The Rock Turned into a Scorpion?? | The Mummy Returns Reaction | "Here We Go Again" 

Hey everyone thanks for watching! Just to clarify as I see some of you didn’t get what I was saying with the line “that’s what happens when you make a deal with the devil.” I wasn’t calling Anubis the devil I was just using the saying they everyone uses when someone tried to make a deal with something in order to gain power or victory… it’s just a saying… not to be taken literally…

Anubis isn’t the devil. He’s more like a guardian of the dead/underworld. He’s almost a neutral character in some myths.

If you think about it, if Anaksunamun had not run away and helped Imothep, they probably would have lived. In my opinion, this became a test by Anubis if they are worthy to live again. The Scorpion King and Anubis' army were just the motivators to set everything in motion. If they truly loved and were ready to die for each other, they could have lived. They may not have ruled the world, but they would have lived together and would have a chance to be happy. And with their historic knowledge, they could have become rich, even if his cult was gone. At least that's my interpretation. But yes, a fun movie. BTW, I can understand that guys desire to kill Alex. I don't condone it, but I understand it. The poor guy had to be with this irritating boy for a whole week, from which we only saw a glimpse. The only thing I don't like in these movies is the representation of mythology. Anubis was god of embalming, the Judge and the Protector of the dead. If you were worthy, ou were allowed to enter the afterworld. If not he fed your soul to Ammit. There were several deities in ancient Egypt better suited to be the bad guys, but we can't have our entertainment be too complicated, right?

I love the delivery of that line from Rachel Weisz "Why don't you pick on somebody your own size?" Sounded badass with a hint of vindictiveness. CGI Dwayne Johnson with a scorpion body is iffy, for sure. They could have had him as a full human acting like the ancient Medjai. Also, you can't help but feel sad for Imhotep when he gets betrayed by the woman he loves. A lot of us can relate to that heartbreak (myself included). Oh, and Rick had nothing to fear from that snake. Evy kicked a kingsnake in her husband's direction. Its coloration allows it to mimic a coral snake, which is venomous. The way to tell the difference is by the orientation of the colored bands. "Red near black, venom lack (kingsnake). Red near yellow, kill a fellow (coral snake)."

I love the little snippets of Afrikaans Arnold Vosloo snuck into this whilst playing Imhotep. Makes us South Africans chuckle. He says "waarom?" when the Hafez asks him to save him from the Scorpion king - waarom means why? And he says "NEE!!" when Rick stops the spear of Osiris that he threw hitting the Scorpion King. Nee means no. 😀

John Hannah suggested that the tub he was to hide in be filled with water and bubbles. He didn't complain when this led him to slip and injure his knee, as he knew he only had himself to blame. You'll notice that four mummies chased the bus, but only three were taken out on screen. They filmed a jump scare with the fourth, but felt the audience would think the scene ran too long.

The CGI was so laughable, the Corridor Crew did an episode where they digitally rendered the Rock's face onto the Scorpion King. And the results are stellar.

This was followed up by an animated series, a third film and the Scorpion King franchise. Anubis is the Egyptian god of the Underworld, brother to Ra, god of the skies. For more epic fantasy films, you should check out Gods of Egypt, Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans

He wanted that chest because it was jeweled and more then likely worth a fortune. Did you really not notice how shiny it was? Once again an epic adventure that ends with a little spoils.

36:39 i honestly do feel bad for him in that part, the way how he has tears in his eyes as he saw the woman he loved so much abandoning him for dead is just sad and then he accepts death. I know he was a villain but i can't help but feel bad for him, he just wanted to do be with his so called loved. But hey, at least she got what she deserved by getting killed by beetles

It took me a while to realize Scorpion King is a part of the Mummy trilogy. So it's like a spin-off movie connected to this universe

Yes, cringey CGI, but I still absolutely adore this movie... The cast worked so well together. Ooh ooh ooh! If you want more Brendan Frasier I recommend George of the Jungle. Cheesy fun movie, but I LOVED it as a kid.

I used to rewind the fighting scene between eve and the other girl in my room and do it then break my neck a lot. But it was amazing seeing powerful women and so I wanted to do it.

Alex looks "mildly concerned" at his mum dying in front of him. In the real world, a kid would be having hysterics 🙄Put this down to certificate issues again and not poor direction 😀

Yeah, Alex is pretty good at building sandcastles, but why the hell doesn't he just WRITE where they are going instead? Then again, if I was that good at building sandcastles, I'd probably feel like showing it off as well.

Anubis is not the devil just because he's the god of the dead doesn't mean he's evil The closest to devil in Egyptian lore is the god Set/Seth or the demon Apophis.

It seems to me that even in the year in which the film was released, it was cringy to watch the semi-CGI Rock.

0:41 It is really annoying when people completely fail to understand what constitutes a spoiler. A spoiler in media is a piece of information that gives away relevant information of the plot that is suited to ruin the fun of watching the movie. Any character appearances that already happen in the exposition of the plot therefore can never be spoilers. That is not how that works. Now, if you saw the CGI-monstrosity before watching the movie I would still fight you over the relevance to the plot. Yes, at that point it is debatable if Imhotep would still want the power if it turns him into such a creature... but that motif is never explored.
