2010-2013 were my favourite years for Request/TRF. Parris pioneered and changed the culture for dance, Kpop & hip hop. Im very glad to be one of the people to witness their hard work and incredible journey to success.
@@BasedOnHope yeah i think so too she definitely changed the way in how to utilize the whole stage and dancers cohesively and to be synchronized with transitions not to mention the remixe's being on point. I've watched alot of other mega crews before and after .. but nothing can compare to RF not saying that they can't dance but with the way parris mind works is mind blowing. They definitely set the tone for not being complacent in routines huh ..
lol. haven't seen many then. this is good but it is obviously dated. you can see how choreos, especially for mega crews, evolved in 10 years. what they do today is waaaay more complex and in sync. i mean just check for example justjerk front view feebdack 2023. and that's just one example.
@@julianleft4662 It’s relative, RF were the best crew of 2013. I mean, what did Just Jerk look like in 2013? Also it seems after Jam Republic’s win with Baby Jam, RF is still setting the standard. Kirsten, Ling, Emma all came thru or competed against RF (as in Emma’s case). Parris’ work lives on in her crew. First Kiel Tutin who is amazing, now Kirsten.
In 2013, i was a high schooler watching and wishing I had their confidence. In 2020 I finally started taking dance class but still didn't love my moves or how I looked. Its 2023 now and i LOVE seeing my personal growth both technically and emotionally-- finally I feel confident about myself 🎉 One thing hasn't changed in the past 10 years -- my love for the Royal Family dance crew. I dont know if anyone is reading but THANK YOU for being such an inspiration to me ❤❤❤
the entire sequence from 3:10 is breathtaking, like some of the best dancing ive ever seen. such a proud kiwi- the energy and talent and choreography is amazing!
+Gabby King The best though? That's kinda pushing it. I mean they did some hand movements. I wouldn't say the best though. Quite good but the BEST you ever seen? Really!?
Chris Wellz personally, yes, in this genre of hip hop. i grew up watching and performing hip hop and i really appreciate this particular style, and this performance is particularly extraordinary.
That guy at 3:15 leading the she-pack is everything! I LIVE! YES! Also, some you are saying this team didn't deserve to win because this wasn't Hip Hop, can't be more wrong. See Hip Hop is not only music it's dance as well. Look into the history of HH and you'll see what I mean.
Best Part You're Right !! Also I agree I'm the biggest Parris Goebel fan and people have to get into their cultural side to see where they come from and their style. Polyswagg all day !
In my opinion this is RF’s best ever performance at HHI.They were magnetic to watch all the way through this routine.I couldn’t take my 👀 off of them!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🔥🔥🔥🇳🇿
I've watched this like so many times one of my favourite but ONLY now do I see the guy handing the cap to Althea (I think) at 2:36 and she puts it on her head. Like they make that even look part of the choreo. Sooooo impressive.
The Royal Family Class of 2013 an 2012 is by far the best groups of dancers they've had at the company with Laurence Lance Kiel Jaycee O'Neil twins Paul the list goes on
For those saying it ain't hip hop. The grown woman part with the Amazing cannon onwards , the moves that look like they're flailing their arms about . ITS CALLED WAACKING AND ITS PART OF HIP HOP.
I CAN WATCH THIS 1 MILLION TIMES A DAY IF I COULD! The really tall guy is so attractive!! But the dancing is bloody awesome I want to make my own dance crew far out!!
I know you left this comment 9 years ago, but the really tall guy is Lance Savali, no matter how many times I watch this my eye is always drawn to him too lol! I love how the male dancers can go from gangsta to fierce cunt in a flash too lol! 😂❤
Потрясающий коллектив, энергетика так и льётся с экрана. Смотрю каждый раз, перед работой, что бы зарядиться на весь день. Привет из России. Всем добра )))
you can tell the difference between this performance and the iconic 2015 performance. seems like two completely different groups. excellent in 2013 and just even more excellent 2 years later. the development in skill required to be in the group advanced between those two performance. and now in 2022, the skill required to be in the group is so elevated. it’s like being selected to be in alvin ailey or the american ballet theater. just prestigious.
Hi Parris, my name is Vero, I am from Spain to the Canary Islands. I also dance and compete,I took three years racing in Barcelona and this year I started to compete in the islands, won the silver medal, my grupoo called Bolt On Fire. My sisters and I are super-fans of Royal Family, Sorority, ReQuest, Bubblegum but above all, because I transmit force to keep dancing and every day more than me. We hope that one day you come to the Canary Islands. besos: Vero
Why so perfect :o . The rawness of your movement is perfectly poised in away I cant describe. Absolutely blown away! That is why you have won back to back championship at hhi. I love Poly SWAG!!! .
I feel like a traitor for saying, but the Kiwi's have it all over us Australians as far as Hip hop is concerned :P Get goosebumps every time I watch the RF, I will be forever following you talented people. Love from Aus :D
Jade Kay Maybe one day Hip Hop will become as mainstream in Australia as it is in NZ. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Until then I don't think we have a chance at HHI. It also wouldn't hurt if we converted some of the RF to our cause :P
GotPropz I think they're talking about the Mega Crew category which is what Royal Family are in. The Australian crew one silver in the Adult category :)
This is hands down one of the most incredible Choreos i have ever seen throughout my years working in the dance scene (And I film, edit, and dance for a living). Would love to see it live. I think this set and Gravy babies Body Rock Choreo are up there for best of 2013 thus far.
I don't know why I just love this group I've watched this one video about hundred time for the year and the ending never gets old i love the crowns up fam
What i really like about the Royal family is that they transition seamlessly on and off the stage. They follow the music or style of dance. Not like every single other mega crew that does the ninja crouch run on and off the stage.
I played this in class and I kid you not when I say the entire class went wild when those Caribbean vibes came through. And that one boy leading the girls had me like WHOOOOO YOU GO BOO!!!!!!
I am and always will be a huge RF fan- but what happened to the 2013 RF crew? RF always had the best song choices, and that's what captivated and drew people towards them. Their performances were entertaining and memorable. It's what set them apart from other crews. Each member of the group had a role and no one 'out-shined' the others (except their leader, Parris of course). They nailed 2013, 2014 and 2015, but now it's gone kinda downhill from there. I didn't like any of the 2016 performances, and was more disappointed in the 2017 ones. I felt like the performances are mainly Ruthy Pearce and her backup dancers (no hate to her, it's just what I'm getting from the perforances). I feel like they're focussed on making visual illusions not dedicating their dance to entertaining and enjoyment. I don't think Parris is choreographing these performances at all:(
I think WE not only us Polynesians but others, should appreciate the influence of black culture because they own the Dance and some things that we like to Listen and dance to.. people around the world need to appreciate that and give credits to the Real OGs.. our poly kids love to dance and they love to share this too. Nothing but Respect to them. ❤️❤️ poly love!
