On the cap lifter, all you have to do is remove some material from the hook portion of the lifter. I opened mine up to a little over 6mm between the hook & the arch. It only took a minute with a dremel, but you have to use a small stone to get in there. I think they are great little knives. I rarely use the cap lifter, so I didn't even know it was an issue until Hobie on RU-vid did a video about it.

I removed about a mm from the lower jaw with a jeweler's file. Can't complain. Although my edc is the Marble's 278 Demo knife. It has exactly the same blades as this one, except no half stop on the main blade. I keep this one on my desk.

Tobias Gibson made the same comparison video where he mentioned that the bottle opener on the new one did not work as where the old one did. SMKW need to be notified and they need to fix this. It is all of your jobs as knife enthusiasts who are spokes persons in the knife community to demand better. We rely on you guys to keep them producing good products. Please don't take anything laying down. Pitch a bitch. And if they don't listen, let us viewers know about. They don't realize how many of us even buy these traditional folders because of you guys. They need to listen to all of you guys.

You can buy two and still spend less than buying a GEC Johnny On the Spot camp knife. LOL.

I would be willing to pay $10 more if the cap lifter worked batter and the awl was sharper. Also if the steel was better. I would like to see a comparison and demo video between this knife and the GEC camp knife.

Me too but GEC camp knives are not easy to find.
