Some ITX cases can still fit full sized graphics cards no problem, but why do you care so much about an ITX case anyway? Compact cases are, in general, difficult to work with, and it's a lot easier to find a good deal on a graphics card upgrade if you're not restricted by having to find a smaller than normal graphics card size. Smaller cases are also a lot more difficult to cool, and you're likely to have to run your fans at high rpms, creating more noise, just to keep the system adequately cooled. My previous case was very compact, but I got sick of it and eventually switched to a nice big ATX case that's really easy to work with, and I have never regretted it. I highly recommend a decent sized mATX case with plenty of room in it for the graphics card and CPU cooler, and also with good ventilation, or just a full sized ATX case.
The 6600xt is without a doubt one of my best purchases, it was one of the few cards back in 2021 that wasn't ridiculously priced like the equivalent 3060 and performed better.
Agreed. I have an RX 6600 (non-XT) in one of my rigs and an RTX 3050 8GB in another. So far both are great, but the RX 6600 will probably age better as more demanding games come out.
@@Rebe-Caufmanhe means in terms of performance, and the 8GB model is actually alright when it comes to that. The price however is atrocious and the Arc A580 for 169$ completely destroys it
@5:50 - Well, it makes sense that it's "pretty much a 1080p gaming card" because that's exactly what it was meant for. Even says so right on the box. :)
I still think that, personally, the RX 6600XT and the RX 6800XT are the cards of the generation. *Maaaybe* you could make the case too for a 3060 12gb, literally just because it's got that 12g's which does make it a better purchase *IF* it was at the same price--but the problem is, as guy above says, "that wasn't ridiculously priced" and 3060's are too much more expensive it outclips the VRAM gains. But I mean still, 3060 was the only card from 30 series I found at least acceptable, all the rest having terrible VRAM and/or terrible MSRPs, along with bad drivers and fiery plugs and just dumb b.s. like that. So for me, the 2020's cycle was the 6600XT and 6800XT for the best most defining GPUs, for the previous generation before it was the RX 5700XT, and for the generation behind that it was the 1060 and the 1080ti, and prior to that it was the GTX 980 and GTX 980ti with honourable mention for the 970 even though it got them sued just because eh, it was popular and powerful enough to where 970 is a bit of a standard like the 1060. All that stated I do however believe teh RX 6650XT and the RX 6600 non-XT are extremely worthy mentions. Pretty much everything below the RX 6900XT and above the RX 6500XT was AWESOME. The 6500XT was a steaming piece of crap, the 6900XT was a golden sample 6800XT for way too much money, and the 6950XT was a good contender to face off with the 3090ti (although admittedly anybody who's in that price class is going to want RT, like I can't think of why you'd get 4090 or 3090ti without RT, as someone who doesn't give any shit about raytracing if I spent more than a thousand dollars yeah that's the point where VRAM, great NATIVE 4K performance, and raytracing all start to matter a lot more). It shocks, astounds, confuses, and disgusts me to this very day that not only was the 3050 non-ti priced like a 6650XT which creamed its ass across the board including even native RT but that it was honest to God getting sold to retards on Steam. I am honestly a bit speechless by this. Who in tf would even buy a 3050 when you can get a 6650XT instead?? I mean it was simply mindblowing
Back when they started to drop in price I bought a 6600xt for my wife’s first build then a year later passed it down to our daughters build and upgraded the wife to a 6750xt at a similar price! Which all goes well as I have a 6900xt so we’re a 6000 series fam! ❤🤘
Got the exact same card last year. paired it with Ryzen 5 5600 X. Thing's a beast. Could've saved more for a better card, but, for a beginner, this card's more than enough.
I've been using one of these for 1440 gaming since March of 2022. I don't really play a lot of newer or AAA games though so I've never had any complaints about its performance.
I bought a used 6600xt came from a 5600xt. I have a 500watt evga PSU I wanted to upgrade without having to upgrade my PSU. The 6600xt has equal performance to the 5700xt with lower power consumption! At 1080p im very happy with this card!
@@TheJuniorgonzales RX 6600 XT is 73.7% faster than RX 5500 XT in 1080p RX 6600 XT is 76.2% faster than RX 5500 XT in 1440p RX 6600 XT is 70.8% faster than RX 5500 XT in 4K I would think so!
My sb was recently talking about selling his old 1070 for a 6600xt. Said he was getting nearly double the performance in some of the games he plays. Great little card.
I bought one of the best versions of this card (Powercolor Red Devil) 2 years ago for 240€ (tax not included) and it's still a beast at 1080p. It's quiet, efficient and has cool-looking RGB built in. I don't think I will upgrade anytime soon.
I managed to get a used RX 6600XT (MSI Gaming X) for $250AUD ($165USD) back in Nov 2023. I started laughing when I saw the 2nd hand market get stupid from inflation with RX 6600s (not the 6600 XTs mind you) hitting $200USD a month later, and since then it's slowly tapering off from that price point. I also bought a hardly used Arc A750 (ASRock Challenger) for the same $165USD price in Dec 2023 and haven't looked back. Both cards are phenomenal 1080p beasts at their price points, and I would love to see a video on the Arc A750 with its current driver support (and not its early adoption curse bashing it got from release lol). RX 6600 XT vs Arc A750... lets go!
Around £150 for this card is a very reasonable price, it's definitely one of the best bang for buck cards going. I got the next one up, a RX 6700, but I paid £320 in 2022 when prices were still a bit high.
@@peterpan408 Yeah, that's why I upgraded from my GTX 1060, which lasted me over 6 years and it was beginning to struggle with 1440p gaming. Awesome card which I still own in another PC.
I bought this last year to play Starfield (bad idea lol) and certainly didn't regret it going forward, especially when I got around to playing Alan Wake 2 which I wish you benchmarked here! Really surprisingly good performance for such a good looking game, and I doubt my 1660 Super would've even had playable FPS
Back then I got a 6650xt for only like U$15 more than the cheapest 6600xt I could find and it's still working like a miracle using an ultrawide 1080p monitor, one of my best purchases ever, you should take a look at it if the results are different enough to warrant another video!
I have the RX6600XT but the Gigabyte 3 fan version. This is really a beast. I am planning to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 but now is running with i7-4770k (at 4,8GHz). On 1440p more than enough for all of the games.
@@82_930 I am not gonna buy intel anymore. I am builded this config in 2015, with i5-4460, later upgraded to the i7. Back then AMD was not that good, but now i really like their products.
Finally this GPU got the respect it deserved, previously i had XFX RX 6600 XT speedster but i sold it because the temps were getting very high, then a while i got sapphire nitro rx 6600 XT not gonna lie its looks + cooling is just great 😃
@@iterati0n in places where 2nd hand GPUs are plenty and are fairly priced then yeah it might be a waste of money, but some places don't have a great 2nd hand or used market to them this card is fine for the price
@@shrishpotdar343 that's fair although this commenter specified they are from the UK where we have a pretty decent used market on ebay, even the shop cex provides a system where you can buy used gpu's or sell them your own ones
I found a new 6600 XT on eBay for $150 in 2023. I got it, tested it, and liked it so much I ordered a second 6600 XT. Both cards are in my FX 9370 PC running GTA Online, idle farming cash at my nightclub.
My i3-12100f + RX 6600XT PC was my ol' reliable gaming pc. I eventually upgraded my pc parts but in terms of bang-for-buck, I was so impressed by my i3 + RX 6600XT
I have this same exact model, and its finally nice to see consistent triple digit fps on the games I play (mostly older/esports titles) at 1080p after having played on very old hardware or weaker mobile graphics on laptops, I could've gotten a 6650XT for just $4 more but it was sniped from me but this card was still worth the price I paid for it imo ($185)
2021 was tough for GPU purchases. Sometimes, it was cheaper to buy a prebuilt with a decent GPU than it was to buy a GPU on its own. Scalpers and a crypto-currency craze were partly to blame. Many midrange cards weren't on the shelves of retailers, or they were at ridiculous prices and not at MSRP... The 6600XT looks like a deal now, and it would have been a better purchase than the RTX 2060 I acquired in early 2021...
The 6000 series is killing it right now value wise on the used market. Was rocking a 6700XT I got for around $250 for awhile and had an excellent time gaming at 1440p.
I am happy to say that the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX 2080 Super machine I am currently running plays the latest version of Fallout 4 at 1920x1080 and 80 FPS locked pretty solidly maxed out. I (so far) have not noticed any eye straining dips like the game used to do even on lower settings. It only took 9 years to make the game at least seem to run better.
I got a 6650xt for ~500cad new in 2022. Very happy. I bought a 7700xt for 630cad a few months ago. Drivers have been terrible but are getting better. It's nice having a 1440p card with great fps. 6600 cards are barely 1440p capable imo.
This is my current GPU, upgraded from a 4 GB RX 570, got it used, paid around 200 GBP converted from my country's currentcy. It's a pretty capable card even though I am running it in PCIe 3.0 (I have a B450m motherboard) pairs well with my Ryzen 5 5600x. 8GB of VRAM is such a huge difference when I was rocking the 4GB RX 570
Back in 2020/2021 my old PC was starting to have problems, so I decided it was time to build up a new PC. As we all know, graphics cards shot up to ridiculous prices back then. I was fortunate enough to win one of those "lotteries" on Newegg to buy a 6600 XT at the then MSRP. Fast forward to today and I love this card. Plays pretty much everything I throw at it at high or better at 1080P. Maybe in a few more generations of GPUs I'll grab an upgrade, but currently the 6600 XT handles my gaming just fine.
Got my brother one last year to replace the old GTX 1070 I gave to him a long time ago and only paid $220 brand new. Considering how bad the value tends to be in the $200-300 range, this was an excellent deal. These can be had for like $180-195 now it seems, awesome for the money.
As an owner of a RX 6600XT I can also confirm it's a good video card for the money. For me it was a great uplift from the 1060 3GB I had before it. Most importantly, when I purchased my RX 6600XT in August of 2022 I was able to get it for a several dollars under MSRP at a time when most other cards, especially Nvidia ones, were being sold for 25-50+% over their MSRP! Picking one up now for just under $200 new or even less used would make for a good mid-range experience.
i remember the video you made, called something like "6600 xt lol" back when this card was new; it's insane to think about how much better things have gotten since then
I just spent the morning playing VR games with my daughter on a machine I built for her in December. I opted for the 6600xt to keep within a reasonable budget. It's a superb little card.
Epic video RGIHD about 3 months ago I built a budget pc with the rx 7600 here is what i have! I5 12400f msi h610 mobo 32gb ddr4 ram 2x16gb Sapphire rx 7600 2tb silicon power nvme ssd evga 500w 80B deepcool micro atx case W11 pro
I got a 6700xt for the price of a 6650xt, our GPU market is as steep as UK here in scandinavia so it was a big win for me going from a 5, soon 6 year old 1070, I will use him to build an emulation rig for PS2, Dolphin and N64 games in a seperate case (I will try to find a decent cheap workstation with no GPU second hand) :3
Unfortunately in my country, nobody bought them so retailers have old stock which are still priced at 400usd while rx7600 costs about 280 here. Still a great video btw.
The 6650xt was a superb purchase when I was in need. I had to give this one a pass for a few reason but felt it was an excellent option. I did finally upgrade the 6650 to a GRE as it was a no brainer. Prices are still weird. I paid £190 for a 6650xt and sold it 9 months later for £220 used. Something is going on in the market again.
I've been enjoying using this card for 1440p with optimized settings and upscaling on more demanding titles, and bumping up the visuals for older or indie games. I don't think it will hold up for UE5 games, but it was absolutely worth it at under MSRP.
@@UncleNewy1 I should try it with my other computer with a RTX 2060 Super ... Although I think it's a bit slower than an RX 5700 for normal Rasterization ... But it can't hurt to try
The 2060 super will be fine. I was running my Quest 2 on a 1060 6GB before the 5700 and it was completely stutter free all the time. It was just not quite enough power........I had the things OC'd to the gills, tweaked the life out of the settings, permanent ASW and the fans at warp speed. That's why I got the 5700. I'm looking for a 3060ti now, but I need my kids to stop eating everything first 😂

The best builds i've done lately are just OEM office PC's with 8th gen 6 cores in them. toss an RX6600 or 6600XT in them and call it a day for resale. Total build cost like $250 USD on recent pricing.
I got it in the middle of GPU shortages as it was the only reasonably priced card at the time, and even then I had to import it from another country. Sadly my needs have gone up and I will replace my whole system as soon as new GPUs will drop, but it will get a new life in my brother's PC.
i had just upgraded my GTX 970 to a 7700 xt a few weeks ago.. walked in for a 3070 but there was an open box 7700xt for only $270 cdn... I took the risk and am super happy with it ! Now time to upgrade my Ryzen 1600 to a 5600 I think !
This card is an absolute dream for Linux gaming. More stable and frequently more performant than Windows. I've since upgraded to a 3090, but I miss those days when everything just worked.
RX 6600 XT is quite a beast for its time vs the price. I recommend quite many budget gamers to go for it a few years back. Seems like now 7600 XT is a better choice if they want a brand new card as our second hand market is way too few.
be holding my 6700 XT for next 2 years or something 😂 the 6000 series was an awesome buy, great price and performance ratio, and had everything i need to play in 1440p or 1080p high
I considered it when I was looking for a good dead in order to offset the performance drop I've got when I switched from 1680x1050 to 1440p monitor, which is admittedly a large jump in number of pixels. The fight was between this one and the gtx 1080ti and I ended up getting one of each for different purposes. I use the gtx for gaming simply because it has more memory, which seems invaluable in certain games and it didn't break the bank. Got the 6600 xt for another rig where I needed a sizable parallel computing capabilities without the big power footprint. This gpu is a steal for such a purpose at the price point at which I've got it.
My Sapphire rx 6600 pulse non xt can still tackle all heavy games' textures ,and if AMD was generous enough with its memory size and gave us a 12gb like the first model of the rtx 3060 gpus, it would have been an all time legendary card ,but it's still a terrific solution for anyone on a budget like me who does want a powerful gpu for gaming at 1080p.
No doubts, its the best value card for the last years for a budget. Bought two for a kids Gaming PC 1year for 150EUR ago and the other 2,5 years as a gift replacement for RX580 for 240EUR (1,5 years later sold still for 160EUR. You cannot do anything wrong with this card.
If you have more money, an RX 6700 XT is very suitable for 1440p gaming or higher refresh rates, I have one from end of 2022 and it is working very well still! And it has 12GB of RAM which is really nice
