I think it’s nice to see kids being so passionate about this club instead of the big six. I’m a Watford fan and we’re a fairly decent sized club and many people in the town still choose to be Arsenal & Chelsea etc. I think it’s great what they’ve done at Wrexham
I'm from South Wales and my son is growing up (and we live) on the South Coast of England. However, due to the number of National League teams in a driveable distance, we have watched a lot of Wrexham games. We went up to Wrexham last year and we really enjoyed the buzz and the beautiful nearby scenary of North Wales. Really great what's happening to them.
I think it's cool to see the hype around Wrexham, and im interested to see how far they can go. Must also say, that 1934 touch was a nice touch for sure
You know, I think they have the money to make it championship but not the Premier League at the highest. I mean, owners at that level are almost all billionaires.
@@nicestoriesnottherealstori3006 Itll still be some time before theyre at the premiere league, even if they get promoted every year from now on, we're still talking 3 years. Ryan Renolds is oroving to be a shrewd and effective businessman. The bigger deal isnt the net worth of the 2 actors however, its the exposure they bring to the club. Through the documentary and the reach of the actors, hes brought MAJOR money into a previously national league club (there is zero way Expedia would ever sponsor a national league club otherwise). This seems to be a big part of their plan given every interview about the club they discuss their plans of increasing exposure. It seems they may plan to make up for their inherent lack of net worth for extremely lucrative sponsorship deals.
@@Jimmys_TheBestCop He was a part owner and it sold for just over a billion. Even if he somehow got 500 million from that (he didn't) that would be incredibly far from a billion
As a fellow Chelsea fan, I wish we had owners as invested in this team beyond just signing big players to get results. The people of Wrexham deserve this team.
Well, Chelsea had that, the only down side is that he is a war criminal. If you look at Abramovich as only a football club owner, he's easily the GOAT in any league and it's not even close. Boehly is one of the biggest clowns we've ever seen, and is more or less the Ted Lasso of PL owners, except he won't have any sort of redemption arc.
@@actuallynotsteve Not even close to Berlasconi at AC Milan. Turned them into the powerhouse of Europe in the late 80s and 90s. Liverpool were a dull second division cup until David Moore's built them into one of the greatest sides ever to the point they dominated British football for 20 years and won European cups galore. Abramovic was nothing special. He was losing 900k a week on Chelsea and it was rumoured he was thinking of selling at some point or raising season tickets to ridiculous prices.
I believe this gal has a future in broadcasting (sports or otherwise) if it's something she desires. Nice reporting, and LOVED how she talked about other team's struggles and the issue of owners not having the best intentions for the teams they're investing in. You go girl! ❤☮🌎
I loved this s an American, we don't get to know the joys and perils of promotion and relegation, and how it can truly affect a smaller club and town. When you were speaking about your club, you could hear the emotion in your voice...Great job on this.
i couldn’t believe it when i found out american sports don’t have relegation and promotion! i feel like it would be so exciting seeing, for example, what teams in the NFL would win the super bowl AND also get relegated / see what new ones would come in
As a Bolton Wanderers fan I know all about greedy horrible owners who nearly destroy clubs. Thankfully we have an incredible, kind, caring owner in Sharon Brittan. Who has come in and rescued us from going out of business. Fair play to Wrexham and their fans. The football team is the heartbeat of any working class community. I wish them all the best for the exciting times that lie ahead.
As an Australian, previously not remotely interested in Soccer, I stumbled over this woman and have found myself suddenly intrigued. Not by the game of course, I'd rather watch paint grow. But the passion and devotion the fans have for their clubs is both fascinating and heartwarming, and this woman has a way of presenting the fan's love of the game, and their respective clubs, that has me in awe.
You Essex Boys should chip in to buy the Club together. Look at Swansea where local Businessmen bought the Club from an Aussie Leech for £1. And took them to The Prem.
Watched Your "Im struggling video" dealing with mental health issues. We 've all been there! Glad you made that video, and you pulled through! Sometimes, its gud just to take a break and recharge if things ever getting too much with life, or with utube expectations!🙏❤
Beautiful comment. Taking a break from everything extra shouldn’t be looked down on. It’s super refreshing and you come back super grateful for everything
Well done, I really enjoyed this! My husband and I traveled to Wrexham in January and received the MOST generous welcome from the community. Looking forward to returning.
This is a honest and balanced assessment of our town and club. Everything you said is what I was brought up to believe. We’re not perfect but we’re generous, kind, welcoming and proud of our town. Thank very much for a really enjoyable vlog.
As a Wrexham fan and a wrexham lad born and bred this was an amazing video and I was so happy to see you reference the Gresford disaster because my Great Grandad Jack was there and just as it happened he went off shift to go watch Wrexham train before the game the next day actually but went back to assist in the rescue effort, honestly though the rest of this video was just brilliant!
I’m surprised the club doesn’t find an occasion to play the Gresham Hymn at some time during the season - perhaps at half time on the anniversary. It is an awesome piece of music.
This video is absolutely superb. As a fellow Bolton fan I completely agree. But Nieve you have a serious skill here, you can capture and put into words what it means to be a football fan. Not many really can do that. It’s quite unique.
Why do I feel like she’s about to cry at any moment?? Or is it a West Midlands accent on steroids? Sounds like you’re complaining and miserable about your life at all times? Depressing!
Just saw elements of this video featured in episode 3 (Nott Yet) of season 2 of 'Welcome to Wrexham', so I came here to watch the video in full. Loved it. Great job @stuntpegg.
Class. As an American and fan of the game I was drawn to Wrexham as were many others. Thanks for an honest delivery and shining a light on why people support this club. It made an already great story even better in my opinion.
Don't be fooled by the apparent love-in for the local football club... Wrexham is a mere 20 miles from Liverpool, and this club was very much an afterthought for the vast majority of locals before the tv cameras came to town.
Thank you so much on behalf of wrexham. For your honest but lovely words. I hope more clubs have the opportunity we now have. Ryan and Rob didn't just come in and bring the fat sacks of money. They also gave the whole of wrexham and surrounding areas something to join together to be proud of again. Sometimes its little silly things like a free aviation gyn night in the turf or just seeing them around the town. But it's all positive things for the town that I'm so proud of. Thanks again your time will come just like ours did. take care ❤
Spot on. I'm a Blackpool supporter and we went through our own dark days with the previous owner. We'll probably go down this season but at least we're not worried about the ownership.
Nieve excellent work. My wife’s grandfather was one of the miners who perished that day. Thank you for acknowledging what the 1934 represents on the shirt❤
As a Leyton Orient fan I'm really pleased for Wrexham being promoted. A proper club with history and big fanbase. They were the first I saw play Orient way back in August 1978 and they beat us.
This video got me emotional when you talked how many clubs are ruined by dishonest owners since recently my team Inter Zaprešić filed for bankruptcy and got disbanded, it's a club from my town and it won the first ever Croatian Cup, played in the Croatian top flight for the majority of the last 30 years, ending up in the 2nd tier for some years, but usually winning promotion pretty soon. We even had famous Croatian players in our club on loan from Dinamo Zagreb, like Modrić, Eduardo Da Silva, Lovren, Ćorluka... Couple of years ago some wealthy investors were about to buy the club and save it, but the pandemic changed everything, the deal didn't go through and the club is gone. 😢
Live in France and every week I follow the Wrexham games on RU-vid. And now because of this young lady I follow the whole lower league scene! Thanks Neve!
I'm a Cardiff fan and as a Welshman, am super proud of Wrexham. The town and club. It's a great town and I like to think they are great representatives of Welsh people in general. I live in the Rhymney Valley, north of Cardiff. It would be interesting to see your take on South Wales rugby clubs. You'll certainly find some characters. Great videos.
I saw this video when it first came out, and to be honest I avoided watching it the first few times I saw the thumbnail because I thought it would just be another video attacking Wrexham. Instead it was an amazingly insightful and thoughtful video that also introduced me to the amazing presenter. And the second I started watching Wrexham episode 3, I just knew she had to be part, if not the inspiration of the entire episode. Well done and congratulations!
Wonderful to see you in the documentary! I found your channel last year after looking for more Wrexham content and just love your passion for the game! Hope this leads to more opportunities for you 😊
This is awesome. On a different note, I just came across your other videos when you mention depression. Honestly, you are one of my favourite RU-vidrs. I always look forward to your videos coming out. Your knowledge and passion for the game is amazing. Coming from a working class background myself (West Brom supporter), I know exactly where you're coming from as a Bolton fan. Please, please, please never lose hope and keep up the AMAZING work. Your contributions on here are outstanding and you are lovely human being. The emotion in your voice on this video - this is 100% authentic. There is a light that never goes out said someone once from 'up north' (Morrissey)
You are so wise beyond your years. You really get it! No one needs to feel in any way negative towards Wrexham. A small town (locals will never call it city) full of community spirit and passion for their team who deserve a break. The whole of north wales is very proud and are so grateful for everything ryan and rob have done for the club and the profile of wales as a whole
A really enjoyable piece. I'm a Spurs fan and I've been following the Wrexham story closely. Its so great to see what passionate honest ambitious and what seems like really nice owners can do for a club and the wider community. Spurs might be a Top 6 Premiership club with a shiny new stadium but we have terrible owners and its causing division and vitriol amongst the fanbase. I'm jealous of Wrexham. I wish them and their town all the best.
@@stuntpeggnieve Thank you and I think it leads to a wider point about the connection of the club to the fans. It seems the higher you go up the football pyramid then this becomes a real gulf. For example Daniel Levy and Spurs owners couldn't be more remote if they tried. They dont even speak to the media to explain their terrible decisions. Anyhow going off topic. Keep up the great work, glad I've discovered your channel. I think I'll make a pilgrimage to see Wrexham play next season.
Emotional, very moving Neve....very insightful video, even with the Documentary I didn't know about the 1934 disaster, if it was in I missed it, or forgot (?), As I binged watched the entire season in two nights! So may have just missed it as did fast forward a few times. Very informative video Neve, and you're quite lovely too! Not hard to watch!👏👍😁
Excellent video and thoughts. I live in Rhode Island, USA, and new nothing about the Wrexham story until yesterday when the news hit America. And because of Ryan and Rob, it really hit. Well, they have proven themselves as the real thing. CONGRATULATIONS to the entire Wrexham community on your promotion. You all sincerely deserve it! It will only get better from here. The money will start coming in and lives will be improved! I went to the teams web site to but a hat, but almost everything was sold out! Dream big and keep the faith and hunger. The higher you go...the harder it gets. Love to you all.
Loving the way you talk about owning a football club , talking about it with passion and sincere honesty you'd wish that more people see the football world like you do. Awesome video anyways, greetings from a Ajax fan🎉
Brilliant! I watched this when you first posted it and now, being featured in Welcome to Wrexham, I hope this grows you a truly massive global audience, becase you deserve it Nieve!
Great piece with a great feel for the beauty and substance of your collaborators. You deserve to have a long and successful in journalism and/or media.
Fantastic piece Neve. Terrific balance, snappy cuts, and tons of heart. Keep up the great work. I’m from the US and just discovering Wrexham. Thanks you!!
Not English, but the country I grew up in, my team suffered similar fates to Wrexham. There was massive money raising efforts that did eventually save the club. However it was how much that supporters of other teams contributed that really touched me deeply. They had no other reason to do it than, ya know that could be my team and I know how I would feel
It's like watching the interview after Wrexham won. They gave support to Notting when they didn't have to. I really wish more people in lower divisions were like that.
Just found your channel and I'm so glad I did. I appreciate your knowledge and passion for football! I, as an American, am learning just what football (not throwball) means to each club's supporters. Thank you for the wonderful and enlightening content!
It is amazing how many clubs are still suffering from these kind of negligible owners even after the EFL''s scheme to try and root these kind of owners from gaining ownership of clubs
I watched that video, and it was perfect. Football, history of the town and club , meeting locals and fans you covered what I'd like seeing. Thankyou. New subscriber 💪
Being from the town Ive long known about the Gresford disaster, but I didn’t know of the connection to the club and the Tranmere game, so thank you. Most of those poor sods are still buried down there. Great vid Neve, now just one last big effort on Saturday to secure the dream, they’ve been down far too long.
Tranmere fan here. Now 65. Very aware of the Gresford tragedy. My Nain and Taid obviously Norths Wales. I never knew the game that day was Wrexham v Tranmere. So very, very sad. Best wishes to you.
Big greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰 - Ive been following the club since 2021...What a great and honost story...You are a remarkable person 🙏 - Can't wait to visit your city and feel its energy and community 😃 And big gratz on the promotion 🏴 🏴Up the town🏴 Cheers from a Danish fan 🤘😎
OMG you are so awesome at this. Had a tear in my eye and finished with a giggle. One of the big networks needs to give you a gig doing this sort of thing. It is wonderful having the lower leagues covered by someone with such empathy, knowledge, insight and humour.
I'm so impressed by you this is an absolutely amazing video I'm a United friend from Miami in the states I've been following the welcome to wrexham and y'all are now competing with being my favorite Club it's absolutely incredible the story just experiencing it you can feel the love coming through the screen it's incredible
That was great.. Your obvious passion and empathy with the working class roots of football and it's importance to the community shines through. Keep up the messages..
Brilliant video. I love the friendly people at lower league grounds. It's refreshing to see your videos about the people at clubs, what it means to them, to their community. The friendliest places I've been to (Ballymena, Stevenage, Stranraer and Torino) all share common values of a warm welcome and a love of the game, a love of their team. The media talk about the loyal and passionate supporters at clubs like Newcastle and yes they are passionate but no more so than supporters of Rochdale, Gillingham or Exeter, there just happens to be more of them. I've lived in Wrexham for a few years, never knew about the 1934 memorial date on their shirts, nice one. Great video
I've just watched one of your videos for the first time. You get it, you really get football, and you put your passion over so well. I look forward to seeing you as a football journalist or pundit one day. I really do.
What an excellent video. Great work, Nieve - both on the reporting, the sentiments, and - most of all - resisting those drum-banging urges :D Much love from Norway - hope someone comes and injects some money in the club of your heart!
Colin, Matt and the rest of the media guys at Wrexham are a true delight, they’ve said I’m welcome back any time. A return visit (dare I jinx it) in League 2, is simply a must. Thank you!
