Thanks! The Bitterroot’s are amazing! Extremely rugged example of the Rocky Mountains. Deep valleys and tall peaks. This hike, for us anyway, was all about the destination. Views from the top are incredible but it’s a steep rather dull forest hike up. If we were to do it again we would likely take the Baker Lake alternate
I was up there back in 8/2018. it was smoky due to forest fire. Your view is much better. I think this climb is the hardest day-hike (no overnight camping).
Right on dude! It’s an amazing mountain that really gives you that remote feel once you leave the Blanca Lake trail. Have a good climb 🤙 let me know how it goes!
@@mmoutdoors1 Man! The gpx track I was following was definitely a death march. Got lost in the bushwhack, kept looking for the trail. By the time I got out of the weeds it was getting late and I drank up a good portion of my water. Had to turn back. Super solitary indeed when you leave the Blanca Lake trail. Next year I will shoot again, but I'm going to camp out at that meadow where you can see Glacier.
I'm making a memorial video of John and Jill Walker, former owners of Parkside Groceries. John passed a year ago, Jill a couple weeks ago. I came across your lake wenatchee video on youtube and was wondering if I could incorporate it into their memorial. Thanks -Carolyn
Huh wonder why we decided to look at the Lake now. I love the Lakes in WA. BEEHIVE, CLEAR LAKE, LAKE CHARLES, and so many more. I love fishing off the dock of the Bay in Pudget Sound, or taking a Fairy to Port Angeles to dig up shrimp in the sand. The Green worms freaked me out. On one end the worm opens up and has 2 tiny black looking curved pinchers that will grab your finger. It hurts to. Be careful how you pick them up. Good resource for fishing flounder/sole or sea perch off the pilings of the docks at Mukilteo bay.Bay. in Everett, Wa
Thank you! Happy new year to you too! We’ve recently moved to Utah and also my phone(what I use for making videos) has been malfunctioning so my frequency of videos has dropped. I’ll eventually get back into the swing of it. Thanks for watching!
I've done this one in reverse, I don't ever want to come DOWN P3 again. ;). Cool clouds! Crampons (aluminium) - probably not needed but an ice ax would have make this a bit more "comfy".
Yeah I think the ice axe would’ve been some insurance, at least mentally. The snow was mostly soft and sloppy tho. And yeah P3 coming down would be tough on the legs! Straight to the point lol
Great video! That's a lot to pack into 4 minutes. I went up Dragontail on the 30th and ran across a bear at the top of that steep snowfield. Unexpected excitement!
Glad to see Im not the only one jumping into every lake or tarn I can find. Incredible footage my friend! I've been wanting to dragon tail for awhile. This video is inspiring!
Can’t beat a swim mid hike on a hot summer day!! Thanks man. Get out there and do it! It’s beautiful up there. I had considered adding dragon trail to this day but at this time there was a steep snowfield I wasn’t prepared for. I’m sure it’s mostly gone now 👍
I went up last Monday (22AUG) and followed your GPS track - except for when I got overconfident and got off track. It was super helpful! I'd taken an attempt once last year but ran out of time. Significantly less snow and more sun when I went, but the sketchy rock was the same. Such great views, but wore me out! Up in 5:45 and down in 4:00. Never did find the summit register but I have the photos and bushwhacking scars to prove it haha.
Really cool footage from the top man! It looked like you would've had at least a few mins of clearing if you went down to the lake. 🙂Still, super awesome video! Thx for sharing!
We love the Umtanum Creek area - we were just out there camping, birding, and exploring last week! You showcased the beauty of the area with perfection! Well done! Have a great day!
Thanks man! Yeah more of a hobby, kinda fun to make from time to time. If I did it every hike I’d prolly fall out of love with hiking tho🤣. Thanks for checking it out! Hope all is well with you guys👍
There are many cataclysms happening all over the world. This is called cyclicality. In order for people to be able to survive cataclysms, it is necessary to unite and create a Creative Society. This is a project aimed at uniting people around the world. More detailed information can be obtained by watching the conference: Global Crisis. This already affects everyone.
@@mmoutdoors1 I know :( At least the flood wall in downtown Mount Vernon did it's job- it worked really well. Hopefully it turns cold up in the mountains and the moisture falls as snow!!
Yeah we just got a perfect storm of an intial snow pack, then the atmospheric river brought warm air and 5-9 inches of rain to the mountains. So not only snow melt but an absurd amount of rain. The skagit got it worse though. I was up north today, I’ll have a video on that soon. Stay safe as well!
@@mmoutdoors1 Yep, that's our local area ... Skagit and Whatcom are getting flooded big time... as we speak - hope you didn't get stuck in traffic. The Skagit is expected to crest about 3:30 to 4:00 today, hopefully the waters recede pretty quickly! I'll look for your video - Thanks :)
@@JenniferLupine yeah there was some traffic all over, especially after a pretty bad adduce to in i5 NB near Burlington. Looks like it is supposed to recede fairly quickly after cresting 👍
