That was a very entertaining version of that song, but the studio version is even better because it included an amazing choir. The Stones were looking for a choir to accompany them and said, why don't we get the best one in England? They did and you can hear the London Bach Choir on the studio version. The way they just keep going higher and higher at the end is dazzling. You should give it a listen.
I never liked the freaking choir, live is better always when we're speaking of rock and roll... whoever says the opposite doesn't knows what it's all about
Ah, well... This is a nice performance, but... I guess I'm in the minority, as I hear the studio version of this panned in comments all the time. But, I spent my school years in school choruses, and went on to major in Music Education for voices. I have always loved the choir on the studio version of this song. It's what makes it for me.
I do like the studio better as well. I feel reactors should always do studio first... then live if they like it enough. Remember all of us first heard studio... loved it... then went to go see it live. Only a few bands pull off live as good or better than studio.... Eagles, Seger, America, Floyd.... to name a few.
@@RickWright66 I'm with you on always doing studio before live. And I would add Yes to your list of musicians who can pull off live performances as good as the studio performance. That said, for me Bob Segar's live performance of Turn the Page is the exception which proves the rule. I truly don't think the studio of that track needs to ever be heard.
John Lennon was there to perform with Eric Clapton, Kieth Richards & Mitch Mitchell as The Dirty Mac playing "Yer Blues" . The Who also performed on the same show they played "A Quick One (While He's Away)".
So sad to hear today (24 August) that Charlie Watts has died. He was 80 and he joined the newly formed Rolling Stones 58 years ago in 1963. A great drummer and of course such an important member of the Stones. RIP Charlie Watts.
The best description of Mick’s moves I’ve ever heard is “a rooster on acid.” 😄 I agree with the others: do the studio version. This was good, but the studio one is unforgettable.
John Lennon played at the show. His band was called The Dirty Mac. Him and Eric Clapton on guitar, Kieth Richards on bass and Mitch Mitchell on drums. He played on the Hendrix albums. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JeFwaWFTGYU.html This shot also features the best performance by The Who when they did A QUICK ONE WHILE HES AWAY. Rumor has it that the stones kept this movie unreleased for 40 years because The Who stole the show.
Wow guys! Listen! This is Rock'n'Roll Circus show. The concert was organized by the Rolling Stones, but other musicians also performed there, such as John Lennon and Eric Clapton. Now you have to listen to the great group that they only formed for this concert: Dirty Mac! Lennon, Clapton, Richards and Mitchel in one band and theirs best song "Yer Blues". Please!
The Rolling Stones, Beatles and The WHO were rivals in a sense, BUT they respected each other and were and are very good friends. Charlie Watts wept at Keith Moon's funeral and Pete Townshend wrote a moving memorial for Charlie Watts.
You guys dropped the ball by playing this live version ☹️. Got to do the original studio version. You are missing a lot of key elements in the band as well as a choir.
john lennon performed there too dirty mac - yer blues(beatles song) lennon clapton mitch mitchell from the jimi hendrix expirience and keith richards on bass👌🏻
Beatles/Stones, Lennon/Jagger - was always a sweet and sour relationship. Lennon said enough about both liking and being critical of the Stones. That's life!
There were no rivals between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones or any other Rocks groups.......They all hung out together!!! When they had time off from touring or recording albums and records!!! they party a lot with each other......The Rolling Stone invented these rivals more selling more magazines....but Circus magazines printed articles of these groups hanging out in clubs and parties with each other and sometimes made appearances in each others concerts!!!!
In remembrance of Charlie Watts I highly suggest a reaction to "Can't You Hear Me Knocking." They all killing it, but those rolling drums are to die for.
Please react to pure reason revolution, u can react to eupnea album and the dark third its their best albums or u can react to these specific songs, silent genesis, ghost and typhoons and the million bright ambassadors of morning
This is from the Stones Rock n Roll Circus, if you really want to check out a performance from this show you need to watch the Who’s “A Quick one”. Phenomenal performance, so good in fact that the Stones kept this show from being released for 30 years because they felt the Who showed them up so much
Great song. You're right, The Stones and The Beatles were friends; it was the media and recording execs who hyped a rivalry. In fact, when The Stones were recording their first studio album, John and Paul came for a visit during one of their sessions. Mick was complaining about not yet finding a song they thought would be a hit, when John and Paul told them they would write a hit song for them. The Stones were skeptical, but a half hour later, the two returned with the lyrics for the song that would become their first hit in England. Mick and the boys were so inspired that they said if their friends could write songs, they could write songs too. And the hits poured in.
Love this song. And really love the live version probably more than the studio. Would love to see you guys react to Edwyn Collins A Girl Like You, no one has reacted to it and it’s a great song
I just love the way you guys are enjoying the pioneering music of the 60s and early 70s, thank you for reacting to the music of my adolescent. My request is for Yes, Awaken Live 1977 tour, can’t wait for your reaction to this masterpiece epic.
Last time we saw the Stones live, about 6 years ago, this was my 13-year-old daughter's favorite. Of course, even live now they have a full choir doing the back up vocals and the ending for this. It's pretty amazing live.
Ok boys,,this was from there Rock And Roll Circus.....the Who literally blew everybody away.....you gotta play the Who's A Quick One .........best 7 minutes you will ever hear !!!
Ooh, this is the Rock and Roll Circus live version! I love this, and I love the studio version with that choir! Have you guys never heard the song/phrase “Moves Like Jagger?” There’s a reason for that, and you just saw it!
I know you guys liked Bruce Springsteen "Streets of Philadelphia." His song "Atlantic City" is equally as beautiful. I'm from the island north of Atlantic City in New Jersey. My Dad worked many construction jobs in AC over the years. It's a gambling town.
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking" is an absolute jam delight from the Stick Fingers LP. Even if you don't do a RU-vid reaction, I would certainly recommend a listen. I believe you might enjoy. Enjoy the tunes Dudes.
I don't understand why the Stones delayed (for decades) the release of their performance at the Rock & Roll Circus. I wonder was it more to do with Brian's obvious estrangement. Anyway I love this performance.
Well guys, this is from the album Rock n Roll Circus which is also available in a movie (you should check some more from there actually). There is a quite good line up of artists performing there such as Jethro Tull, The Who, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithfull and the first and only one appearance of the group Dirty Mac featured by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Mitch Mitchel
Beatles and Rolling were no rivals. They grew better thanks one to the other (just like Messi and Ronaldo) One of the earliest Hits of the Rolling Stones was a Beatler gift "I wannna be your man", written by Lennon and McCartney. When the Beatles made "Sgt peppers lonely hearts club band", Rolling Stones made "Their satanic majestic request". Beatles "Let it be" was ansewered by Rolling "Let it bleed" Those were really funny games.
Bros, this was part of a video locked up for about 40 years called The Rolling Stones Circus. There were various members of the British bands of the day including The Who, the Beatles and others. One performance you really need to react to is Sympathy for the Devil. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Jwtyn-L-2gQ.html
The Rolling Stones came along right after The Beatles got started. They're early music was similar to Beatles music. Supposedly there was a rivalry between them but in fact The Beatles gave them their first hit song "I Wanna Be Your Man".
This performance if from the Rock'n'Roll Circus, which was unreleased for many years because the Stones thought their performance was not up to standard (and they were right). Go for the studio version.
I agree…please check out the studio version! This live one was good but I would just love to watch you guys react to the studio version I know for a fact you will love love love it!!!!! 😄
Doesn't matter to me back then Nick wasn't sure which way he wanted to go women men both but his moves improved over time Tina Turner help him with his dance moves cuz he really like to move around on the stage she said he had so much Soul more so in his little finger than most people have in their whole body he just didn't know how to release it
Mick was known for his dancing on stage in todays society if people saw mick dance like this they would think he was on drugs but back then his dancing was iconic
the stones music is acid etched into my dna, from the first time I heard them I have loved almost everything they've done...but from the very first time I saw them - and I mean early on on a little black and white TV - I thought jagger looked/moved like a spastic (the term at the time) idiot and I still do. they don't care either...
This is a pure rock version and a great performance, but the studio version with the choir is magnificent in its own right too, you should give it a listen boys.
why does everybody talk bout the same bands n songs? my offer is for exampe to compare Colin Newman's Alone track and it's cover by This mortal Coil or something like that B.R. from Russia
