Russ Abbot is such a skilled performer - and what a wonderful ensemble. Great pity we don't have such friendly comedy on tv in these cynical times.

how I miss the good old days of Christmas telly of the 1970s and 80s,....great shows, great performers,...and great fun and entertainment for all the family,...those were much simpler times,....great memories

There was good family entertainment tv back then 70s,80s,and 90s just the best.

Made my stomach turn with nostalgia that's first TV ident then the first skit.. Wow time has gone so fast.. Could make one quite teary if didn't stiffen ya sinnew.

Thank you for sharing.....I was only wee when Russ Abbot was on the go. Being Scottish, my friends and I loved his Scottish dude sketches. I wish there were repeats of this type of show on telly. The stuff that's on these days is pure mince lol!

Oh my gosh! XD I only remember seeing this on a now lost series, "Oh Noooo! Mr. Bill Presents" He has a couple of British comedy stars on his program, including Russ Abbot. And I especially remember seeing the musical toys skit on that program, and I could never stop laughing every time I saw it. Sadly, my old VHS tape which had the recording busted and is no longer able to play. SO happy to see this skit again, and just in time for this Christmas season. ^_^
