Why is he so good at pulling out those melancholic and yet somehow satisfactory feelings like pain, loneliness, unseen, unheard, etc. He's so good at stoic mentality and showcasing it. He created his own vibe about it. It's both anguish, melancholic but also strengthening. In real life, he must be really happy because he's got a family he loves a lot. And yet he plays stoic, pain bearer characters so well.
Gosling probably got sexually abused in Hollywood when he was a children's actor. He can project the feelings, thoughts and the trauma that comes with that. Time is a flat circle. A neverending loop. Symbolism will be their downfall. Nothing can stop what is coming. Lord Christ is our Savior. ☦️🙏❤️ Isaiah 41:10 ~ Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Psalm 27:10 ~ For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. Matthew 28:20 ~ Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Deuteronomy 31:6 ~ Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Whether intended, or by chance, Ryan Gosling has been able to visually capture and portray with a single expression how millions upon millions of men feel on the inside. Loneliness and pain. In his doing so, he has inadvertently granted a temporary respite of catharsis for many of those men, such as myself, by making them feel just a little seen and acknowledged, for a split second. I think that is worth more than any award or sum of money. At least in my opinion.
I really understand what people mean by the ryan gosling feeling, its just a man trapped in a dying species. I sometimes zone out when Im walking sometimes and just think of characters like this and remember that all fictional characters are just mirroring the lives of the authors.

Ryan’s motionless face in bladerunner made the whole world realize there loneliness or made people who think there not alone realize what they were missing
Drive was an unbelievable movie. But the place beyond the pines was a true masterpiece. Probably a top 5 movie for me. I can always relate to the pain and loneliness he displays in his roles
The Place Beyond the Pines scene where he’s holding Jason is such a perfect moment. That scene made me cry as a daddy, the little sweaty hairs sticking to the back of Jason’s innocent little head. It reminds me of those moments where life was so unbearable and just holding my son in that moment and how it gives this weird sense of being comforted by that sweet baby but also being terrified of the future and wondering if you’ll be able to take care of him. If every man watched and understood that movie and how important and worthwhile and difficult fatherhood is the world would be completely different in 1 day.
