If you can find it, The Kinks Mono Collection is a great set as well! I thankfully got it for $180 back in 2016, but it's quite a bit more now.

I carefully took off the external paper showing the contents of the box set and stuck it on the inside of the front flap. This makes it easy to see when you open the box without risking damage while placing back on my shelf. That is nuts that you got No. 1/10,000 - wow!

I always find it fascinating to see the US versions of records because I'm so used to the labels that we got here in England it's really cool to see that the labels are completely different over in the US since we got the rolling stones records released on Decca and you guys got it on London (I think it is still apart of Decca but the US branch not 100% on that fact)

It's not limited to 10.000 copies. Mine is 11562/12300 Maybe it's copie number has been expanded, I also got the better innersleeves. Not just plain thick paper but paper with anti static plastics inside

I got this LP set cheaper from a Boxing Day sale, for around $407 CAN. total. It will be a nice companion to my Rolling Stones' "Studio Albums 1971 - 2016" LP box set, which I also got for a great deal, $180 US + shipping/ duty, about $280 CAN. I hadn't got back into vinyl yet, when the 2016 LP set was released, so I'm glad to get another shot at this box set.

Now that the Beatles and the Stones have mono boxes, I can't help but want a mono box for my #1 favorite band, The Beach Boys. Might not be totally necessary because, unless I'm wrong, the remasters on vinyl are already in both stereo and mono. I know that's the case with the CDs, anyway. But I would still like a nice, shiny box with all of them there in one place, Surfin' Safari (1962) through Wild Honey (1967). Everything from Friends (1968) onward are only in stereo.

A great box set for one of the most recognizable bands of all time! I love listening to the Stones in mono when they were in their London years until "Aftermath". At that point and especially on albums like "Beggars Banquet", I feel like mono doesn't do them that much justice because there is so much going on instrumentally. In the end, it's just a matter of how you mix it properly and most of the times, like on Beatles songs, it goes to extremes of the left or right ear.

Great video as always. I don't want to spoil the party, but my guess is that all promo copies have the #1. Also Melissa received a promotional copy, which she showed on her RU-vid channel and it is also the #1. But nevertheless it is great to get this item for free. I will not purchase it, I have a German "The Rolling Stones Story " from 1980 in absolute mint condition including all albums released in Germany between 1964 and 1969 including the both live albums. That are sufficient Stones for me. But the reissue on colored vinyl looks so great 👍

I don't trust the numbering system as it may be a ploy to get consumers to believe they are getting limited copies. Who knows if it's really 10,000 sets, maybe 20,000 since you and Melinda both received same number 1.

I have an OG 1967 Mono pressing of Her Majesty’s Satanic Service that I lucked into for $1.00 at a friend’s guitar store (which was a casualty of COVID-19) about a decade ago now, but the cover was literally falling apart and the vinyl itself needed serious cleaning. I got it cleaned up enough to get a full pass to my laptop.

Awesome unboxing and review Eric, I just saw your video earlier today and this set looks amazing. I have the CD set already so I think I will pass on this since I have other stuff on my wishlist that I want more. Still looks like a fun set with all the different colors and just a little thing to point out, I think Satanic Majesties Request in the color vinyl box had the zoomed in picture fixed because in the 2016 black vinyl version (And cd version) the cover image looks like it was zoomed in.

At about $26.50 per album in this box set it is a really great deal! And as another person has already mentioned this will only go up in value! Thinking of getting another one just for that reason!

It's a terrible deal. I paid under $3.00 for most of the first releasees of these LPs. And the vinyl was made obsolete with the advent of CDs. But -- there's a sucker born every minute.

@@rodgerjohnson733 I grew up with records in the home -- music -- from earliest memories. First it was 78s. Then it was vinyl 45s. Then it was vinyl 45s and LPs. I left all that behind -- the hassle and DISTORTION -- with the advent of CDs. Now all that vinyl occupies space put to better use otherwise. Anyone who is buying vinyl today at any price is the sucker. THAT is none-too-common sense.

UMMM.... other RU-vid video posters are showing they received # 1, plus the weight is coming in lower, maybe you received a sub quality edition noting the pealing back cover label on the box in the edition, also you can pick it up on the ABCO website for 374$ , savings don't overpay on Amazon

Just seems somewhat odd to use #1 multiple times for promotional purposes. A promo is usually stamped a promo in numerous ways, or if they’re going to be numbered copies, they’re not numbered at all. Even a hole punch or corner cut like certain promos used to have. They’re obviously not WLP’s too. I’ve never seen promotional copies have the same number, but I could of course be incorrect. 👍🎶😊

If you have noticed any other reviews of this boxed set, there appears to be two different versions of the Their Satanic Majesties Request LP. One is cropped, one is not. The cropped versions leave out both Paul and Ringo. You have what I would call a good version, Others may not have. Why is this? I will be curious which version I get once it arrives.

The Beatles are my favourite band, but honestly, when it comes to singles, I might prefer the Stones overall. Also, I think the Brian Jones era of the Stones had a way cooler look than The Beatles. If I wasn't a broke college student, I would totally get this box-set. Looks like great value for the money you're spending.

A shame they didn't use poly-lined sleeves. Of course, a good collector will replace all the sleeves with archival ones, but all that weight moving around in rough paper isn't cool.

Does anyone know a good order to listen to the early material? Just picked up the box and haven’t gotten into early stuff but the UK/US dupes are confusing and I’d rather not hear the same stuff over and over if that makes sense

I’d say just listen to the UK albums, “The Rolling Stones,” “The Rolling Stones No. 2,” “Out Of Our Heads” (the one without the black and white cover), “Aftermath” (the one with the purple cover), “Between The Buttons,” and then the albums sync up. I know a lot of people prefer the US albums, but I think that by listening to the UK albums (which are what the band officially released), you can hear the Stones mature as musicians.

As of 1/27/24 the price on Amazon is $289.18. To get the best listening experience, this set should be played with a mono stylus.

You're looking at the 2016 version being sold by a third party reseller. That's over £2,500 dollars. The reprinted coloured version is no where near that price. It's just over 400 dollars on amazon.

Maybe not better, but different. Some of the mono tracks have more "punch" to them. Some group's songs even have exclusive mono overdubs not on the stereo mixes. But, I don't think that happens much with The Rolling Stones' '60's catalogue. Also, most singles until late 1968 were only available in mono. So, you would need this set to get some of the original mono mixes of the hit singles. There is a difference.

These albums were originally recorded in mono and the stereo mixes were afterthoughts, done usually by a less experienced studio worker with the band and producer not present.

Orange faces on the covers. Awful! 44 page soft back book with photos and no recording info. Photos that don’t show years 1964-1969. No 3D or inner for Satanic, No poster for Let It Bleed. Coloured vinyl for kids. Who cares! Very poor for the money being asked for this box. Abkco go away and produce something worthy of ‘The Greatest Rock n Roll Band In The World!’

That is not the price for this boxset. You are looking at a 3rd party seller selling the 2016 version. You can't actually buy this coloured version on amazon anymore. The cost is in the region of £350. Look at Hmv. It is not £1,500. I can assure you of that.
