Just started watching so don't know if you mentioned it but there is a conspiracy that connery's character is James bond ....the timelines all match up...someone made a video showing how it was bond...pretty convincing

If you feel like something light hearted there is "What we do in the shadows" movie and show which is a pretty funny modern take on vampires.

I miss movies like this. Sure there's a plot but at the end of the day if you say it's just blowing stuff up + cool shots you're not really wrong either. I heard Nic Cage got into debt and has to take any gig he can as a result. Don't know how much of this is true.

For some odd reason this film brings out my lost accent.

Thoroughly enjoyed the nearly 37 minutes of savagery directed at Michael Bay. It seems that you're quite well informed on film. So it seemed funny that the slow motion you regarded as looking modern (well after 1996 that is). When the true masters of form, that the likes of Tarantino and John Woo emulated, were Akira Kurosawa and Sam Peckinpah.

Don't take this the wrong way. I don't know how old you are, but you look pretty young, and I'm going to try and not sound too condescending here, but that "my old man was Irish" joke went right over your heads. Is that a thing that's not common knowledge anymore? Just so you know, the oversimplified explanation is that the English ruled over, and occupied Ireland for, I don't know, hundreds of years. As they did in Scotland as well, and well a significant amount of countries around the world that the British empire ruled over. It wasn't until the past century that a series of Irish rebellions were able to throw the British out of most of Ireland, with the exception of the country of Northern Ireland which remains as part of the United Kingdom still. Conflict still existed there, known as "the troubles", until the 90s when both sides finally got sick of the violence and death, and a peace was reached. So, even though they're such close neighbors, and there's always been cross immigration between the two, there's still animosity that exists between the Irish and English, particularly the Irish against the English, and now with Brexit, some are concerned that the peace that's existed over the past 20 - 25 years may be strained, and the troubles could kick off again. The only fault with the joke is that in real life, Sean Connery was actually Scottish, not English, but whatever.
