A fan recently said, "It was the most electrifying atmosphere of any sporting event I’ve ever been to."
An unseasonably warm and sunny November day served as the backdrop for one of the most memorable games in Camp Randall Stadium history. In the span of three and a half hours, Ron Dayne put a bow on his Heisman-worthy season by setting the NCAA career rushing record, the Badgers manhandled rival Iowa to become back-to-back Big Ten Champions and punched their ticket to Pasadena for their third Rose Bowl appearance in seven years. Nov. 19, 1999 will live forever in Wisconsin football history and for those who were there to witness it, will be something they never forget.

That HAD to be amazing to see live! I remember back when Robin Yount was going for his 3,000th hit. We had got tickets for the night we figured he'd get it. He didn't. His last At Bat was in the 8th inning, and no hit. He only needed one more. So my two buddies and I ran down to the ticket office. There weren't a lot of decent seats left, but there were some Regular Mezzanine seats on the 3rd base side, between Home Plate and 3rd Base. We bought three of them. Sure enough he cracked a base hit, and the crowd went absolutely insane. It was really incredible to be there for that moment, that historic time. I remember that I yelled so much I could barely talk the next day, but boy was it fun!

His NFL career would’nt have been wasted if he didn’t go to the giants, people forget the he had 600 yards with the TEXANS, a team with no O-line

Agreed the late Jim Fassel was not the right coach for Ron Dayne (at all)

Other schools that recruited Dayne wanted to make him a fullback. Barry Alvarez thought otherwise. Alvarez is clearly underrated in the annals of college football. What he did to turn the Wisconsin football program around cannot be overlooked. He was a visionary, a key part to the success of players like Dayne.

Badgers OG Bill Ferrario and punter Kevin Stemke also played for the Packers in regular season games, so at least five.

@@SWabakken Neither one played in a regular season game. Ferrario was drafted by them, and Stemke was an UDFA, but neither played in a regular season game.

I stand half-corrected. You are right about Stemke; I'm right about Ferrario...we'll call it even! 🙂
