A full length backpacking trip vlog along the Salmon River trail. My first time in this expansive wilderness which turned out to be an excellent trip in a very remote area. This particular trail is an excellent early season trip as the snow melts out in March/early April most years.

It’s actually to prevent the local marmots from setting up camp in your engine bay lol I guess it’s a good shelter to them

Are the regulations for backpackers different for floater? Fires not in fire pans is a big no no. Did you have to check in with the ranger at Corn Creek before you started on the trail?

I don’t believe there are any regulations on hikers as of April. You don’t need a permit, which I believe is required for floating. I also don’t think you have to check in with the ranger but she kindly came up to me and chatted and asked if she wanted to take my name down just in case I didn’t make it back for some reason. And ground fires are permitted in the Frank per the NF website just make sure to follow local bans/regulations.
