If that watch was gifted from your mum, its not just a watch anymore, its a holly grail piece. Congratulations. Hope I could buy one. That watch is beautiful.
What a beautiful story - hope your mother gets to see this video! Happened to drop by this video during my hunt for the 34mm OP - and I am (unexpectedly) leaving with warm heart and strong determination haha. We can all see great things lie ahead of you and your family! Cheers to you
I've been through several different watches/Rolexes, and currently own a 36mm Explorer, but I can't get the 34mm OP (in blue, or black) out of my mind. Definitely my next watch! Great video
Great fit, for sure, and what a classy, timeless piece to enjoy. And such a special connotation, too; love that. I've been wanting one of those discontinued colorful OP36s from a few years back, but so spendy, oof. Ha, anyway. Thanks for sharing! :)
You have a beautiful, loving family. You are rich. Great Rolex and story behind it. It definitely fits your wrist perfectly. Wear it with both pride and humility. I believe you already do. My favorite watch right now is a Hamilton Khaki Field that I saved up for and purchased for my birthday a few years ago. The watch hobby is fun. It’s cool to see your passion for it, too. Keep enjoying it and chasing your dreams.
Thanks! I love the same watch design in 5 different sizes. I hate how Omega tries to do the same with the Aqua Terra, but each time it gets smaller they make the design more feminine which is stupid imo
That was a very mature move to sell your first Rolex to help out your mom. In the end, watches are just things. Thanks for sharing your story! Also, I’m also a fan of smaller cases and I have an average wrist of 7.25 inches. I look at the 34mm OP’s as the compact version of a 36mm for enthusiasts with smaller wrist sizes haha. Although, I’m not opposed to wearing a 34mm myself 😬
I agree. I can wear 36-40mm just fine, but long term I always find my way back to 34mm, just the most comfortable for me. Always good to hear from you Chris, thanks for stopping by!
Good Story, Nice watch. Looks good on you. Take one link out of the bracelet from the 6 o clock side and put it in the 12 o clock bracelet. The clasp will sit better 👍
Funny story I tried that already but I found it to be more comfortable the way it is. I do understand that it makes the watch wear closer to me though. Thanks for watching :)
Love your watch. I've gone from wearing 39mm omega to wanting a 36mm Datejust in silver, to now secretly loving the idea of a 34mm (Maybe white from 2018)... these watches wear so much nicer in smaller size
Perfect size for your wrist... no point in getting an oversized watch. My partner has a 31 green dial OP... she loves it! The OP is pretty understated for a Rolex which I like personally.
@@WatchesCanBeFun Looks awesome! I have a 6 inch wrist and I am very much considering getting this. I have a 32mm Tudor Black Bay which wears well, I don't think a 34 would wear too large. Loved the story behind this piece, wishing you the best!
Gorgeous watch! Great review, too. I’d love a 34mm OP; my wrist is about 6 1/4” so I think that size would work really well. Your mom is awesome! Keep working hard at whatever you do!
That's a amazing story about your life and the best part is your watch is a big part of it ! I'm sure one day you will pass it on to your son or daughter when you are ready to pass the torch!! ⌚👍
I also wear a 34mm OP. I tried a 34 and a 36 on at the AD with intention on the 36mm prior to my visit. The 34mm however was the clear choice once on my wrist. I’ve owned many nice watches in my 49 years of existence. This watch however is the one. I wear it for all occasions, work, hiking, camping, swimming (not sleeping or showering though). My favourite feature are the tiny roman numerals.
@LanningKann That’s awesome man thanks for sharing :) I love the little Roman numerals too. I just went on vacation and when I’m in the hotels I wear my oyster perpetual to sleep, otherwise I keep it in the box at home.
Thank you. Congrats on the weight loss(assuming it’s for good reasons). I think 34-36 looks amazing on a 7-7.5 inch wrist. Definitely give it a shot if you’re able!
You sound like a great young man. Money is good as long as you know that after you’ve cared for your family the ONLY thing it is good for is to help others. GBU & your family
I worn a rolex oyster perpetual 34mm since 2011,the size is in reality perfect for any ocasion, not a blimblim rolex,i can use it in subway, bus and in the street and never feel in danger because its a very discret rolex...i love it
Couldn’t agree more, but honestly I think that makes Rolex’s really cool. Add a date, you get the DateJust, add a bezel you get a Turnograph, add an extra hand you get the GMT Master. Etc. Then there’s the Cellini and idk what happened there.
I’ve been there. I used to wear a 20 chrome f91w to school. The #1 best watch is the one on your wrist, enjoy it. If you truly want a Rolex work hard until you can get one.
That was a very sweet ending. Doing it out of love for your family. Well done. My important watch keeps changing. But originally it has been my square G shock.... currently I'm loving my Omega from 1973 .. please take a look at my Short i made today. I'm hoping to find a long term keeper watch, maybe even OP34
Thanks so much, I’m glad you enjoyed. Your omega is pretty cool and I would love to hear the story behind your watches one day. Especially the G-shock and the IWC
As a 18 year old who is scared of people judging him, I totally get it. The best way to build confidence for me has to been posting. I wouldn’t consider myself very confident though.
My son is 18 and never wears his Rolex submariner out. He wears a Tag Heuer daily and sometimes an Omega Seamaster. He is afraid to get the watch stolen. He is a decent size and avid kickboxer. He also works out regularly and can bench 285 lbs. He still will not wear the Rolex outside.
