It's funny how the early 2000s is such a hole in my NFL memory. Clinton Portis was a helluva RB back in that time period. It's also great to hear two great voices in Enberg and Dierdorf on the call.

You're doing a fantastic job. BTW, week 11 this year has an epic showdown between the Rams and Chiefs. Maybe a nice throwback to the 2000 game might be in order. That was interesting as the 6-0 Rams were on a tear that year offensively, but Warner got hurt in that game and was sidelined for a bit. Chiefs dropped a 50 burger on the Rams, with Warren Moon making a guest appearance!

Portis would've been a hall of famer had he stayed in Denver
@schuylersavage276
@schuylersavage276 5 лет назад
Do you know how much success he had in Washington though? I get what you are saying Cuz of how good his 2 years were in Denver but it’s not like he totally feel off...he played 7 years in wabsognton and 4 of them were 1200,1300,1400 and 1500 yards ...and the other 3 years he only played in like 5,8 and 8 games due to injuries and things so he most likely would have been over 1000 every year except his last...he did get the rock so many times a game that it could have worn him down too fast but idk man I think he still deserves the Hall...he just played in an era with so many amazing RBs. The thing that really seemed to change the most from Denver to Washington was his game braking speed. That being said someone who rushes for over 1480 yards 4 different seasons and never makes all pro ...that’s insane...says soemtbitn about early 2000s rb talent I guess eh!? But 9,923 yards 75 TDs in only 108 starts sounds like the Hall to me... To guess what his numbers would have been like in Denver if he stayed tho? Hm. I mean Washington had a decent Oline at the time as well but clearly Denver’s line was so good and we can see how many players had amazing seasons even after portis left...I mean it was like a new 1000 yard guy each year and it didn’t matter if it was Tatum Bell or Orlandis Gary or mike Anderson running for 250 yards lol, anyone running behind that line lit it up...so I would guess that portis would be closer to 12000 career yards and possibly On even less carries. It just would have been easier for him I guess. He had to work so hard for his yards in Washington. They wanted him to literally carry them to any victory he could and that’s why his yards per carry went down to below 4 some years becuse he was getting like 380-400 carries! It’s also whybhe lsot that speed I assume
@Ginga
@Ginga 3 года назад
@@schuylersavage276 Part of why his speed diminished in Washington, especially from his second year there was him bulking up to handle the power running game. He went 60+ yards to the house on his first carry as a Redskin and showed the juice but that might have been the most impressive run of his Washington tenure. As he bulked up and the touches racked up, he lost that game breaking speed. He’ll never get into the HoF but he’ll always be one of my favourite RBs.

If you do, don't wait a moment longer to start your new life in Jesus Christ. Remember, this prayer is not a magical formula. You are simply expressing your heart to God. Pray this with us: "Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life and forever In Jesus' name I pray, Amen." Prayer of Salvation - I've Prayed It; Now What? If you've prayed this prayer of salvation with true conviction and heart, you are now a follower of Jesus. This is a fact, whether or not you feel any different. Religious systems may have led you to believe that you should feel something - a warm glow, a tingle, or some other mystical experience. The fact is, you may, or you may not. If you have prayed the prayer of salvation and meant it, you are now a follower of Jesus. Welcome to the family of God! We encourage you now to find a local church where you can be baptized and grow in the knowledge of God through His Word, the Bible. www.allaboutgod.com
