The 7th Armored Division "practically ceased to exist"?? Really? That is an exaggeration. They assumed the offensive in January and recaptured St Vith.

General Hasbrouck said Montgomery's decision to pull back from St Vith to better defensive positions and escape an encirclement saved the 7th Armored from annihilation.

My neighbor, 97 and still vivit, told me there was 20cm of snow and it was minus 20° C. And the said the SS came through here and that he then hid in the forest. Last month a found a German 7.92 cartridge in my garden.

The USSR would have collapsed without the Lend-Lease Act and help from Britain (intelligence). Loss of food would have sealed the fate of the soviets (unless helped by foreign powers fighting for communism) The soviets got enough food from the USA to feed its soldiers for the rest of the war, 12 million boots , 60 percent aluminum and steel, a lot of tin , 90 percent of railway equipment ( the soviets would never have been able to conduct offensives so fast and transfer their main armies to critical points , 300000 trucks were given , 65 percent of aviation fuel and much more apart from 15 percent tanks ,aircrafts Soviet sympathizers say "only 15 per cent was given to USSR"

When you see the faces of people who make this type of videos, and people who follow this kind of stuff, all so obsessed with wars, you simply see that they are nerds with way too many complexes, and they need all this military stuff to feel some sense of power. There are better ways to grow as a person and to fullfil your life.

Why go to all the work to create a video like this and have the AI narration butcher the pronunciations of the people, places and unit names. Unwatchable.

Americans had it easy compare to the Russians yet that didn't stop the capture of Berlin by the Red army 💪

Democracies have to worry more about casualties than dictatorships do. Ike decided that it wasn’t worth losing men for Berlin, when its partition had already been determined.

@@scotthill8787 but at least the Russians showed firstly they can take heavy casualties and still win wars Secondly Russians can say proudly they were the first to set foot in the capital of nazi Germany before the Anglo-American troops
@screambeyond
@screambeyond 14 дней назад
@@JDDC-tq7qm It seems you don't understand what @scotthill8787 told you. Nazis were already defeated before the red army got into Moscow. That was a show rather than a victory. In any case, the soviets lost such a brutal amount of people that it is no so clear if that is a victory. I mean, Russia defeated that army but still lives in trauma since then. Instead Germany got very prosperous afterwards. Or in other words, the way the red army won, not caring about lives, is not really winning. Russia is still suffering the consequences.

The trouble with the german ofensivewas lack.of fuel. Mantuiffel was ready to move in on anterp but ran of fuel . Never mind the bullshit sbout bastogne they should have kept moving toward anterp thats where all fuel was for allied armies. If germans got anterp the jig would be up for english and americans!!_--- Bastogne and paratroopers would be foot note in battle of the bulge. Also.bastogne defenders would get a crash course in learning german. armies
@davidjackson2179
@davidjackson2179 20 дней назад
lol. You’re high as a kite if you think taking Antwerp would have done anything but creat a slight delay for the Allies. The Americans and British had overwhelming superiority of aircraft, tanks and men on the Western front by late 1944. Germany was utterly doomed well before they launched this hopeless gamble. Hitler lost the war in 1941, maybe even in 1939 the moment they started the conflict in Poland. By 1944-45 they were just wasting their soldiers lives cavalierly
@franc9111
@franc9111 17 дней назад
From the moment the Allies realised what the Wehrmacht were attempting to do, they immediately reorganised their tactical plans. Monty put into place a blocking strategy that made sure the the Germans weren't going to get anywhere near Antwerp. On the northern side of the 'bulge', the Wehrmacht were pushed back, When the American units did make a strategic withdrawal, they destroyed all their fuel dumps as it was rightly guessed that the Wehrmacht would want to use them. In fact the German plan did indeed depend on seizing fuel from the Allies, something about which the Wehrmacht generals were very dubious.
