"free read...and have a lovely day!" is just what I'm already doing, but knowing I need to be doing more, so thank you for reassuring me that this is fine, for some days. And as someone new to this with 6-year-olds, I especially appreciate thoughts on adding additional subjects to RC, and guidelines on amount of time for each age. Regarding math, in case it's helpful to anyone else, I didn't have the cash for RC flash cards as yet, so in the meantime I've started Milne's First Lessons in Arithmetic, with my two. That's working well, and my kids are mostly working each lesson independently, with a small bit of encouragement. It's early days, learning to work quietly, but you could work the lessons aloud, too. It's free, from Google Books, and printable. Alphaphonics works well, too; I came across it before I knew of RC, and have been using it along with Elson Readers (also on Google Books).
