Ulf made this beautiful bamboo rod for Anders and it seems that it works perfectly. Head over to www.bamboorods.se/ if you like to find out more about the rod maker.
There are many anglers who are obsessed with their gear. And many of them end up liking the tools more than the fishing itself. But in this video, I can feel the pride of a person who loves not only fishing but also the river itself and the time spent in nature before that. That's what tools are for, right? Thanks for the great video. From a tenkara guy in Japan.
@@badman5007 I have no intention of ridiculing someone's fishing style. I also know that tools bring more interest and joy to the world. But I arrived at "Tenkara", which was stripped of it as much as possible. That's it. May each other continue to have wonderful fishing days.
50 years ago my first job was to work for a fishing shop. One of the many skills that I was taught was to make cane fly rods. Not from scratch like this video but using cane supplied to the shop I and my colleagues made some beautiful rods. Thanks for the memories. I still use one of those rods along with new carbon rods. Cheers from lockdown and waiting for the season to commence again.
One of the best fly fishing videos I've seen. Great depiction of the spirituality one can only feel knee deep in a trout stream. What a beautiful looking rod.
An old Navy tug master used to make the most sought after flies in New England. It was a hobby for him. They were by no means cheap to buy but it took him a long time to make. I can not imagine how much time it took to make that rod but it sure looks special. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful video, beautiful craftsmanship, beautiful waters, beautiful trout, and beautiful people. Once again, a video that will be watched over and over again. Well done, and thank you.
This was beautiful! Showing the craftsmanship and the work it take. Then showing where the work ended up and how much better it made someones life. 👏👏👏
Absolutely Gorgeous film,Amazing Rod Maker, and it is a spiritual moment when playing/praying in the creeks some of us call Church. You captured it enough that I'm feeling inspired. Thank You...
Not interested in bamboo rods, but your film made me watch it and reflect about the proud craftmanship, regarding construction and building of the bamboo rod. By making someone like me that not is interested at all of a subject continue watching and enjoying the whole film has to mean something. Amazing film... superb work of art...
Oh my god! Your films are are works of fine art. They begin to capture the art of fly fishing that is known only to actual fly fishermen. Thank you from Montana!
This is truly one of my favorites. I enjoy the way you gather all the aspects of the art (fly fishing) and craftsmanship (the rod) drawing them together to create a spectacular short film. it is my most played.
this video epitomizes fly fishing ,and why it attracts me, soft quiet mornings ,not the ear damaging roar of a bass boat or stink bait of catfishing ,nothing wrong with either one BUT aint my style
I like both styles. Both entertain me. I prefer fly fishing for Bass, Bleugill and Trout, but for bigger species like salmon and Pike and walleye, i prefer spinning tackle.
Thanks. Good to hear you like the video :) Many river trout are actually quite long and thin like this one, compared to lake living brown trout that feed more on fish. That's my experience anyway. Cheers
Agree with sentiment below. Just a beautiful depiction of craftsmanship taken stream side for the catch and release of a stunning brown. So refreshing in today's world of high modulus polymer coupled with hard rock. Thanks!!
I need to know what's up with the thermos and the wooden spoon looking thing, Is that coffee, or is it soup? You just couldn't get by with that on my river. I mean, the fish would talk...
Well it's coffee for sure. We drink a lot of that in Sweden :) And the wooden thing is a cup made up north in Sweden by the sami people. Tastes even better in that kind of thing. Cheers
@@CarpeDiemFlyfishing Well now that you put it that way, I must have one! Seriously, I was joking, and I loved the video. In fact, I love this channel!
in the area where I live also has become a habit of using a fishing rod from bamboo, but it's just too simple without so many manufacturing processes like your fishing rod, good job friends👍🏻
Vilken underbar liten film. Ingenting går upp mot att gå och kasta med Splitcane och torrfluga längs med en skogså i början av sommaren. Nu längtar jag ännu mer. Tack!
Fantastic video. My favourite childhood memories are being 7-10 years old and being up at the crack of Dawn, fishing for trout on a river similar to this one.
I absolutely love this video! As a maker myself it really captures the feelings and thoughts I have while working a strip on the forms or wrapping the guides. Then to take that new bamboo rod out to your favorite still water to see if it will perform the way you envisioned it would... You just get in a "zone" and the rest of the world falls away and time seems to just stop. Thank you for sharing this video.
