Yeah, cultural appreciation being mistaken as cultural appropriation, sadly. A lot of the times, it's just folks who jump the gun and don't do their own research, too.

They’re a hip hop and r&b based group is what people seem to not understand or accept, their issues include how their voice sounds when they rap , that apparently they’re tryna sound “black” which makes zero sense especially when u realize they sound exactly the same outside the studio lol. People see Asian women actually spitting bars and have flow like RAPPERS because that’s what they are and expect them to sound like anime characters lol. It’s obvious who the actual target audience for XG is. As for the hairstyles - calling someone out for Cultural appropriation over the simple actions of having braids in your hair is ridiculous. Never have I heard of a more stupid thinking. Especially when these apparent hairstyles cause no harm , have shown no disrespect, or done any world changing action or try to tear down a specific group of ppl. People just use anything they can dig up to deem an issue and hate. It’s quite unfortunate. Real fans watch the interviews, see the documentary, look at the lyrics, look at the inspiration, the passion, the love… and honestly all I see is culture appreciation and love. It’s funnny when I encounter ANY XG hater and their only argument is the hairstyles and how they sound when they rap but can’t actually give any other valid reasons or offer any sort of proof that XG disrespects the culture and even more hilarious 9 times out of ten , they don’t even know anything about XG period. That alone shows all I need to know.

It's been shown that Scandinavians ( Vikings) wore braids and sure they weren't the only ones. Same's likely true for most examples of culture. Ugg the cave man apperantly used to club likely maidens over the head with a bat/club and now Americans are hitting a ball with one - guess I'm trying to make light of what's generally hater types looking for hits them selves. @@paul-he there's a lot of people that really just want to associate a lot of "appropriating" black culture as hate. Again, this is just misinformation from people who dont really care about culture (if they do then they just should have checked if the people are mocking or not), they just feel attacked all the time (victim mentality). We're listening to people who have researched, have black people as their producers/choreographers/idea makers, and yet we still face lot of hate. That's just normal now for celebrity/music industry/any social media

Like I don’t get why people make such a big fuss about hair. Like black people can Color their hair blonde and nobody cares, but when some non black has braids they cry so much. It is just hairstyle in the end.

@@Real-ranchiaThat’s exactly what I hate about kpop idols in general. I can’t tell them apart. From the voice to the faces to the music. XG girls are ALL beautiful and I am able to identify & appreciate each member. Why would I support groups that look so unnatural and don’t even have half the talent? Especially since most groups now just lipsync even their ‘live’ performance. Lol

It really comes down to people not accepting the idea that 7 Japanese ladies can be immersed into hip hop and actually rap and have flow and a style that’s “too similar” to western fashion and sound. People are very one sided and stuck in this bubble of their own Comfortability. That if they see anyone that’s not black , try hip hop and western swag and style , it’s automatically deemed racist or CA…. But those same ppl aren’t even old enough to realize that TRUE hip hop from the beginning was a movement, a way of life, a symbol. It was a movement for ALL people to be apart of and showcase themselves and be free and speak against. Never was it solely open to one specific color of people. We know who the blueprint is who is the creators, that doesn’t mean no one else outside that group of people can’t be apart of it ! Further more XG shows endless appreciation and respect to black women and men who have inspired them and the songs they grew up on from western artists who have led to them taking that passion into their own music. These girls are legit and have came from the passion of hip hop and actually have knowledge on it unlike other groups!

La gente lo llama CA porque están acostumbrados a grupos de kpop y son tan racistas que no pueden diferenciar a un grupo de chicas Japonesas de ese genero que siempre ha utilizado otras culturas como accesorios. A pesar de que XG y XGALX han dicho incontables veces que no son kpop. Si fueran más educados, sabrían y aceptarían el hecho de que XG es un grupo JAPONÉS, y en Japón se aprecia la cultura Hip hop y R&B. A diferencia de otros países, en Japón no es imitación o apropiación, es APRECIACIÓN.

@@Real-ranchia It's okay if you disagree with me. Im a multi-fan and I like STAYC (specially J) and I like NMIXX too (Bae-Jin(ni) ex member -Sulyoon) too. But the complete qualities I have mentioned above are not with both or the other K-pop groups. There's always some quality lacking. XG is a complete-quality girl group. That's why i said "98% of KPOP groups" coz STAYC, NMIXX, and other 4th gen gg can sing live too, but not as good and not as complete package as the *7 gorgeaous talented aliens.* ♥♥♥

They used YG's studio to shoot one video but they never said they were from YG. They always said they were from XGALX which is a Subsidiary of AVEX. It wasn't so much misinformation as it was people jumping to the wrong conclusion prematurely.

@@SoulVocalDandelion To promote in Korea they need a physical address within the country, as well as a registration in the music industry, so in effect XgalX is a physical entity and not just a registered trademark and/or intellectual property, so the comment that it is a Avex subsidiary is right

I hear you! I didn’t necessarily wanna make a “guide” though, there’s already plenty of those out there. I wanted to make a series talking about their rise and hence the title, this was the introduction, just basic enough for someone who’s not very familiar with them to watch and get an understanding of who they are. Yo también tengo esa imagen de que los artistas japoneses son geniales para escribir canciones, componer el sonido/música y cantar. Si hay grupos o artistas en solitario que se deciden a también incluir baile, entonces sus habilidades de baile también son muy buenas. Ojo: Esto no incluye a los idols Kawaii que tienen un propósito distinto, que es el de crecer en habilidades junto a sus fanáticos. Para mí, los visuales de XG son fantásticos al natural y con maquillaje. Además, tienen físicos tonificados y saludables. Y en MI OPINIÓN (MIA solamente), no puedo decir eso de ningún artista que haya visto del kpop. Sus visuales se ven muy falsos y con uso excesivo de maquillaje. Con falsos no me refiero a las cirugías (que todos sabemos que varios se hacen), sino a la obsesión con características faciales que no son naturales y con cuerpos casi en huesos porque sino te hacen bullying por ser "gordo".
