Yes, they haven't been paid by their company since the debut, almost 3 years now and they have an ongoing lawsuit at the moment

You should also react to Woosung's solo: Face. Its just SOOOO GOOOD, you will fall in love with Woosun'gs voice even more ;) . And yeah, they were having legal problems because of their company. They weren't fullfing their contract and weren't paying them, so The Rose had to take legal action and right now aren't so active because of that.

Yeah, the whole story about them not getting payed by their company seems pretty accurate to me. I mean, we know how shitty idol companies can be in Korea and they don't really have anything to gain by getting into this whole legal mess, so I wouldn't doubt it too much.

Woosung just has one of those voices that is so sincere, like you really feel he means every word he’s singing. You should watch I.L.Y.S.B (I love you so bad) the live performance on KBS. It really showcases how unique Woosung’s voice is and how well he plays with his voice when performing. They also have another song I.L.Y (I love you) which is a piano driven ballad. You could easily mix these up and click on the wrong one because of the titles so heads up!

I went to their concert in Ukraine almost two years ago kind of on a whim and not knowing much about them but boy did it ended up being one of the best concerts I've ever been to. They somehow sound even better live. I think they opened the show with "Sorry" and as soon as they played that first note, the crowd started singing along at the top of their lungs and the boys got so shook that people in some random country in Europe knew all the lyrics to their Korean song. They stepped away from the mics and just let the crowd sing the intro. It was the most wholesome thing ever. Dojoon got so entranced by it that he forgot that he was supposed to sing next lol I really hope that whatever is going on with that legal dispute is gonna be solved in their favor soon and they will be able to continue performing one way or another. If you ever get the chance to go to their concert - go, you will not regret it 😏 P.S. Woosung has a solo album that shows off his character and personal style really well, you can check it out as well.

This is made even worse due to their excessive schedules. According to the group many of these schedules were not even discussed with them beforehand.

"Sorry" was the first time I heard anything by The Rose. I came across their music only last year. But the moment I heard Woosung's voice I was hooked. It was unlike anything I had heard before and it was magical. Can't think of any other way to put it. I listened to that song so many times that day♥️ The other vocalist is Dojoon and I adore his vocals too. They compliment each other so perfectly, I feel. And yes please!!! Please react to Red!!!

You said they sound like a well-established band despite “Sorry” being their debut - it’s most probably because before their official debut they were an indie band for a few years, they did busking with covers but they also had some original songs (which remain without official release). So of course despite being insanely talented and skilled they had some experience as a band 😊 About them not getting paid: there is an ongoing lawsuit right now which concerns payments or rather the lack of them. They have also been mistreated during their last tour. Their schedule was extremely tight (concert every two days) in addition to travelling by bus all throughout Europe so they had nearly no time to rest. If you want to know more about this situation I advise you to check out the instagrams of the members. I think it’d be great if you did reactions to all of their officially released songs as there aren’t that many but I think it’s be great to watch some concert recordings as it not only shows their amazing skills but also some personality. I watched them live when they came to Houston and let me just say.... their vocals are SOOOOO impeccable and just amazing and I can't believe they're so good. Definitely such amazing artists. Their recorded vocals are amazing, but them live, takes it to a WHOLE new level. I wish everyone could go to one of their concerts and be blessed for a lifetime.

They actually were already a band before their debut and before they joined a company. They would do alot of busking as three (without woosung) they joined a company as the four of them

The thing about idol groups not getting paid, it does happen. The reason it happens is because idols have to pay off the debt they acquired through everything the company spent on them during trainee years. Either way, it’s not right for them to be getting nothing from the music they’ve made. I believe an idol should be paid enough to live off of while the rest goes to their company and debt. Getting paid nothing is far too overkill.

It may be their debut, but this is still my favorite song from "The Rose". You're right that the more you listen to it, the better it gets. I can feel those emotions oozing out from the music, lol. I highly recommend "RED", "Take Me Now", and "ILYSB" (this is a cover). If you wanna hear Woosung's voice to like max Woosung-y-ness, then I really recommend ILYSB to get your fix ^_^. Don't worry, we're all in love with Sammy. Definitely check out "Face", it's different but good. For a live "Red", I suggest the Culture Warehouse KBS one. The words "Culture Warehouse" won't show up in the title in English, but if you search for those words with the band & title it will come up first. They're currently inactive since their bassist was injured severely years ago and it was really difficult for him to continue playing :( They're an amazing band imo, Run Away is a really powerful song and their last release that's very personal to them and their struggles.

You should definitely listen to Baby , like we used to, I.L.Y and of course their b side tracks because honestly their albums don't disappoint even the unreleased songs they sing at their concerts are amazing like photographer and greed. The Rose debuted 3 Aug 2017 with "Sorry", but the reason why they sound like a more seasoned band even though it's their debut song is because they started out as friends who busked together in Hongdae earlier back in 2015/2016. Hajoon the drummer and Jaehyeong the bassist met, cos they were practicing in the same place. Jaehyeong then brought Dojoon the guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist into the group, and the 3 of them called themselves Windfall at the time. Jaehyeong and Dojoon were trainees in different companies at the time, then Dojoon left his company and started busking again, that's when he got pulled into Windfall. Then Dojoon and Woosung were drinking buddies, and Dojoon got Woosung to join Windfall. That's when Windfall became The Rose, and Woosung became its leader, vocalist and guitarist. The Rose signed with J&Star, then got into a lawsuit against them, then went independent creating their own label Windfall. "Sorry", "Baby" and "She's In The Rain" were all songs from the time they were with J&Star. In Aug 2022, after 3 of the 4 members had finished their military service, The Rose signed with Transparent Arts, who work in partnership with Windfall. They've released 2 albums post-military service. "Heal" was an album created to heal both them and their fans called Black Roses. And the latest album "Dual" was released 22 Sep 2023 and it hit 83 on the Billboard 200 the week after its release, with The Rose being 1 on Billboard's Emerging Artists chart that week as well. Between these 2 albums is when Woosung worked with Yoongi on "Snooze", and thanks to that collab, I came to know about The Rose.

I just started listening to The Rose and now I am obsessed. Woosung is mesmerizing and Dojoon's voice is very beautiful...combined with all the lovely music...magical. I can't wait to see them here in LA in Nov. They are with a new label, so they should get money flowing in soon. I know I am willing to throw my money at them!

I'm so glad the Rose is finally getting more attention, they're such an incredibly talented group! Also yes, their company hasn't paid them since their debut, they're currently in a lawsuit trying to nullify their contract with the company for this and the fact that their company, without their knowledge or consent, scheduled them for 17 US concerts in a month which is insane. Their company is denying this and accusing the Rose of defamation and breaking a legal contract since the group refuses to continue with schedules issued by the company. If you see this, you should react to their OST 'Strangers', it has a hard rock/creepy vibe to it and it's probably my favourite song by them!! Keep up the good work :)

I know this video is three years old, but I'm just discovering it. I so appreciate this reaction video, I can't even express! "I think I might be in love with him". Me too, Champ, me too! I'm too old for him, but it doesn't stop me from being completely in love. His voice actually made me fall in love with this band. BUT, I will also say that the more I have listened, the more I adore Dojoon's voice, too! Like, I LOVE the way they switch off lead vocals. This band has TWO lead vocalists, IMO, and they are both so good in different ways. It kills me when "reactions" either ignore Dojoon completely, or don't seem to grasp when they first listen that it's TWO different vocalists, but you knew in your first reaction video with them, the moment they switched, and you commented on what great singers they both are. I so appreciate that.

If you want to check out more bands, I highly recommend listening to IZ. They're a very underrated band and they have some really good songs. I recommend listening to Eden or Angel first.

I think we all pretty much fell in love with Woosung's voice since the beginning x'D FACE is a really nice song in general, it sounds catchy, the lyrics are awesome, the MV goes hand in hand with the lyrics even if it doesn't seem like it does. Now if you want a "happier" song by The Rose, RED is the one.

Woosung's voice was what interested me the most and then I fell for the band as a whole. I'm still fairly new to the band myself and plan to hear more of their music and live performances. Yes pls do red next!

I LOOOOVE THIS SONG 💗💕💖💝💘💞 The first time I heard this song, I was instantly in love. And I agree!! It doesn't sound like a debut song!! It's so good 💗 Though, it is true they've had experience with performing! I believe Woosung went on an audition program yeaaaars ago and before they debuted as The Rose, the bassist, Jaehyeong, drummer Hajoon, and keyboardist/acoustic guitar/vocalist Dojoon were a band called Windfall. I can't remember exactly either but I believe this song actually reached top 8th for a music show!! One of my favorite songs from The Rose is actually still unreleased (they've performed it since pre-debut). It's called 놓지 못하게. And the other members also sing in it! I'm not sure if this type of performance is something you'd react to since it hasn't been officially released but I think you should check it out!

I have become addicted to Korean singers. Started with my Kim Hyun Joong and went bat crazy!! Can’t understand a word in Korean, but I swear the language when he sings it just has a beautiful romantic sound. Same with The Rose and Park Hyo Shin. Really appreciate their adding English lyrics but still love the all Korean as well. Kim Hyun Joong’s Four Seasons-listen to everyday!!

The first song I listened to by The Rose was "Back To Me", which I thought was good, but it didn't really speak to me. Then I heard "Alive" and I was hooked. Then I heard "You're Beautiful" and that made me stay. I've since also purchased their "Dual" album and also fallen in love with 3 other songs in it - "Lifeline", "Angel" and "Wonder". It would be great if you could react to The Rose again. Any of the songs I mentioned here would be good. The thing they have in common with BTS, other than Woosung's friendship and collab song with Yoongi, is that both groups believe that music is for healing. Woosung wanted to become a psychologist before music had other plans for him.

During that year, for me The Rose and Valkaryne were the best debut song for me. I am not their fan, but I do appreciate the best songs when I found one.

Queendom was a show last year with groups like Mamamoo, (G)Idle, and Park Bom where they competed and collabed with each other. Great show if you want to see up and coming groups.

sadly yes they weren’t payed since debut, nearly 3 years. they filed a lawsuit against their company, and they won. they’re contracts were terminated and they’re no longer in that company. we aren’t sure if they’re doing the band on their own now, or finding a new company at the moment. the back up vocalist (dojoon) also had to enlist for his service, as all men born and living in south korea have to. we’ll see him again in around 18 months. because of that, they may or may not hold off on having another comeback.

The Rose *terminated* their contract with J&Star company. Currently The Rose is without a company but asked their fans (black roses) to wait for them. Please, You MUST listen to "Strangers" by The Rose. It's an OST for the KDrama "Strangers From Hell". It's shows what a broad spectrum of sound they have. Totally different to what you would have listened to by them so far I think.👍

TL;DR N.Flying is great!! You should definitely check out more. I recommend The Real, Leave It, and Rooftop! I also love N.Flying! So if you plan on checking more of them out, for MVs/title tracks, check out The Real, Leave It, and Rooftop (and if you're alright with japanese releases, Songbird, Kick-ass, and their recently-released Amnesia (reminds me of P!aTD's High Hopes))! They go hard for The Real and Leave It so I think you might like them (and The Real MV has a comedy factor to it 😆). While Rooftop is a song that got them their first ever music show win!! (and their second win too). The story behind Rooftop winning is really amazing. Though they had finished their official promotions with this song, they came back to promote it again because a fan posted online about how good the songs is and news about the song spread and it got to chart high on music charts!! But I think bands really shine through in live performances so if you're interested in those they've released live versions of some songs on their youtube channel! A fan-favorite would definitely be Flowerwork (also quite hard)! The vocals are oustanding their main vocalist belts out for every chorus of the song! But other live ver I think you should check out is The Real/진짜가 나타났다, 4242 (fun and hyper), Waiting For... (a campaign song to advocate for adopting pets, an intense sad song, "crying out"), and Sunset (happy and fun, feel-good). (Leave It also has a live ver!! and they also uploaded a live version of Rooftop but its japanese version on their japan channel). They have a very wide range when it comes to music so I think you'll be refreshed without their performance falling short! They also have incredible covers! They've made medley covers and I think you'd be most interested to know that they've made for Queen and Michael Jackson. My absolute favorite medley cover of theirs is their Japanese Anime and Game Song Medley. And if you're interested in some senior korean bands like CNBLUE and FTISLAND, they've made fantastic medley covers of them too!

I already said it in the last day6 video... but I really love kbands and one of my favrouite bands is onewe so I would love to see you reacting to more of their songs for example Regulus ^^ Oh and Onewe has a comeback soon >.< all their songs are really good and they produce them on their own :)
