"The Rock-afire Explosion" - Official Trailer 

I grew up near Myrtle Beach and EVERYBODY in the mid-80's went to Showbiz for their birthday parties. I have old home videos of 4-year-old me standing in front of Rock-afire explosion and just staring at them with dilated pupils. Those guys were my heroes! :-)

Personally I think that these guys have more personality than Chuck E Cheese does. On here I love watching them interact with one another, and, even though I love the game, they are better than FNaF. At first I was like all other FNaF fans are, but I quickly learned not to feel that way. They deserve better than they have gotten. Shutting them down was a HUGE mistake.

I had no idea the pizza place in that Gravity Falls episode was a shout-out to this.

I loved the Rock-afire Explosion. Man, those were really the days. I'd revisit them again in a heartbeat.

This movie is... AMAZING!!!!

Although I was born much too late (1996) to have the rockafire explosion be a part of my childhood, seeing these characters still warm my heart. This band and Showbizz pizza were the highlight of many peoples childhoods. My own fathers brightest memories as a child consisted of pizza, pacman, and the rock afire explosion singing happy birthday to him. Thank you Showbizz pizza.

oh man, i wish i could've gone to showbiz pizza. it seems like such a cool place, and the animatronics look cool too! lots of people think they look weird or creepy, but i love them. i kinda wanna open my own animatronic restaurant, one like chuck e. cheese's but with the friendly charm showbiz had. cec seems a little less friendly and more busy than showbiz, but it's kinda the only place like that mimics showbiz around anymore. i wish i was born in the 1960s, then i could go to showbiz like my mom did. dang, i am way too into this animatronic thing, maybe i should study how animatronics are made! then maybe i could open my own restaurant, one just like showbiz.

*GASP!* My childhood just poured through my eyes!! God I MISS Showbiz Pizza!! I had every single childhood birthday at Showbiz/Chuck E Cheese... Rock-afire both amused and terrified me and I loved it! I was pissed the day I went in and the band was gone... it was just boring after that:( And judging from my channel it may have affected me as well:D

I watched this on Netflix this morning. Brought back a lot of memories and nostalgia! It's cool that these nerds are keeping them "alive."

My cousin directed this documentary and every time I see this trailer I think of the times we had together. He's a badass director.

How many people have developed a fascination with animatronic fast food chains like this because of FNAF? I am now in love with ShowBiz Pizza and Chuck E Cheese's and it's all because of FNAF.

I remember when i was little, I wrote a letter of complaint to Chuck E Cheese, complaining, telling them I didn't like Chuck E Cheese and that I wanted Billy Bob back, haha I was like 8 at the time. I got a letter of apology back saying that Billy Bob went out West to retire, still got that letter somewhere haha.

@SpikeLanta Showbiz was the one that had bought out Chuck E Cheese previously actually. It was when the inventor who owned the rights to The Rock-afire Explosion refused to sell them the rights that Showbiz officially rebranded as Chuck E Cheese and changed the band.

I have nothing but fond memories of visiting Showbiz Pizza as a kid, if for no other reason than playing so many classic arcade games under the same roof! Donkey Kong, Mario Bros., Ms. Pac Man, Centipede, Star Wars, Pole Position, you name it, you could play it there for a token or two. :) It's so sweetly surreal seeing these guys in action again, too. I remember the gorilla always creeped me out for some reason.

I was able to see this film early on DVD, it's a MUST see and own for all Rock Afire fans!!!!

there is a working set in Barboursville WV they arent in great condition but im alot younger then most of the people on the video and still have found memories of Billy Bob and the gang because of it.

You know, I've never really cared for places like this but this trailer... is done very well. The attention to shapes, colors, spacing, movement, dialogue, music and pacing is something you don't see often with movies and shows nowadays. I hope this film does well.

The first part of this was worth watching for the nostalgia alone. But, at the point where the guys start rambling about how they met their wives, the whole thing just comes unwound. After that, it starts to feel like Mr. Sunglasses Tan Line was just using the documentary, and the success of the Rock-afire covers on RU-vid to relaunch his career in animatronics. The way he rambles makes it feel exactly like an infomercial.

This was an incredible documentary for fans of the Rock-afire Explosion and Showbiz Pizza, and it really shows you how devoted to the legacy of the characters people are -- from the creator of the show to their biggest fan and many others. I highly recommend it, and it's available for streaming on Netflix!

@JDubbsTheatre back in 93', i was 13 years old and Showbiz had officially turned all power over to chuck e cheese's, and I went to my cousins birthday party when he turned 3. They had a new band, none of the original characters were there, and they also sucked. One good thing about Rockafire was they played alot of POP music, like stuff you'd see on MTV and on the radio and so on. Chuck E cheese's band only played pre-school songs.

There is nothing heart-warming about animatronics after fnaf came out.

I have these guys on tape from when I used to go there for birthday parts in the 80s. the building is still there but it is a buffet place now.. I still have some of the showbiz pizza stuff from there. the ape guy was kind creepy so I never went close to the stage. He looked to real for my kid mind to comprehend.

I don't exactly see what the appeal of these animantronic things are- personally I think they're really creepy .m. I think it's impressive what this guy's done- in fact I think it's amazing! But regardless of how fascinating the inner workings are, the outer features is what I find scary D:

I grew up a block away from one of the first 10 chuck e cheeses in southern CA. in the late 70's and early 80's and when i would go to ohio in the summer they had showbiz. Chuck e cheese was only second to disneyland for what was maximum fun for me. The new chuck e chees's now suck.

Cec killed itself off. Showbiz pizza saved Cec, but at the point where it was nothing like it’s former self, it wasn’t worth it. CEC was just “entertainment” that was for kids. The rockafire was entertaining, and it was kid friendly. Chuck E. Cheese was good when I had characters, unfortunately they managed to saturate and dry up at the same time. Now all that’s left is a spray painted costume of a dead company trying to take its last breathes, with a brain that over powers it’s heart.

Does Creative Engineering still make those? or they stopped?

DVD RELEASES ON 9/29/09!!

Why no more show biz?! I wanna go!!! My dad told me about these places when I was 11 but now there's no more.the animatronics seem cool and advanced for there time in 1900's but now chuck e cheese shut them down. Through my research I could only find three locations that remain.

She is the girlfriend of the creator of the Rockafire thing. She worked the arcade as a teenager and sort of stalked him and then "when she was old enough" they hooked up. He is weird and you can tell she hasn't a brain in her head.

Back stage showbiz and chuck E's have a very distinctive smell that I miss, but most would find disturbing. A cross between machine grease and stale vomit.
