Glad Louisville is in position for a conference championship instead of just being an above average bowl team(6-6 or 7-5). Brohm definitely Coach at the highest level.
REAL QUICK...Notre dame did NOT have a "previous loss to Duke".... lol they beat Duke in the last seconds... they lost to Ohio State the week before Duke. That was their only loss entering the louisville game lol so ya give louisville our credit. Lol they DID NOT lose to Duke lol
UofL fan here. You were 100% spot on with everything. I appreciate Satterfield for getting us out of the mess he inherited, but it was clear towards the end that it wasn’t going to work out. The Brohm’s are a big name in the city of Louisville and I think he is going to do great there. Great video and Go Cards! Always love the content you have put out
43 year Cardinals fan...football and basketball here. I bleed Cardinal red for sure. That being said... We have had our share of good coaches at UofL over the past 30 or so years and I have supported pretty much every one of them (aside from two) but...Satterfield SUCKED at Louisville! The only worse head coach being Steve Kragthorpe who I said put this program back over 5 years with his stubborn "my way or the highway" type of mentality. The players barely related to him at all and he all but buried Louisville football in his tenure as head coach. This was the trench we had to dig our way out of. Petrino, aside from his embarrassing off field shenanigans (mainly at Arkansas), was a really good football coach at both Western Kentucky and both stops at Louisville as far as I am concerned. I saw what Satterfield did at Appalachian State and had high hopes for him but I watched such a slow deterioration in performance under his tenure and it was like getting gut punched over and over until he chose to move on to Cincinnati...and I am glad he did. I feel like they are already feeling some of the same frustration losing Fickell as we did losing Petrino with being replaced by Scott Satterfield. Jeff Brohm was the best hire we could make. His family is legend in the Louisville area going back to Oscar Brohm and I think we will be at least competitive for years to come with him as head coach. Scott, thanks for making these videos and I loved the one about Harrison Bailey (hopefully Plummer's successor at UofL) as well. After seeing both of these I happily subscribed to your channel.
@@johnnyo8903 Cooper was worse too. Satterfield does not belong on the Power 5 Level. Especially when he using Group of 5 level Recruiting and Schemes.
Louisvillian and Louisville fan here, you said everything right. Your predictions and takes are very reasonable and you even know how to correctly pronounce “Louisville”. My preseason prediction was 7-5 and I can see us going 10-2 now, dropping two to either Miami, Duke, or UK. Go Cards!
Small note, when you talk about "Brohm watch", you insinuate that Louisville chose Satterfield over Jeff Brohm in 2019. Jeff Brohm was the #1 name on Louisville's list then as well, he interviewed with then AD Vince Tyra, but Brohm ultimately decided to stay at Purdue since he had not been there very long. I don't mean to be nit-picky, but I think it's an important detail because it shows the amount loyalty Jeff Brohm had to doing right by his current employer.
I know, i was at Purdue at the time so I followed it closely. I didn't mean to imply that Louisville chose Sat over Brohm. I know Jeff was the one who said no! My b
Still an improvement. This is Satterfield's team. Only team that they played that was good was Notre Dame. ACC is the weakest of Power 5. Clemson was the exception. Florida State is winning again but mostly due to weakness of ACC competition. In my view, Florida State will lose by hefty margin in the playoffs. ACC is a basketball conference. Not even dominant in basketball the past several years. Thre are some really good academic schools, but unfortunately, nobody cares about that.
Louisville is riding high, well deserved, great runner and recievers. Defense is playing really good, but this team although coached really good will only go as far as the quarterback will take them. Jake Plummer has to get better for this team to rise any higher. Lifelong card fan, go cards
I’m still haven’t come down from my Huskies beating Oregon but as I was scanning RU-vid for college content I was reminded of a player I wanted for you to possibly cover. Arizona QB Noah Fifita… It’s his second week in a row as PAC 12 Freshman of the week. Where the hell did this 5’10” kid come from? He’s doing some amazing stuff at Arizona and I was really impressed when he brought Arizona back to within 1 score of Washington. Then a week later he almost beats USC. He’s this tough little kid spraying the ball all over the field and is a really savvy runner. If Arizona gets more talent around him I don’t want to go to the desert anymore…Washington has a hard enough time winning there, but this kid is really good.
Go cards, ppl tend to forget lville has had good football teams under petrino, Charlie strong. Petrino again, and brohm. Were known for basketball but we also have a really good fan base for football, and have had alot of good players go to the nfl, I thought brohm would be a good hire, and I think the future of louisville football is in good hands
Meanwhile with all their resources nebraska goes out and hire matt rhule and his pathetic OC with his egregious play calling( ive been a fan for almost 30yrs & cant believe this)
I don't think Rhule has overwhelmed anywhere he's been his first year. Year 2 is where momentum starts to build with him and then 3 is where his teams start kicking ass and taking names. I know you all in Nebraska have been waiting patiently to return to glory. Hopefully you're comfortable waiting just a little while longer. The patience will pay off. Perhaps with the resources Nebraska has he'll skip a year and kick ass and take names next season.
You did an excellent job on this piece. 10-2 is a very fair prediction at this point, but they actually have a real shot to make the ACC Championship Game. It has been a great season so far and perhaps we won't be so overlooked and dismissed next year.
Interesting. Practice was always 1 and 2's. Then the practice squad was the 3 & 4's. Spring ball is where folks compete to start. There was no depth chart. Then two-a-days in August would confirm the depth chart going into the season. This TE is crazy. 1 versus scout team benefits the scout team player because you are competing against the 1st team at full speed. Which helps the scout team player broadly. Recognition and Reaction specifically. AND often the scout player who balls out in practise versus #1 would practice with the 1's and 2's. This TE is crazy or lazy. I have never heard of a player complaining that they didn't get to practice as #1. Baylor sucks this year. Maybe if Baylor was not so religious and hypocritical Football players would want to go there. Just saying are we for getting the legacy of Briles? For consistency TCU sucks this year. Get over it.
Make a video about new Oregon rising star Teitum Tuioti he is starting as a true freshman for the ducks and doesn’t get talked about enough his father is tony Tuioti who is the d line coach for Oregon and he attended Sheldon high school in Eugene and you should make a vid about him
As a Purdue fan I’m glad to see coach Brahm having success, even if it is with another school. I feel like most of the Purdue fans I’ve talked to are unhappy about his success
Brohm IMMEDIATELY FIXED a ton of DUMB that Satterfield insisted on. Satterfield INSISTED on never having enough Line Depth and having SMALL Linemen on O and D He INSISTED on playing a 3-4 Defense which requires a HUGE Nose Guard and Multiple Linebackers some of the hardest positions to land Top Talent at Louisville He INSISTED on a Simple Offense that COULD have worked behind a HUGE Line that he never recruited/landed And wasted DECADES of Tradition and Identity at a school that was always known best for stretching the field with Pocket Passer and Multiple Receivers by CHOOSING to bring in Option Styled Running Backs that couldn't THROW THE BALL the way an Elite QB can, causing the Receivers he did land to Transfer Out continously BROHM comes in and brings in a HUGE Offensive Line, Pocket QBs, several play-making receivers and RBs that can catch the ball out of the backfield. He increased Team Speed at every position and installed an ELITE Offensive System. But the biggest game changer was to abandon the DUMB 3-4 Defense and go with a 4-2-5. Remember what I told you about types of player Louisville has the most trouble landing? With 4 Linemen you don't need the HUGE Nose Guard they could not find and only needing 2 Linebackers you need to find HALF as many. The program has always been able to find GOOD LOCAL Strong Safety types... why not play 2 of them instead of 1. These are all examples of replacing DUMB with COMMON SENSE. Replacing Stubborn NONSENSE with FOOTBALL SENSE. Official Prediction 12 Wins - 2 Losses.
Yup, I think the brohm hire was one of the best hires for this job, I think the future will be good under him, look at what he's doing already, wait until we start getting high rated players again, we're gonna be good
Avoid an upset and beat Duke at home (with a bye week before which is big) and we'd beat 10-0 going to Miami with a chance to play for an ACC championship and maybe even a playoff spot
@@luckylucas8596 I hadn't even seen that yet when I wrote the comment but now Louisville doesn't even have conference chip hopes anymore because FSU and UNC don't play each other or Louisville and they will both almost certainly win out
The rise & rebirth of Louisville football? How so? They play a very weak ACC schedule: No FSU, no Clemson, no UNC & not even Syracuse. After beating a mediocre ND team, Louisville got their asses kicked by a 1-4 Pitt team who was lead by their 2nd string QB.
Said from someone who probably hasn't watched a single U of L game this year The pitt game was a recipe for disaster when we were down our best receiver and best running back. On top of playing in a heavy rain on real grass when our home field is synthetic. It wasn't a great showing but it also wasn't our top form by any stretch of the imagination. We beat two ranked teams this year and we still play on the road to Miami.
