The Royal Succession by Maurice Druon Review, The book that inspired House of the Dragon 

The Accursed Kings Series by Maurice Druon a book series that doesn't get nearly enough recognition, this is one of the series that greatly inspired A Song of Ice and Fire. Really worth reading check it out as George R R Martin lifted a lot of his characters from these books.
