The Rockwell 6S...the most versatile razor ever? 

My Rockwell 6S is my favorite razor for a smooth BBS shave!!

I just tried plate 2/4 with a new Feather blade and I was pleasantly surprised how smooth it went. My first use of a Feather, wet shaving 4 years. So new rule of thumb, the milder the razor, the sharper the blade and vice versa!

Very nice shave sir. My Rockwell 6C is the razor that I keep going back to. Great razor and very efficient.

3 is my daily morning shave plate and 2 my daily evening plate. My shifts determine which one. On realising how mild plate 1 was, I tried a new Feather in it, and it was a great way to remind me not to force the issue because as you demonstrated here, it still does a job.

I own many razors ranging from low to high end and the Rockwell is my favorite as well.

The Gillette Nacet never fails when using the Rockwell R1 base plate, because, Kevy Scottish stubble kept on singing out LOUD! throughout the whole shave.

You're getting a better angle then me, as on plate 1, like you said, I couldn't get any shave action at all. I'll have to try it again. I like to use the 4/2 - four for the first two passes and two for AGT and pickups. It's a great razor!

Well done. I hope this session influences others to consider the 6S for daily shaves. The Nacet remains one of my favorite blades. I haven't tried the aloe version of Cella. The more I see it, the more I'm intrigued. That being said, I an often surprised at how many well-established shavers are yet to try the classic Cella. I can't tell you how often I've placed the 1kg brick of Cella in my cart; only to not commit at the last minute. I hope more and more realize it is THAT good; and remained so for 121 years. Hi Kevy. I love my 6S. Have bought and sold many razors since acquiring the it, but the 6S will forever remain in my den. Everytime I go back to it I always wonder why I bother with anything else ... Talk about versatility ... This past summer, after a day of fishing with no sunscreen , ended up with a really bad sunburnt face. I wanted to shave the next day ... R1 plate to the rescue. End result was a very smooth painless shave. Thought to myself wow, this razor is superb ... don't think I could have done that with any other razor I owned. Rockwell 6s is perfect in every way. I love my 6C. Never had a bad shave. The price makes it a steal. I little more inconvenient to change plates but it is more durable.

I love my 6C on plate 6 with an Israeli persona blade. Currently on a tub of declaration grooming’s yuzu rose patchouli (milksteak) - phenomenal shave every time.

I often shave with my 6S on R2 (R4 is my favourite). And I find it much better than my Feather ASD2.

Nicely done Kevy💈💈 Cella has always been a good cream, not sure why more guys don't use it. Maybe it's the scent of almonds, this one will take care of that. The good ol' Rockwell 6xxxxxxx, S/C, Ti, plastic, wood,, doesn't matter, great razor.. Great video and comments, thanks. Stay safe and...Enjoy!

I always use plate number 5 on my 6s. On daily shave.May give plate number 3 a go.Never tried aloe cella.I use D R Harris Almond cream.I think because the razor is so good a derby blade works well enough.No need for a sharp feather blade.Hope you can do some top 5 or top 10 videos soon.👍

I used the #1 plate to learn the correct angle to hold the razor, nine passes to achieve a BBS shave with absolutely no irritation on my sensitive skin. Currently using the #4 plate, I don't really need that aggressive of a shave for a BBS shave.

Think this is definitely a case of YMMV! After watching this I decided to try the same although I was using a first use feather blade, it did nothing, just slid straight over the hair. I then went up to plate 2 and got the exact results you did here, beautiful shave but super mild and lots of buffing needed. We all are guilty of searching for the answer, the recipie for perfect shaves and we forget that the products we use have manufacturing tolerances, the head, the baseplate, the blade all have tolerances that when you stack up could mean that someone’s plate 3 combo could equate so somebody else’s plate 1.

Levy….totally agree with you. The Rockwell 6S is simply the finest razor I have ever shaved with. My others are a 6C, T2, and Gillette Slim.

Alright; I accept your challenge, good sir! I'm going to try using my Rockwell (chrome) with the R2 plate this week for my daily shaves and let you know how it goes.

What's up Kevy Rockwell is undoubtedly one of the best safety razors on the market, many consider it the only daily driver without a doubt, rarely do I see you so comfortable I think the Rockwell is your favorite as for me it is my Mühle R41.

I use plate 5 or 6, but I might try this with a Feather at some point.... at least for a pass. Thanks for sharing!

I wasn't going to shave today. But halfway through the video I decided to give it a go. I only own one razor, the Rockwell 6s. So plate R1 it is (Nacet 3rd use). The shave was just okay. The R3 plate is my go to -- much better shaves. What prompted me to post a comment is the soap I used, Stirling Spice. I have an ounce sample sitting around and was never drawn to use it, the fragrance was just, eh. Anyway, I lathered it up and was surprised how good it smelled. I paired it with Old Spice aftershave and wow. It turned an okay shave into a much better experience. I'm looking forward to using the soap again tomorrow and will try it with plate R2 (Nacet 4th use).

Great shave. After watching this video, I’m thinking about getting the Cella Blue cream. The Yaqi brush looks sexy especially with the dice at the bottom. Because of my coarse hair, I prefer a sharper blade on a medium aggressive razor to slice off the stubble in no time

Need to try Cella Blue, I use the red one which is one my faves. Definitely need to give that pre shave a go! :)

A dial adjustable doesn't require a changing of plates mid-shave. For this reason I don't own the 6S but rather the Model T.

I like the 6s with a Shark blade on setting 5 . comfortable shave 🪒

Fantastic shave Kevy, I've tried Cella's shaving cream (comes in a tube) and quite frankly it was absolutely disappointing. It was too runny and couldn't whip it into no lather whatsoever. I was damn close to tossing it into the bin but decided to use it as "pre-shave." It lasted like 3 months and finally finished it. But I can't say I would buy it again. A shame really because the scent is formidable!

Used my 6c on plates 1 and 3 today for a head and face shave. 2nd use Gillette Nacet blade, proraso white pre, cream and post cream. Great feel and bbs shave.

Nice shave Kevy. Always enjoying watching it. R1 shaves. . But BBS? Even with R2 that doesn't work for me. R3 ... Depends.... So it really starts from R4. If i want a really mild Shave i use R3 and R2. Anyway, Nice Razor! Cella blue? I would say green 😂😂😂

I wonder how the 6S with the R1 plate compares to the ASD2? The Feather is a very mild razor. And it is my daily driver. When I have more than two days growth I prefer to use a more aggressive razor, at least for the first pass. Kind of like you have said about the S6.

Great shave Kevy. My Gillette Slim Adjustable fulfills all of my needs. I got to stick with the old gear myself. You do a good job with the 6S though.

Nice video. Maybe that viewer wants to buy the cheap razor that comes w heads 1/3. I like 4 but 5 is too rough...Maybe they should let the buyer chose one head for the cheap price.....2/4 for me. I have used plate 2 / feather combo for numerous headshaves in the past. After viewing this vid I loaded a nacet(2) on the 2 plate for a face shave with one days growth. Too much buffing and not as close as like. Not worth trying a r1 for me. I’ll stick to the r4 for my daily driver, even with my patchy beard. Another great video though.

I did try my 6C on plate#1 when I first received the razor but found it hard to keep the head clean. I'm quite happy to shave on plate#2 though, I will try it again on plate#1 with a sharp blade like Nacet or Perma-Sharp or Feather (all measured as sharp).

Plate #1 is too mild for me too. I love my Rockwell 6S & my Bronze Karve. You bring up a point. Since you shave every day, do you think the lower # plates are meant for every day shaving?

Nice shave! Have you tried Barbon aftershave from Hungary? Personally I find it better than Proraso. It has more menthol in it and it is just wonderful. It is also cheaper than Proraso and has better ingredients. The Barbon shave cream is not good so do not bother buying it but the aftershave is top. Cheers!

Nice shave, Kevy! That Cella " 'all-o, Vera" looks pretty good. Is it a softer cream consistency or similar to the red? I must be in the minority here, I sold my Rockwell 6S. I just didn't reach for it very often. It always felt a little clunky to me. Oh, well, I believe that the new owner appreciates it better than I ever did. Cheers! -Rob

Oh mate, don't cry, the menthol was getting to you.... I'd say the Homelike Start is a tad more versatile than the Rockwell solely because it has the open comb option with the plates and some say the mild plate on the Start is also too mild to be useful, but the Rockwell has the advantage of being more widely available. Hello Kevy I see a big difference in razor exposure on your Rockwell 6s razor on plate number 1 I have the same razor but in mine the razor blade display on plate number 2 looks like yours on plate number 1 In my plate number 1 there is a much smaller gap between the plate and the razor blade ... Which is a pity, because that's why plate number one is almost useless

I just ordered... TOBS St James Shave Stick Mikes natural barbershop Nivia ultra hydration AS Balm Since I started TWS always wanted to try Mike natural. Never got around to trying any Nivea products... every time I went to Walgreens or CVS they somehow never had it. And I have two samples of Jermyn street and St James but didn’t know which one to get so I seen the St James shave Stick so I figured why not get it.
