The Rolling Stone interview: Chris Martin Disclaimer : I do not own any rights to this video. Original Source (www-rollingstone-com.cdn.ampp...) #coldplay #chrismartin
In context, U2 have released 14 albums (46 years), Aerosmith 15 albums (52 years) … but their career has been twice as long. 20 years with 8 albums, and 2 great songs on each album is exceptional. With over 100 million albums sold worldwide, Coldplay are the most successful band of the 21st century and one of the best-selling music acts of all time.
Terrible interviewer. Incredibly rude and off putting. And he starts out by basically acting like he’s doing a band a favor by listening to their music rather than just the old stuff that he likes. Dude, that’s your job. Bizarre. Chris handled it very graciously.
Yeah. Chris is very humble. I didnt like the interviewer sayin why Chris doesnt roll out albums every now and then. Chris is an artist and art takes time. Some stupid people expect Art to be be like a Household chore which it is not. I love how Colplay makes music. Its takes the listner to just another domain. Just love it
Also, I don’t think all “old” people only listen to the music of their generation. Just like not all “young” people only listen to contemporary music. It’s a very limiting way to think. Incomprehensible if he really is the “owner” of Rolling Stone as someone mentioned.
Don’t agree with this. If anything he’s playing devils advocate and encouraging Chris to really express his intentions. Chris Martin doesn’t need someone to sit there and compliment him all day, he’s got enough of that.
whenever chris asks 'does that make any sense?' or 'do you understand what I mean?' after he finishes talking, yes chris, we do understand and it does make sense to your true fans who are following you since so long. The interviewer might not get it but I nodded yes in your every sentence. 🤍
Seriously! This interviewer was so awkward. It seemed like he wasn’t used to interviewing someone as genuinely sincere as Chris is, and it’s like he didn’t know how to take it. Chris is usually able to get a chuckle out of interviewers too and create a very relaxed atmosphere but this interviewer just could not get in sync. Looking at his notepad a lot, etc. Chris came across as the professional, this interviewer seemed like he couldn’t keep up. Questions sort of all over the place too. Gotta love Chris.
exactly, I felt the same... I wish more interviews were done by fans who understand. Plus we'd get some more info because they'd ask original questions not the same ones for 20 years!
Chris is so humble. I really feel very identified with him and with his way of seeing things, he is so genuine, and I think he is a perfect mix from which tremendous masterpieces are born.
Chris Martin always gives the impression to be very thoughtful, generous and open. I admire him for being so kind, especially in the times we have right now. I think that the people who are able to show this level of kindness and humility are often the ones who have so much talent and did put so much in their achievements that they do not have to prove anything to anyone. That he also lets us see some of his vulnerability is also very endearing and makes him very likable and relatable. I have lost two very dear and special people and feel that my grief made me even more open to other people who have come through any other crisis. I feel maybe his sensibility and warmth (in German it is "warmheartedness") and the events that happened to him through his life made him so very empathetic.
I adore Chris. In so many ways the Interviewer tries to put him & the band into this reality and to create the pressure of:"If everyone are like that, so you guys should be." ... which is creating wrongness, when there is no right or wrong, just difference...I love how Chris is talking from his heart, without bariers, just kindness and listening his knowing, total oneness & so much to learn.... that's why you guys are beyond everything. So much love & gratitude for you choosing to go beyond what you should be and tapping into your uniqueness. 💜 Blessings 🙏 btw. it is beautiful to hear Chris being vulnerable.
@@matthewpoole2700 I don't think Chris is saying he didn't like the album. He's saying the album didn't feel finished for him. And that's ok. It's a bit of a bookshelf with just one bookend for him. A story with a "To be continued..."
No wonder I love Chris Martin , there should be more people in the world like him. As for Rolling stone bagging 'Yellow' , well most Coldplay fans LOVE IT. Thanks Chris Martin for being you.🧡💛💚💙💜
Nontheless what Chris said is quite insightful, especially on his early life. I enjoyed them do much. But, yeah, there is some unpleasant stuff asked by the interviewer.
LOL “low rate of productivity” releasing 8 incredible albums in 20 years? I can’t think of many other bands that have done what they’ve done in terms of the success of their albums. Their albums aren’t just music - they’re universes that the band creates.
they have actually released 9 studio albums. Altho album number 7 and 9 werent quite so great, not my cuppa tea anyway. Im proud to say ive been a massive fan of theirs since the first time i heard them in late 1999.
Wow fantastic interview this kind of questions that i really like to know my favorite artist to talk and say something about their life. Best ever Chris Martin interview ❤ thank you for uploading
Coldplay are brilliant they don’t always get it right ,hey who does . All l can say is when you listen to music and how the music makes you feel is everything l went to London Wembley Stadium to the 2022 tour and blown away best concert lve ever been to
“Low rate of productivity” you can notice how chris and coldplay focus on the feelings, making feel love, happiness, throught their songs, while other just focus on making more songs, selling more albums, making more money… You can see the difference between both personalities, Chris is a happy person trying to transmit happiness while the other one is just focus on the ego and being more succesfull, more famous, and so on……
Never knew I had a similar experience as Chris. In my youth as a young woman other classmates kept believing in a bullying fashion that I was a lesbian simply because in High School my Father was trying to be cheap and forced my sibling and I into yardwork labor prior to school. We rarely had to opportunity to change our clothes before school. We often wore big, masculine shirts with sleeves for the job and other students kept shouting at me that I must be gay. I was taught not to say anything when folks jeer so I didn't... and the chants caused me to fall into a deep depression. Never had any interest in other females, I knew in my heart of hearts I wasn't gay. It was only until I went to university, and dressed more feminine, I felt sorta like myself. I rekindled my friendship with a boy pal from Highschool then we got married years later. I'm still shaken from the taunting I recieved.... I can't imagine how it feels to be truly in the queer community though I hope it's better for individuals now. It's awesome Chris embraced that... Coldplay used to be bullied with films like "40 year old Virgin" saying to the audience, 'you're gay if you like Coldplay' and now with their 9th album they wrote, "People of the Pride". It's a pretty clever way to improve on past hurts in my opinion. To use mockery now to empower the people in that group. Great interview, I had no idea Chris and I had that connection of being accused of being attracted to the same sex when in actuality that wasn't the case.
The interviewer is a legend. Jann S.Wenner is the founder of the Rolling Stone Magazine. And i think he is honest about beeing 73 years old and not knowing much about Coldplay. But he interviewed the biggest Stars of Rock and Soul , so we know now : Chris Martin and Coldplay are one of the biggest Stars in the Musicscene.
Just come across this, I’m an album guy and not singles, coldplay music is forever, it isn’t disposable like most music, Everyday life is just a special album, every album they have done has been special.
"There's an anger in you"??? Oh my gosh, thank goodness Chris spoke up for himself. Anger? Couldn't the guy have said "a fire in you" that would have been a compliment. "Fire" = a motivating drive in your soul. Chris is so humble. I recently fulfilled something on my bucket list. Flew from the coast of SC to LA to hear them at the Rose Bowl 🌹 sweet memories forever
Yellow is still a raw track that was perfect when it was first played, as it still is, it was the birth of a band with equal appeal, uniqness, and musicality as the beatles or the rolling stones fronted by an intelligent, erudite guy who doesn't have the ego that comes with the job, yet remains a strong front man. Music appeal globally is extraordinary....
May this interviewer improve as he is terrible in this one with Chris.Chris is a fantastic role model for people. To have a passion for music and to work so hard giving us the very best songs plus fantastic performances. Thank you so very much. Kindest regards.
I think Chris is a true artist and is devoted to his artistic heart. It is so rare and so beautiful. I hope he can preserve it but so far he has. We are all so grateful. I am a little bothered by some interviewers that are quizically looking into the petrie dish. I wonder if its like what Van Gogh experienced.
Their Everday Life album is a masterpiece. Coloratura off MOTS is a masterpiece..All their albums have several brilliant songs and make you feel deeply Extremely rare for an artist. Chris is a musical genius and lovely soul.
Chris is wonderful, always has something to say that is worth listening to and is very humble with it - This interviewer is terrible...rude, interrupts and assumes the answers to questions before Chris is even given the chance to answer....ask a question and let the man speak ffs
why are the people who interview these big musicians always those who know nothing about them and are indifferent? shouldnt the super fans that actually give a shit be in that seat?
Michael Jackson used to say the same thing when asked where or how he writes/creates music - saying it comes naturally and that he's only being used to allow that gift to make its way through. Such a beautiful thing! ✨
24:05. You are correct Chris. God is everything and everything is God because God created everything. John 1: 3kjv "All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made". Ps. 82:6. "Ye are gods. And all of you children of the most high" There's so much in the bible to tell us that God is in everything, everyone and everywhere. Religion most times complicates the simplicity of this understanding but when you get the revelation, like Chris does, it's liberating. And the revelation doesn't always come from within a church building. God speaks with anything and everything. Living and non-living. So yes, Chris, you are correct.
Probably because he's the founder and owner of Rolling Stones. Interviewing is not his role. Not sure why he didn't get his staff to cover it, unless it's because Chris wanted him.
He s such an adorable person... I could listen to him for hours!! By the way, I don't get why boarding schools are such a popular tradition in Britain but it always occured to me this is such a cruel thing for kids 😢
Por qué los ingleses son tan cálidos y centrados? Down to earth. Veo lo mismo en Harry Styles. Claro que Liam y Noel Galager son unos patanazos. Simplemente traen otro chip. Una masculinidad más humana y son seres compasivos. Amo
One of these people is a hugely respected writer and performer, with multiple credits to his name; the other is a journalist. I don’t think that Chris needs any defence; I suspect that he doesn’t either…
@@jfshep94 And he didn't really listen. It's like his extensive knowledge about the music industry has formed a crust around him, precluding him from hearing what Chris is bringing. Chris is too big for this interview.
The thing about gay thing part - Chris is a Pisces and naturally Pisces has a feminine energy inside them so for the man, it can be weird to find masculine energy within themselves, specially in this world how man is perceived by others and how "should" act in certain situations. If any Pisces man understand own energy and accept as it is, will never sabotage himself regardless of who is around. Acceptance of your own energy is the key and Pisces are caring kindness beings - just accept it!
@@Rollingstone2009 But this interview doesn't reach into the gist of who Chris is. The questions seem to be nuts and bolts, and there is something about how the interviewer receives Chris's responses, as though he has a presumption about what the response might be and misses the reality, the wholeness of what Chris says.
