Thanks for this Jason.. Read this at a very low point in my life. Despite its bleak and depressing tale, the story is surrounded by a huge bubble of hope and love that reminds us that you can only go so low because you have depth and that trying times reveal strengths you never thought you had. And that no matter what tomorrow brings, may it come or may it not, you have the courage to keep on going because the tiny spark of light in you is stronger than any adversity that will ever come your way. You may or may not win, and you know this. But you're sure as hell won't give that final breathe without putting up a fight. 💪

This book moved me. Not in a good way. But the bleak reality we would face after some kind of cataclysm. Literally had to put the book down after the birth scene. But still one of the best reads I've experienced. Highly rate Cormac Mccarthy. Looking forward to blood meridian next.

Great review! I first tried reading this book when I was in middle school and it was so bleak and depressing I had to stop for the sake of my mental health. Picked it back up years later and it was still depressing as hell but it also blew me away. I don't think I would rank this in like his top 3 or anything, but yeah it really is pretty much perfect.
