A Pavlova has an interesting history. I just looked it up. It’s a large meringue, topped with cream and fruit. It was named after a Russian Ballerina, Anna Pavlova and it was created for her while she was on tour in Australia and New Zealand. It's since become a national dessert in both countries. The name (and dessert) first appeared when world-famous Russian ballerina and choreographer Anna Pavlova began touring across America, Europe, and the UK in 1910.
