The issue is Wrexham as a club was too big for the national League, they were a league one or two club in size but had been ruined by previous owners. Then you have Hollywood owners take them over and people get jealous. Remember that what Wrexham's done ain't easy. Remember Salford?...
In the simplest of terms; they aren’t treating the club like a business, they are treating the Wrexham area as a life time investment. They aren’t just throwing money at the club - they’re improving the quality of life. Yes frustrating for opposition and potentially they have been a little brash in the transfer market but at the end of the day they’re adding value to football not just taking it out… like a lot of premier league owners, and other big European leagues. Kudos to them, shame more owners aren’t so involved.
@@Chloethemarxenjoyer So besides Mullen who did they sign that is buying league 2? Also a loan may still be a transfer but most major loan transfers have the parent club paying most if not all the wages at this level so what is stopping other clubs from doing the same ?
@@godzillagaming1794 All the players from last season. And other clubs can't do that because they don't have disney documentary appeal. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if disney were rigging the league by giving them money.
Ryan and Rob are two class acts. People can say they bought the club for their own benefit (but every owner owns them for their own benefit), but they have really embraced the town and the history and vice-versa. This is not like some saudi prince buying a club to launder their money
They started their investment from the revitalizing the community, which is the core of an english football. They build from the base up wisely and planning for a long term success.
You do know that Saudis don't need to launder money right? They r the govt. And no taxes.. i m surprised they still didn't buy the whole premier league considering the amount of money they have😅
I truly don’t understand how they bought it for their own benefit, the potential cons far outweigh any benefit to them personally other then the personal satisfaction and sense of family they get from the club and the community. The documentary is not making them tons of money personally, it certainly is not outweighing the amount they have personally put into the club.
You can’t hate on Wrexham. They’ve had a miserable time in the last 20 years. It’s all jealousy, though it shows that, for many clubs, rich owners stepping in is the only way out of a vicious downward spiral. Sad, but true.
I appreciate the fact they spend it well but who says clubs like Wimbledon or barrow can't spend money well if they would have hade that enormous amount of money.
Stockport County also deserve their flowers. They were in ruins, dropping to the 6th tier of English football. Now they're League Two Champions. Congratulations to Wrexham, owners do genuinely care. Stockport deserve their flowers for winning the league and Mansfield too for their own promotion. 😁
Our previous owner at Bolton Wanderers bled us dry, caused us points deductions and almost literally brought us to liquidation and non-existence. Thankfully, Sharon Brittan bought the club and brought in manager Ian Evatt. Wrexham would be prudent in taking baby steps. League One is a tough league to get out of. There are plenty of clubs paying very good wages. I doubt they are really financially secure enough for the championship, let alone the PL.
I don't see the hate. I think the story of Wrexham should be celebrated. The game between Wrexham v Notts County was legendary and plus Ben Foster doing vlogs for Wrexham has helped the club so much for gaining attention and sponsors. So I think it's great in my opinion
What, the story of a club buying the best players from the leagues above in a league without FFP so they can fast track their way to the top, really inspires the kids that one
@@mr.dappermarsh3213 At the end of the day, it's all about business and they got the financial power which is way bigger than their rival Notts County who currently sits mid table in League 2
Loving it. Let them do their thing, because jealousy is not pretty. The owners are lifting not only the team and the club, but the whole town of Wrexham to a better place, and there is nothing wrong with that.
I think Wrexham shouldn't deserve all the hate, they didn't sign mega stars just to facilitate the growth of the club and they are slowly improving just like any team. I can't understand the hate of the financial advantage but at least they aren't spending it like Saudi/mancity/psg.
Well no sh*t they aren’t getting mega stars they’re barely in league 2, but they used they’re money to bring players from higher leagues down to theirs. Which is basically unheard of. What if haaland said “sorry city I want to help Blackburn win the league”lmaoo
@@ChaosInColour well you could say the same for notts county then. In the end, man city and psg are too far of a stretch to compare with Wrexham. They do have a former league one striker in Paul mullin but at least they are living up to standards unlike psg, Chelsea and even united
McElhenny and Reynolds are the cleanest and most caring foreign owners you could ever have. The people complaining will complain no matter what so honestly just ignore them. Congratulations Wrexham!
@@punjabiprincess908Wrexham have history. They're also owned by 2 people as a sole club not a group. Also even Hollywood stars would struggle with Prem clubs
Dunno how much Ryan and Rob spent on the club but the boom money came from good marketting in digital media aided by the fame of the owners. They got money from selling their brand so seems fair to me. Lets see how far they go
As they say, all fair in love and war. Ryan Reynold is a well known personality in hollywood. It'll be dumb not to use that to their advantage. As long as its not something shady like doping or ref buying
People are just jealous that their club wasn’t picked for investment. The celebrity owners really look after the players. If the players have side gigs, the owners support and open doors for them. That’s genuine care. You can’t hate that.
And I don't want to hear a single Wrexham fan telling me I should give them sympathy when they come tumbling back down the football league in a decade or so.
@@mmanu6126 "I don't care if half the football league goes bust as a result of clubs furthering the inflationary crisis in football, taking clubs away from fans and losing thousands of people their jobs. So long as I get to see my club be relevant for a few years before disappearing into nothing again." Selfish and stupid.
I think its also good for other clubs in league 1/2 , national league and championship because there are more people watching lower England's league because of wrexham
They did a good job to help become promote lower league football and from the Netflix series we can see the dedication that the owners put in help the club grow and promote to higher tier. 😊🎉
Just jealous it's not their club. Rather have Rob and Ryan as an owner than some 4th tier saudi prince who only see's the club as a busines, that just happens to have a football team on it's books. (Source: Blades fan)
No doubt about it, you've won a league twice over us and deserved them fair play, we have a league record title and ultimately we're entering league 1 at the same time so I'm hardly upset about it I just have a competitve respect for Stockport. Let's see how we both adjust next season, look forward to our clashes as always!
In every league there’s always a club that has a financial superpower and Wrexham aren’t the first. Chelsea spent over a billion pounds to get worse. It’s not about how much you spend it’s about how much they are willing to adapt, learn and fight for the name and badge of the club. I love what Wrexham AFC is doing. It’s unfortunate other clubs in those leagues don’t have owners like WAFC but how is it their fault that the other club owners aren’t as rich or richer than but just not ambitious enough. The club is one of the oldest in the world and their fans deserve to see them play in the top leagues where they feel like they belong. This is what the owners of WAFC are trying to achieve by all means possible.
They raised the profile of the EFL much higher than it should. They got Americans to care about the National League. And the docuseries admittedly had too much focus on Rob anf Ryan but it also showed the other clubs in the system. The focus on Notts County and their promotion fight was amazing. When they get to the Championship, which I think they will, they’ll have a whole slew of interesting teams for better storytelling.
nah those who argue their success are just salty, unlike the bigger clubs, wrexham owners are not brainlessly buying players that has a high price mark, instead they went for the stable route using their funds correctly, there are already clubs before them that was taken over by millionaires but still failed.
@@Chloethemarxenjoyerso you’re salty a player choose to do something for them?. Lol. Keep hating boy, notts county is going back to the national league.
@@Chloethemarxenjoyer so what? Should everyone be poor to make it?. Forster saw an opportunity and took it, Ryan Reynolds’s saw an opportunity with wrexham and took it. Should people be guilty of finding success when they haven’t broken any rules?. You’re jealous and understandable but you’re wrong when you say they bought it. It’s nobody’s fault your club couldn’t do the same.
it made me actually pay attention to lower league football for the first time really ever! i’ve been following ryan tafazolli now with Wycombe Wanderers for a while, and now just finished the sunderland netflix docuseries and gonna be checking them out more too!
What financial advantage? If you compare Wrexham with EPL or English 2nd tier league teams, they are still not a 'Rich' club. The owner simply willing to invest more in the team. Many club owners are richer than them, but it is called high risk, high return which we all have listened. Wrexham owners simply managed to run their club well and believed in their players.
Yeah and if you compare the royal family to Elon Musk they're not rich either, that doesn't mean they're not rich. Why are you comparing a league 2 team to a premier league teams?
womp womp, the hollywood boys care about the culture and respect it deeply and want to learn it and they are giving those fans so much joy, and doin it fairly
love them and in FM22 I got them to the Premeir leage in 5 won the Europa Conference league winners in my first season in Prem (I won the league cup whilst in Championship) and in my 8th season I won the premiership.
Both of them respect the club, the city, the tradition, but what the most important thing is, they respect the people. Of course you need money, Wrexham deserves to raise up again! Nice greetings from Germany❤
As a Californian who, was aware of, but knew very little (almost nothing about anything below the epl). I'm am far most familiar and have much more respects for clubs in the championship, league1 and and League 2. I have far more respect and appreciation for clubs like Stockport County, Notts County, and Crawley Town just to name a few. These lower leagues are far more marketable than we would have known.
This is why I think the rise of Wrexham is fundamentally a good thing for lower league clubs. Far more people outside of geographical proximity are now paying attention to/ are invested in lower league football. Awesome to see!
I love Wrexham's story. The fact that Ryan Reynolds is a marketing genius helped them tremendously. Let's not forget that it was their own money they put up to fix up the pitch, hire the management staff and coaches. It was not looking good for anyone at the of the first season, so kudos to the players and staff for making miracles happen. UP THE TOWN !!! ❤❤❤😊
I love it, I’m from the US and the way Rob and Ryan approached building the team is how you get good teams in the us in American football and that’s forking out the money and they have done it with back to back leaving up hell yeah. US boys know how to win in sports
I could understand the jealousy more if it was a club who had never played played in the EFL, but Wrexham were a good side when I was a kid and played as high as tier 2 briefly, even famously knocking Arsenal out of the FA Cup once, a lot of what's happening now is returning them to their rightful home after a long period of terrible ownership where they came very close to disappearing as a club altogether, I couldn't be happier for Wrexham and can't wait for them to be the best side in Wales.... again!
We live in an age where people find something to hate no matter what. It’s cool story. I think the real challenge starts next season with league one hopefully they make it to the championship
Not a fan of wrexham but I love the series and want to see them get promoted higher, Ryan and Rob genuinely care about the club and the town, people can hate, but mainly because it’s not happening to their club.
The haters are just jealous… Rob and Ryan are in it for the right reasons. They breathed new life into the Wrexham community, not just the football team (men and women). This is an awesome story, and I cannot wait to watch the next chapters!!!
I mean. Rob and Ryan’s net worth is only like $400-500mil together… which is pretty low compared to just about every other owner(s). And they are building up a town that was on its last leg. It’s impressive what boosting up a community can do for a team. You can take a look at every other sport, towns that are on their last leg, don’t tend to have good teams. And Rob and Ryan are investing in the community and the players. Making sure they have something even after they leave/retire.
point is Wrexham shouldn't even have been in the non league to begin with ... the fault of it was on the former owner of the team who tried to ruin the club and sell the club's stadium basically behind the clubs back as an example ( I don't know the full story of it but I gave an example of what was wrong with former owners ) Rob and Ryan however they do care about the club, the city / town of Wrexham to and the public around the club or whatever the word for it is
*People when owners take over and don't care about their club:* _Clueless pricks who only care about the money, they're destroying the club, get them gone._ *People when owners take over and properly run the club, bringing them success:* _They're ruining football, they have an unfair finantial advantage, it's a disgrace._ _In other words, it's only ok for a Rise to happen after a take over if the club only does slightly better than they did before, but remains mediocre._ _It's not like Wrexham are doing shit like Man City or PSG, where they're using their finantial power to break rules and benefit from it without being punished, both Rob and Ryan have done brilliant things for the club and community surrounding the club without any shady business, they deserve all the success they're getting._
Financial advantage isn’t a fair criticism unless it’s owners simply injecting money. The financial advantage with Wrexham is legitimate: the owners raised the profile of the club, marketed the club, and now can command deals worth more due to that higher coverage. The reality is that TikTok pay to be on the show and the documentary, and every news article about it, rather than to be seen at a 4th division stadium or on one of the few games that might be televised each year. They have a financial advantage because they generate a whole additional, highly lucrative revenue stream that dwarfs the “traditional” one.
Poor Mansfield Town. A proper working class club in a former mining town in North Nottinghamshire; they’ve had to scratch and claw, losing playoff finals, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion time and time again. Only for this year, with a patchwork defence held together with sticky tape and pure guts… FINALLY managing to secure that elusive automatic promotion spot. This wonderful story is entirely overshadowed by Wrexham who use their Hollywood money to just buy themselves out of non-league and out of league 1. It’s so anti-football. And you know what? It’s not fair.
It's jealousy that's all it really is. Becuase we know if they have done this with their team in the national league. They would have no issue with it.
Any club, who hates what Wrexham have achieved, are only jealous that it hasn’t happened to them. Most towns would give up everything to have such loving owners come in and surge their club forward.
The same people complaining about they putting touch into the club would complain if they did the opposite too, you just can't please haters, they live to hate
Forget about the team badge and history for a moment. This story should happen again and again with multiple other clubs. Put the finances back into the football system as a whole. All the money sits at the top and in the lower leagues people just maintain the status quo and exist. Teams get poorly managed and finances go upside down. The end result is less football. Less affordable football for average ‘local’ people who don’t support the big 6 etc. and for the country where the sport and the leagues started that is the biggest shame. Keep the game alive. Keep the communities going. Doing what Rob and and Ryan have done can give other teams more than a fair fighting chance at promotion and glory. Then ultimately the fans who have supported their local sides their whole lives can reap the rewards and the special memories.
Im a fan of a historic EFL team, and I look at wrexham and couldn’t care less that they are the 3rd oldest club, they weren’t an EFL founding member like us, haven’t spent 7 and a half decades in the top flight, competed in the Europa League and they don’t have 4 FA Cups. They are a tinpot side, from a tinpot country (Wales) and had they not been bought would not be where they are. They are a disgrace to the EFL, and shouldn’t be allowed to just climb up the divisions like this. RIP to Football, killed by CFC, MCFC, MKDONS, SALFORD, NUFC, and now WREXHAM.
