enough for new adventures in comics and books to continue, and gives actual meaning to title of the movie.
Interesting in my mind that’s how I pictured the ending would’ve been liked too. If Ben lived and knew that he couldn’t go back with Rey. Have him setting off on his own journey, and to get a restart in life. That would’ve been a good ending right there. An at least it gives the viewers to know that he’s alive out there somewhere and one day he’ll come back to Rey, as a new changed person.🙂🥲
I wish Leia’s death could have been more useful. Ben didnt have to die. He still has to redeem himself in the eyes of the galaxy. Rey could have helped him, and they could be together. Star wars rhymes. It doesnt just do random stuff. TROS disappointed me but i still like it
Agreed. The whole time, I thought it was Rey who was saving Ben. Leaia's life-giving scene could have been saved for the end. The only thing is we wouldn't have had the purple-haired lady's drama; but I don't think I needed that as much as I wanted ReyLo.
I’d say Ben made up for it They should of let Ray die That would of been realistic. The whole new series predicated on Luke Skywalker wanting to kill his nephew? They should of let Fin die too his character was really annoying in this last film.
"She sliced his face open, he pried in her mind, they got half naked for no reason in the middle of a war, they fought, he proposed, she denied, she stabbed him, saved him, he helped her take on the Emperor while wearing a hot topic jumper, they kissed. It's all a mess to be honest"
Rey: Daddy wanted to be bad like Grandpa and Great Uncle who were dark side buddies and wanted to rule the universe whereas mommy wanted to be a good person like your aunt and uncle and save everyone and had to stop daddy Kylo: Come on now babe, do we have to bring this up again? Rey: It's true sweetheart Kylo: Mommy almost killed daddy with her lightsaber in the middle of a tidal wave Rey: I did brought you back to life my love Kylo: I brought you back to life too babe when Great Uncle killed you Rey: So mommy came back to life and saw how handsome daddy was and gave him a big kiss. After that one thing lead to another and then mommy became pregnant with you. Kylo: OK time for bed kids. Mommy and daddy need some quiet time to ourselves. That night, Rey becomes pregnant again with their 3rd child.
Why feel ashamed? I've been watching tons of videos in the last couple of weeks, hoping to hear someone say he isn't dead at all and there will be another film. It's in the human nature to hope for happy endings...and I'm 37!
Rodney Roque Please stay. We can make bad jokes together. What shouldn’t you buy a wig? Because it’s too high a price toupee!! Hold the door for me, please.
Honestly when I saw the movie I was so confused. What was the point in the drama of Leia disappearing at the same time (having not faded yet) if it wasn't to save Ben?! Was in full shock when he didn't reappear. Heck they could have at least had him appear with Leia and Luke at the end. -Insert all the cuss words- So much drama built up about their link just to snuff it out immediately. -Mentally starts flipping tables- psssssh oh well. I'm forever going to turn off the blue ray at the point in which they kiss lol.
I didn't like the idea of Ben fading and coning back, but if we had an actual better ending, she could have appeared in the cave with Rey and dead Ben to bring him back to life, see his redemption, and Rey's resolution. Of course, we all know that Carrie Fisher had actually passed away, so perhaps something of the same flavor. I did like your point because throughout Star Wars, Jedi masters have died and faded to pass on life to their jedi's in training. Ben Kenobi died to allow Luke to live, and Yoda also passed on when it was time to further Luke on his journey. Vader also died during his redemption in order to save Luke. Luke died after his fight with Kylo to allow Rey to rescue the rebellion so that she could go onto complete her story, and perhaps with the forsight that she will save Ben Solo while he had been unable to. Therefore, I think jt would have been more appropriate for Leia to die in order to help Ben Solo continue his journey. As a mother, she might also be happy to see him live a loving and fulfilled life with Rey, and perhaps they might open a Jedi school. As much as I didn't love some of TLJ, the eventual jedi school would seal the arc of the small boy with the levitating broom. He might also go onto be a major character in future Star Wars movies as Disney seeks to make more money off of the franchise. And even without more movies- it would have been nice to see Rey and Ben Solo together as a fitting end to this trilogy, especially since we have invested all of our time, money, love, and tears into it.
“Im Rey”. YESSSSSS F***KING THANK YOU! The whole trilogy was about Rey facing her conflicted origins. Is she a Skywalker? Is she a Palpatine? No...just as she said to the kid on the festival planet...she’s just...”Rey”. Ending it like this resolves the conflict with Rey accepting that she is her own person.
@@johnnybones0074 dudes dead. Let it go. You got a whole ass prequel trilogy, a main trilogy plus a frigging whole series about Anakin, have we not seen enough of his story like damn enough is enough. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I actually agree with this especially since all the jedi we hear in the movie (anai obi mace ext) where really on set in costume and where filmed but they where cut
Unless they're going to release the 3-hour Director's Cut somehow, , Please. With costumed force ghosts helping Rey. Otherwise this would be good alternative.
Can anybody explain me why Rey didn't vanish like ben, become a force ghost? Her body didn't disappear like jedi. She wasn't dead yet? he didn't revive her? Or is it because shes palpatine or sth different??? Im curious pls
Oh thank goodness! I had this awful dream about them killing off Ben even though they spent three movies on his character development and then a whole other season of game of thrones where the writers decided to do meth instead of writing plot! It was terrible.
For game of thrones, I just imagine that Daenerys turns into a dragon like her father wanted to and then she burns all of Westeros to the ground and kills the rest of the characters. Now she is the only one alive, the “Queen of the Ashes”
Finally giving some sense to the disappearance to Leia's body at the right moment and ofcourse justice to Ben instead of Darth Vader-ing him(killing him just when he turns to the light) .
Anant -TechZ i think that killing darth Vader and kylo ren was actually right, because throughout their trilogies Both od them had done terible things, so in the end if they survived ti wouldn't really work in the story
@@matyaskrejci2436 they could have done differently with Ben no? He always struggled between light and dark and i understand the resistance wouldn't have accepted him but then Rey and Ben could have started their own journey far away from the resistance for the jedi order or something.
In the first movie: crying in anger bc ben killen han In the second movie: crying bc IM realizing that Ben can turen good In the last movie: crying a river of tears bc Ben deserved sooooo much better💔
Oh thank god. Phew -- that was a close one. I thought I was going to be sad and angry for a while there, after bearing witness to Disney's selfish moves, but your Correct Ending just saved me from emotional turmoil! Thank you! 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Hello, my name is Nick. And In my Beliefs, I am a Jedi. But some other people don’t think that. I haven’t seen this movie yet. But I had a feeling in the Force, I felt that, Ben is Gone...
UGh this works so weeeellll. I hope they only did this to Ben to open up space for a continuation...the world between worlds...but effing eff I just wanted a happy ending for them DX
@Navya Vyas I stand firm in the ending not making sense. I, as well as everyone else, will find out when the movie novelization comes out in March and they give us any extra clues as to the details and finality of the scene. Harrison Ford specifically asked to be removed from the rest of the trilogy and still came back for a closure scene. Palp was thrown in a reactor core in the original trilogy and came back as the big bad. "No one is ever truly gone" is Star Wars literal brand, as is hope. I will give up my theories when I see that force ghost!
But being brought back by the world between worlds wouldn't work. He died saving her life by giving her HIS life essence. Remove him at any point in time and Rey dies. They can't be together no matter what
no. this was worse than the actual ending. he completely got rid of all the force ghosts and the voices and made it all about ben and rey. this shit is so gay.
Given all he did, he actually more than earned his mixed ending, and was rather lucky to at least be able to join the Light Side when he died. That said, from a narrative perspective, I feel that they had far better and more interesting options than the one they went with, and it was really a massive waste to kill off the character the way they did.
Kylo Ren always caught my attention. From the beginning. Every time I saw him, he gave me the feeling of a poor boy broken inside with a struggle inside. He struggled to destroy the light that was present in him. Something told me that he didn't want to do it, but hate and darkness were already very strong in him. I mean, I hated that he killed Han Solo, but the suffering that this caused him in the following films showed me that there was still light in him, and that that light increased when he was with Rey. I love him. I love Ben, honestly
basically Ben revives Rey with the force but he doesn’t end up dying, they still have their kiss and everything and end up escaping with the resistance plus the people Lando brought. From their Rey goes with the resistance to say goodbye as Both Ben and Rey go together to a castle over at Naboo. They held hands together and looked at each other. Rey still does go ahead and buries the Sabers I believe and still shows her new one. JJ took out a lot of stuff from the flim like (Fin telling Rey he is force sensitive) (Lots of Dialogue between Rey and Ben) (The ending with the force ghost you actually see the actors besides Rey against Palpitine) (We need the original cut Abrams has to expose what we really wanted)
The title "the Rise of Skywalker" means Ben Solo rising from the dark side. Just like Darth Vader in "Return of the Jedi" he rised from the dark. I really don't think that Ben had to die. The movie would've been better if he lived. J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy keep changing their story to why they killed Ben. It's unfair, but we got what we got and I guess i'm ok with it but still really pissed. If they did end up together and it would have been all happy and happily ever after like how Disney does it. But nope, no one ended up together. If you really think about none of the Star Wars couples ended up getting a happily ever after, Padmé died and Anakin turned to the dark side, Leia and Han didn't grew old together, and Ben died in front of Rey. I don't think it's fair anymore.
If Ben died and everything like that, she should’ve said Rey SOLO. She never really connected with Luke so why would she be a skywalker?? She connected with Han, Leía, and Ben so much more so she should’ve said Rey Solo
Eric Siegfried just because he was her master doesn’t mean they had a good connection. He trained her for 10 minutes before he got scared and pushed her away. Then he helped her again for 10 minutes and then Rey left because he wasn’t any help. Han is a solo, Ben is a solo, leía didn’t take the name but she’s a solo. That’s why the last name solo makes more sense.
This is the ending that was supposed to happen 😭💕 'death romance' is not suited for the bloodline of Skywalker, the line should have continued with Solo jr.
No it still has to fit the story. What are they gonna do with a living Ben, he murdered 100000s of innocents. It's not supposed to be a feel good movie
Other than the Ben part I appreciate the whole "I'm Rey" cause I figured the series was her not focusing on a surname cause it means nothing and has a bad influence on literally every character that obsesses over their surname
Thank you!!! This is my canon ending! No matter how many times they cut it down! Gosh, is so frustrating They should be humble enough and release the ending we deserve! #HEAisTROSengame
