@yoshiwoollyworldAt the time, and as of now, I don’t own an actual Donkey Kong figure. King Kong was lying around, so I thought it would be funny to use him as a placeholder.
Thank you algorithm for gracing me with a new, very talented TRG fan. I appreciate the time and effort that goes into Stop Motion and seeing a giant gorilla alongside Mario characters with Emile’s voice coming out of it, made things all the better. Well made.
First animation I've seen of TRG that's stop motion! I can tell how much effort went into this, especially with how fluid some of the movements are. You did amazing!
I like how all of them are just regular Mario character figures except Chuggaaconroy who is represented by a King Kong action figure with a red paper tie because he’s supposed to stand in for donkey Kong. Reminds me of that one episode of SpongeBob with the live action guy in the gorilla costume.
This was really funny! Stop motion takes a lot of time and passion and it definitely shows. The King Kong Emile cracks me up! Also the blue fabric for the water and red for the lava was clever.
This really deserves more attention. Stop-motion is a ton of work, and I can see the effort you put into things like set design and props. An excellent tribute!
2:50 Reminds me of a movie scene, probably because I watched Hoodwinked so many times as a kid, but the argument during a sense of urgency is always a fun scene.
This was so good! The stop motion and the editing was so on point, and lent itself well to the Runaway Guys' brand of chaos! Hoping to see more in the future!
The "amateurishness" (I don't mean to sound disrespectful but I can't think of another word) just helps to sell the comedy. The figure stands just being...there got a laugh out of me.
Been a while since I’ve seen a TRG animated. You knocked it out of the park with this video! I’m gonna watch more of your videos this week. Congrats, you just gained a new sub! :D
I really loved the way you used that blue carpet as water. I dont know why but something about the way you animated it really works and is charming as heck
very good use of stop motion! I especially like what was done for the mine cart segment where they're moving while in a moving cart- I can see a lot of time and effort going in to get the timing and motions just right
So glad the algorithm pointed me this way. Don't think I need to echo what everyone has said about stop motion being art and how fun these classic moments being interpreted is, but I guess I went ahead and did it anyways. XD Would be funny if you had/get a DK figure akin to the others you already have.... but have him stand in the background doing something funny while King Kong continues to be Chugga.
Plot Idea: Donkey Kong was supposed to be the actor for Chugga, but he happened to be sick during the recording. So out of desperation, the crew brought in King Kong as a temporary replacement. The reception was so good, that King Kong replaced DK. DK being furious, decides to try and sabotage the recording sessions, but ends up failing miserably and makes the videos even better.
Seems like I'm another person who had this recommend in their feed. And yes this was really enjoyable. TRG needs some more stop motion highlights. Great work
I remember it taking about 2 months to make, some scenes were difficult like the mine cart scene and when ever I had to do a long shot of all the characters (The stands would keep falling over). The creation of the sets also added some time to the process.
A while back, Kong fell off my shelf and the foot peg broke off. I tried my best to stick it on in some scenes, but it kept falling off. So I just stopped trying at some point.
